Baba Galadima's observation is spot on and deserves careful consideration. The current system of calculating consumption tax based on the company's headquarters rather than the location of the transaction is unfair. For instance, if you buy data or airtime worth 15,000 from MTN in Maiduguri, it's only logical that the VAT goes to Maiduguri local government, not Lagos where MTN is headquartered. The same principle applies to UBA bank's business profit in Maiduguri, which should be paid to the local government, not the headquarters. Raising taxes on companies will ultimately affect the masses, as the increased cost will be passed on to consumers through higher prices. Moreover, the notion that workers earning less than 800,000 are exempt from tax is misleading, as those earning the minimum wage of 70,000 will still pay tax, given that their annual income exceeds 800,000. The issue of sharing formula requires constitutional amendments, which is a daunting task in Nigeria, especially when it needs the support of at least 2/3 of the states

@@vok7584lies. Have read it. You people just talk trash 🗑
Bro they are trying to kill the in existence period 😂
This man is solely expressing the views of the north. Anything that is proposed is always vetoed by the north. Imagine how this alhaji is shouting.
Only when south United ,average northerner think nigeria belong to only north.
@@TundeAyegboyin-c5uwhen it was GEJ’s time, the time did not know the need for unity. Now that Buhari has destroyed the country and economy, we all want south to unite. The last time I checked, the unity was between SW and North.
@@TundeAyegboyin-c5uthe good for nothing British through their representatives in Nigeria handed Nigeria to them in their own terms. There were at least 4 Southern Army officers senior to Gowon but after the July 1966 coup those useless, busy bodies handed Nigeria to the North.
Murtala and his co-travelers had perfected plans to secede.Having killed Ironsi and slaughtered all Igbo officers in the army they were done with Nigeria but the British High Commissioner gave Nigeria to them in their own terms. The British have always been unfair to Southern Nigeria ab initio.
They asked the Northerners why they wanted to break away when they could have the entire country.naim we dey till today so o.
One Africa, one people, Save Nigeria from TPAIN of hunger and renew hopelessness. BLACK African Unity
Thanks for that strong correction about North or South
I didn't expect much from the northern gov.
Wasn't disappointed
I love engr buba galadima
I do sincerely, like his boldness and Frank talks. He opened the eyes and ears of Nigerians on the clueless buhari but they called him names and now,is the results.emilokun
When a man discusses a national issue without data but emotion of sentiments only the ignorant will agree with such scum.
Alhaji Galadima is deliberately gaslighting the public. Under the existing VAT structure, if you make a call in Damaturu, the VAT is paid to the headquarters in Lagos. However, the New Tax Bill proposed that if you make a call in Damaturu, the VAT go to Damaturu. This basically says that the state where VAT is consumed should receive the VAT.
Why are they deliberately changing the simple narrative ?
Devious analysis and demands
Nigeria will never progress with these Northerners. Buba Galadima's argument is just too ridiculous. He refused to understand. His problem is just sharing and distribution. We are in trouble in this country. Tinubu must implement regionalism or else the country will disintegrate completely.
Which regionalism? We like Nigeria as it is like this. Regionalism and autonomy was agreed in Aburi. They came back, changed mind and tore Nigerians into states to weaken solidarity. Millions of igbos died. Children were starving and eating their faeces. This Nigeria must remain this way forever o
What was Tinubu's argument when he refused and frustrated GEJ government from subsidy removal
@ray-df8bq and what does that have to do with this government.. where you alive then or just heard stories....oga lets move on
This is our country.....Buba Galadima
Let the north go on their own, period!
You cannot reap from where you didn't sow.
You clearly don't understand the principles of the tax reform bill. Only Lagos out 36 states will do well. The rest will tank.
All of you are talking about the North" should go" I pity your position. Do you think the North will suffer if the North goes? Please think again.😢
@Omhow?oIbadan2
The North is going nowhere. We're all one big family forever 😂 😂
Then expect lagos as Gaza 😂😂😂
Why shouldn't Yobe determine that it WILL do the manufacturing and processing going forward? Why the desire to slow down production elsewhere instead of starting production in THEIR states?
But what they majorly produced which is agriculture has no VAT on it.
