I have yet to play any of my empire units, but after seeing the last few matches I think I need to try them out! I'm sure Don's spicy dice add some extra fire power too, lol! Nice game guys!
Great video. But I’m thinking there’s a conspiracy in here somewhere. Don and Joe have a pact, Don gets all the good Shatterpoint dice and Joe gets all the good legion dice 😂
PLEASE move further back or don't be so close to the dice tray when you shake and rolll dice. The rusults are what matter so the camera doesn't need to be that close when they are clanking around. Its a very grating sound, especially for those of us using headphones.
Minor note to help with Mando, you dont *have* to end within 2 of Han. Mando is in range of himself. So if he is all alone he can also trigger Clan of Two. Didnt change anything, but just noting because I saw you mention wanting to end in range of Han and Greef later on. Other minor note you actually refresh force and order deck at end of turn when run out. Not start of turn when draw. Nobody was using lots of defensive reactives in this list, so not a big change. But some lists really like that. Others mentioned the sergeant thing already. I kept seeing so many people praising Wing Guard, but I never saw it. And definitely agree with them being disappointing. They struggle do any damage or even pushes. I really dont know why anyone would use them, even as a 3 cost. Thanks for showcasing the new units! Oh and Mando can take Sabine or Boba. To have the multiple mandos. But youre still one short. Always feels rough when spicey dice cook you though. Last night I felt bad for a friend because we were playing MCP and he just couldnt block anything.
Don must have picked up some cayenne or habanero juice on his recent trip to make those dice extra spicy. I definitely feel your pain about wanting those dice for Legion, but the Empire reigned supreme so that's what matters. Great game!
Empire Troopers together: Strong. Those spicy dice going Don's way for once helped a little too. Joe's thoughts on the units seemed spot on, perhaps with more releases that Cloud City... I mean: "what have we here" pack will get some synergy.
Yeah Empire seems like a great offensive powerhouse (being able to roll so many dice, with consistent damage on trees), but the stormtroopers instead of the Iden seem worse. The Lando Box Support units seem really bad, they can’t do anything on attacks really.
Those dice had so much spice you'd think they came straight from Kessel! Empire definitely seems like the strongest faction at the moment. The Rebel boxes seem like they focused more on "look at this fun scene from this movie!" instead of making solid squads. The main problem is that Rebel boxes are already very limited in what they can release. From what I can tell: Obi-Wan, Farm Boy Luke, Cantina Han and Chewie, R2 and C-3PO, Leia and Fleet Troopers and maybe Captain Antilles from EP. 4 Hoth Luke, Leia, Han, Echo Base Troopers, Bespin Like, Leia, Han, Chewie with C-3PO backpack RotJ is basically done except for General Lando. You could do the characters from the Solo movie but they wouldn't be Rebels imo. Saw Gurerra and his Partisan Renegades I guess it's more than I thought lol but it's still mostly re-hashes of the same characters
Veers and Lobot look great! The rest of the boxes, eh. Thanks for getting those boxes out so fast! I think y'all are still the only reason veers is spoiled?
If a unit is exposed before an attack, you cannot deal an extra damage from the damage tree by re-exposing, since that initial expose was removed when the dice were first rolled. You would iust re-expose them. The only way to deal damage via a second expose is if the character is exposed before the attack is initiated and you use an ability (such as coordinated fire or Iden’s seeker droid) to add an expose.
Great game guys! It looks like the Empire is efficient dealing damage like normal. The new units were shown off nicely and those spicy dice kept the snowtroopers warm lol. I'm looking forward to the new bounty hunter and mando boxes next episode. Keep up the great work!
First off, thanks for answering my question last week about how you handle premeasuring. I appreciate that. Now, right off the bat in this one you showed us, on screen, another premeasurement, this time with Snowtroopers. Not sure how to put this, but are you aware you are not following a very, very important rule in the game? Perhaps you have house ruled it (though if so it would be helpful to viewers - especially those new ones looking to learn how to play - if you called this out), but if not, the way you play it has a big time impact on a key aspect of the game. In the video at about 3:39 in, you show a movement tool (ok, check), a range tool (ok, check), *and* a model (Snowtrooper) (not ok at all, no check) being used to do your premeasurement. This is 100% not legit. It's in the rule book and also in several forum posts confirming that you can *never* use a base as a measurement device. In fact *only* a single range tool and single movement tool can *ever* be used at any given time to premeasure/measure. So again, I'm just wondering if you consciously ignore that rule or if it's a simple error. Either way, that change has enormous impact on game rules adjudication, in-game choices, the need for a particular kind of player skill, and outcomes, so (again) my suggestion would be to let viewers know if you are making this change to the rules on purpose. Just speaking for myself, it puts a filter (not good or bad) on how I take in your choices and the way the game plays out. I hope that didn't come across too dickish. I was just *very* surprised to see a cool channel, and experienced players, doing something so very much at odds with the rules. Have a lovely weekend! :) Edit: Similarly, at about 7:15 you measure and move the Stormtroopers up to an objective, only to discover they are now engaged. You then pull out the range 2 tool and relocate them out of engagement. That's a super big no-no as well. What's in common here is ignoring the built-in difficulty of having to estimate distances, and trading that for certainty (in the second case though seeing a final position, gaining knowledge you should not have, and then changing the move based on that). The game is very flexible in lots of ways. One way it is not is in the demands it places on us to estimate and commit to movements. I can't help but feel (again, based on official forum comments) that this is a big part of the balance of the game and its design. Ok, back to the video I go. Still watching!
You are correct, we just bounce from a few games and had a skip, if you watch our other we don’t use two tools at a time. We will make sure to keep that in mind and improve. Thanks again for the comment and for watching. -Joe
I totally get the whole "wait, this game does what ... that game is different" confusion. I feel that pain. Just wanted to clarify so you don't end up penalizing yourselves unfairly based on my comment - You absolutely can use two tools. It's just that they need to be two different types (one Range and one Movement), which you were totally ok with in the cited example. That wasn't the issue. The issue was using a base as an additional measurement device. You're perfectly fine putting the movement tool down at the starting point of the Snowtrooper and then *eyeballing* where you *think* the base would fit and then placing the Range tool down there. You just can't gain the *certainty* that putting a base in between the two tools would provide. Anyway, keep up the good work. You guys are putting in the effort. I'm just a dude sitting at home watching with zero effort involved. 😅
do not want to be that guy, but your pre measure are illegal lol, cannot use two movement tools at the same time and cannot place a miniature, then measure, and then place again the miniature on their original spot and then move lol
Always appreciate the comments. Just interesting you don’t want to be that guy and use multiple LOL when explaining. We bounce between multiple games so sometimes we do it by mistake. We will make sure to not do that going forward. Thanks for watching! -Joe

Spicy dice.

When you use a reactive like “Close the Deal” or “Not so Fast”, it happens after the player controlling the unit does their tactics ability.
Good to know
Close the deal happens before tactics.

1:01:34 take Sabine for almost all Mando. Boba isn’t a Mando.
That’s right she could fit
Her ability would be a bit wasted sadly as there would be no rebel alliance on the squad.
In most SW games devs favor the empire/Sith. Go figure.
