I have an M7 and it’s happened to me twice. Be aware you can always fallback to 1/60 and 1/125. Those two are the fallback mechanical shutter speeds. It’s denoted by the black arc / line in the dial. I always keep the 2 spare batteries in my bag as well
I love my M7, but you are right, when the batteries go, it's pretty inconvenient. Just picked up the Kameracraft LM grip, which has a spot to hold spare batteries in it, not sure if you use a grip with yours, but it might be something to consider. Cheers, keep up the great work and content.
As a subscriber and someone that respects your work, I don’t even have to watch this to love it! It’s 00:52 here in the UK and I’m supposed to be up at 07:00.... So, this has got to wait, but I know you’ll have made some killer photos on those plastic boxes :))
Just goes to show you, you can get great shots with anything: pinhole camera, toy “lomo “ types (I have a Digital Harinezumi) You simply learn to go with what the camera actually gives you. E.g I think that the flash on this camera would make a great series of full face only shots at night-kind of funky, close up Weejee. Thanks for posting.
The lens definitely changes the colours that hit the film/sensor. All glass renders colours different than other glass. Stacking glass makes this worse (as in X elements in a lens etc). Then you take a disposable camera (most have plastic lenses, but not all) will definitely mess with the way light/colours hit the film. Not always bad but you need to be aware of it, especially if you're shooting video footage with multiple lenses and a camera that doesn't shoot RAW recording. Cool vid, haven't used a disposable camera in ages!
Fire per usual!!! Let’s get a video tour of your office & “lab” space now that you’re fully moved into the new house. HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU AND THE FAMILY BRO!!!
@@quintaviusoliver8149 Tight! Maybe the buildout can be a monthly series? Planning phase, gathering supplies, building out each section (plumbing for sink, electricity, shelving units, etc etc). And if that’s a long long ways off (if ever) maybe a short vid on a minimal setup for those interested in learning how to dev at home. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Tiresome ...hearing about the camera vs photographer debate. It’s always both. Equipment (camera, lens, tripod, etc.) introduces elements into the final photograph which the photographer is responsible for. Both the camera and photographer matter.
Exactly. That is what analog photo is about. Not pixels, not grain, not sharpness... Its about expression, feelings, mood - well its art! Look at the old great photographers. You can't see if is a Leica, Nikon, Pentax or whatever.. Gear doesn't matter, and we talk way too much about. Why? Because it is so easy... Instead - let us look at the image!
Hey Q - even if the electronics stopped working on the M7, you are still good to go with the mechanicals at 1/60th and 1/125th if I understand it, correct? It’s on my wish list so hopefully that’s the case and it worked ok without the battery. Thanks for the video.
Yep the M7 still operates at those speeds BUT that’s not ideal when in the middle of a shoot. Especially when shooting inside with slow speed films @ 1/30sec or outdoors with HP5 @ 1/1000. There are many ways one could make it work and it’s a fantastic camera nonetheless... just not ideal without batteries.
@@quintaviusoliver8149 ok, I need to dig deeper for the MP then 😀. I’m just telling myself that of course, I’m not making money off this...just a hobby so I need to be practical. Thanks Again.
Some 40 odd years ago, I was told good photos are taken by good photographers not necessarily good cameras, you definitely proved that here.

Whoops. Looks like this was already addressed 😀.

Good stuff as always, man. Really enjoying your channel, Q. Keep up the great work.
I really appreciate that, Ted 💪🏾🙏🏾

@_trotchie love your work man!
M7 is close to useless without batteries
Yep! Thank goodness those batteries last forever!