Lord Lugard na you do this one. Nice one.
Well spoken
Summary of the Northern leaders objection. The Northern leaders don't want to pay tax. Great!!! Then they should expect taxes to fund infrastructure, education, health etc.
I thought the Buba Galadima is a patriot. He has demonstrated ignorance. Most Northern leaders believe the irresponsible statement of the Coupist from Niger Republic but are unable to accept the explanation of the government.
Abati met his match on today's programme the Galadima! 😂
E shock am
Galadima wey never happy since dem born am 😂
Nothing like one Nigeria Oga
God bless and guide the president of Nigeria 😊
Alhaji Buba Galadima has spoken well and intellectually, the taxi increase is ill timed the county is going through a lot right now and also without the raw materials what then is production.
Clearly you and Alhaji haven’t read a dot of the tax bill. As the bill would even reduce the tax bill on the majority of Nigerians. Anyone not earning 1M annually is exempt from tax for instance. Please I’m begging my fellow Nigerians, read, please 🙏🏽
Let the Northerners cry rivers but the tax reform bill will go on.
It is too late. Population is a factor in revenue allocation. How come now there is no North?
Abi oh
3 direct sir
I'm still waiting for the day someone from the North will give a logical and empirical reason for rejecting the tax bill. The level of emptiness and crass ignorance is an insult on our collective reasoning as a nation
It's your ignorance and intellectual laziness that has led you to the conclusion of "emptiness and crass ignorance"😂😂😂
Thank you Alh Buba Galadima for clearly exposing the hypocrite....
Since the local government to state government, didn't share and expand the revenue..Alh Buba and Northern governor's please allow the federal government to do the expansion..
I believe you the Northern is too setimented and tribalistic..
I support Buba Galadima
Thank you very much, Alh. Galadima, for your erudition and elucidation on certain issues.
Your name speaks volume to everything that discredit the govt even though you knew is for the interest of the Nation.
He has not mentioned any provision that he isn't happy with.
That's why you have to build your own factories so that you wouldn't go and manufacture your products in Ogun state
Farmers in ogun will start thinking on how to grow those crops or look for something else to do.
Thanks you for reminding us of our stupidity don't worry we rebuild our region
Galadima keep pointing 👉 at lagos and ogun but never want anyone to mention North, that is pure disrespect towards the south
He never stopped you from calling names of states in the north, all he said was that it shouldn't be a regional issues but that of Nigeria at large.
Don't mind the Old Man!
Did he say South when referring to Lagos?
@@andrewabaye6603 no, he said Lagos and Ogun.
I just started laughing immediately i saw Alhaji Galadima without even watching 😂😂😂 Very funny man
The man knows how to scatter ground with his mouth 😂😂and fears nobody in the govt, I think that's why he distanced himself from Buhari administration
Top top comedian 😂
I don't trust Galadima, he is like an endless agendist - now he doesn't want to hear "North" because when it pleases him he's happy to answer North. When not he wants "One Nigeria" this is nothing but con artistry. Such amount of hypocrisy is astonishing.
Dr. Abati's repeated callout in an attempt to interject his guest reminded me of the song by Adam A. Zango, titled "Alhaji-Alhaji".
Well said alhaji Buba
This man is very knowledgeable
This galadima is a BEAST
What has he done to you to deserve the insult? Respect your elders.
I Said it that the north will cry , its just beginning, let them keep sleeping thinking that the old will be the future.
ALHAJI Buba Galadima is doing nothing but what many failed to do.
The bill should be debated at the National Assembly. Anyone who has observation should present it during the debate. QED
18:40 - 18:60 if the VAT is going to Ogun because they do the processing of agricultural products, Sir, everyone should then invest in processing what they produce to keep their VAT.
Is this SpaceX science?
If anyone is a member of that committee and instead of going against the bill of which they part but go behind to accuse others of wrong doing. Betrayal is always part of some sections of this country.
3:51 I just love watching this old man funny old man ... Can you imagine when i was is this man i quickly called my Data guy to send 2gb data to my number ... 💯 Laugh
Dr Abatti didn’t even bother holding this guy accountable to mention his objections. Because in all of this he did not mention how Lagos and Ogun would benefit more than Northern states. I wish he did a better job, but I guess he was just as stunned
As it Dey pain them, it Dey sweet US!!!
