    Rode the demo yesterday purely by chance . Hit 80 mph on motorway easy for overtaking I'm happy with a cruising speed of 70mph I ride within the speed limits after doing 4 speed awareness courses over the years . I thought it was exceptional ,very smooth . When I got back on my Bullet 500 it was like driving a tractor . Put an order in for the Meteor then told the Wife things are very quiet in the house. Wish I had ordered one earlier.

    I think the Meteor is a fantastic bike for pretty much doing anything from travelling to commuting. And I agree that 350 cc and 20 horse power is enough for real life and legal speed limits. But I don't get something... Comparing the Meteor with the Classic's 500 cc and 27 horse power, why in all the reviews every reviewer complained about the lack of power on the Classic? So for the Meteor is fine but for the Classic is not?

    Just purchased a 2022 Meteor Supernova a month ago. I hadn’t ridden a motorcycle for 22 years, the first ride, as you could imagine, was
    a wee bit hairy, but, I soon was riding like I use to. What a great bike, for someone getting back to riding or, a new rider after passing the test,
    maybe a second bike. I think that this Meteor could appeal to anyone from 18 - 80 years of age. I’m 77 and still getting a huge smile every time
    I go for ride on this lovely machine. Well done Royal Enfield.

    Great, honest review. I soon bought this bike in supernova blue as in your review. It's been 30 years since my last bike and I'm having a blast on this Royal Enfield. I'd encourage any returning motorcyclists to test ride this bike as it's a great bike to return to motorcycling with. It's a 350 single but sitting on it feels like a much bigger bike, weight is not too light, bike feels planted. If your not on dual carriageway much, can't see why you'd want anything more than this wee belter.

    • @captainaverage721
      @captainaverage721 3 роки тому +3

      Not sure of your budget but I'd suggest as a DAS license holder youd soon tire of the 20 odd BHP power output which is only marginally more than the restricted 125cc power ceiling. If you like the retro look and have the budget for a new Meteor id maybe consider a used RE 650 or maybe Guzzi V7 or an air-cooled 865 Triumph Bonnie, just my thoughts horses for courses and buy whatever takes your fancy

    • @imarockstarme
      @imarockstarme 3 роки тому +1

      @@captainaverage721 I was looking at this as I’m a totally new rider. Will be doing CBT then DAS I think and this seemed like a good start and a bit forgiving if I ever panic and grab a fistful of brake. I just love cruisers and this seems like a good starting point.

    • @captainaverage721
      @captainaverage721 3 роки тому +1

      @@imarockstarme I'm sure they're perfectly good wee bikes but any bike now less than 5 yrs old all come with ABS so I wouldn't be too concerned about slamming the anchors on too hard. Try braking using just 2 fingers as it gives more feel and you're less likely to brake too hard. I'm not really a cruiser guy but Kawasaki do a 650 Vulcan which looks to be a pretty good bike with well proven mechanicals

      Yeah it's scary stuff. I hope my daughter never goes out with a Royal Enfield Meteor owner.

    Very few riders here in the US will accept that speed limit of 71 mph. _(We regularly do 80 and 85 mph on various freeway stretches. And almost every commuter car can reach a max. speed of 110 mph.)_
    This bike would have a chance in the US, if the speed limit were upped to 100 mph. But the current engine _(narrow, long bore, push-rod single cylinder 350 cc)_ cannot be modified to provide the necessary power. And possibly the retro design, manufacturing tolerances and current level of equipment (brakes, shocks, etc.) may not handle 100 mph safely.
    In any case this design is targeted towards India where 70 mph seems ample. The US motorbike market is a tiny fraction of the Indian market.

      Yes, here in India, in city road speed limit for bike is only 40kmph. While in highway or freeway it's not more then 100-120kmph. I myself ride a Yamaha 150CC bike top speed if 118 kmph.

      All good points. But I'm in the states and really intrigued with this bike. I don't have any intention of using it on the major roadways though.

      @@snatr I agree. I'm considering it for city commuting in Orlando, FL. I'd be taking it on max. 45 mph roads.

    Feet forward position? Really? Doesn't look that way to me at 8:11. Seems more of a selling video rather than an objective look at the bike 🤔

      its happy in 50 to 60 mph and 70 mph do stress engine i own this bike in india , 70 mph can be done but u will feel viberations on foot pegs and its tires u alot early in ur ride 60 and under it runs like really really smooth not the triumph or harley smooth those have alot premium components but u can have this and keep it for a decade with good service and maintain it , one thing , RE is bad with fuse system and break pads keep eye on fuse because i have pretty good time with pulling a short curcuited RE and breakpads are of cheap quality u will need to change them often if u run low on them get a good quality afterwards