Reading the comments, show how divided this country is.
I am sorry to say, this country won't go anywhere...no thanks to the British
SO THE NORTH DETAMIN WHAT LAW IS GOOD NIGERIA.
Yes to the extent that they're not in support of a bill against them,if you feel bad pursue your own that's what Democracy is all about.
They are doing what Tinubu did to GEJ. It's called Karma
Yes, because they are Nigerians too. Tinubu's ego trip must be stopped.
@diligenceeke3023 lol you are going back to sahel
@@ruleso The joke is on you. I don't even live in your midst, hypocrite!!
Thank you Buba for educating this midia to remove North from their mouth, they are the one dividing Nigeria with their hypocrisy...
??? North is a region in the country. How is that divisive? Do you want us to keep lying to ourselves that the northern governors don’t want tax reform?
Bringing this man in an important topic as this is a complete waste of economic time. This is a very important subject and buba galadima is not the right person to talk about it. Call him during campaign season to push his propaganda
Is Alhaji Buba Galadima no longer accepting or recognizing the forum of “Nineteen Northern States Governors?”
Frequently using the term is divisive true true, hearing northern governors instigative also
Imagine Galadima saying Nigerians should be grateful to Nigeriens for keeping Nigeria as One. This is a joke taking too far. Galadima should have said Nigeriens helped Nigeria to retain their interest in Nigeria.
They fought the civil war for the North.
Galadima tnx a lot for the truth revealed to Nigerians.
He revealed no truth...his perspective is laden with unsubstantiated bias
Which truth?
@@CollinsChiazorHe didn't hear him give example about telephone,Nissan not truth ? Am from south
Wat truth exactly?
Galadima is saying the opposite most of our telephone calls it's Lagos state that takes the revenues currently while the new tax review is trying to ensure that the state where the the person is calling from should be taking the revenues. So his broadcast is wrong .@chingytim6966
This is the best bill ever submitted for the good of the country. Politics should no longer be business for Politicians. Politicians should look for business else not Politics. Tinubu should not listen to business Politicians. Let them look for jobs else.
Talking nonsense
Well speaking old man than Dr abbati
Only Revolution can save Nigeria sowore
Weda the north likes it or not, that bill must be passed..it's our turn, the north has had theirs..the north can't keep dragging us back on
Baba Buba 😂.
14:20 - 14:35 clearly shows we are in trouble as a nation. Because the bill is trying to ensure that the “telephone you are making in Damaturu…” is NOT a production for Lagos.
Kai. Smh
He is very reasonable in his submission.
One Nigerian people
Can this man give us one evidence to back up his claim that taiwo and governor of Lagos created the bill. Because the concern of this people is the sharing ratio. What is contribution of Kano to our economy. Kano supposed to be Lagos in North. It's not fair you reap from where you didn't sow.
Na u sabi 😂
North is a big problem for Nigeria
I think this bill will be the thing that will separate us north and south. We need to go our separate ways.
Let’s go on Regional
True Fedralismn
State police
NDA institute in 6 Geo polical zone!
This was what was discussed in Aburi. Later they came back and dishonored it. It led to a war and millions of people died of starvation and military warfare. Las las they surrendered. You see this Nigeria as it is, it must continue like this. We love it now like this
If we have to meet to discuss the tax bills before it is passed. Then, I think it is high time for us to discuss the Nigeria constitution and agree. Because like the tax bills, the Nigeria constitution is one-sided, too. It favors some people more than the other.
Why will Alh. Buba Galadima say Dr Abati should not mention tribe, reloigion and ethnicity and still go ahead and talk about the bill as an ethnic thing
God is in control, where is Rufa fire?Happy new year to everybody
Democratic Republic of the Yoruba are not a part of your Nigeria
The locations mentioned by Gl Tiani are located in the North and I do hope some Nigerians are living there. Why can't the Local Governments' men within the areas could not speak up, and report to their Governors? Buba is now telling the world that the Nigeria intelligence Agency is incompetent because of its inability to get critical information for the good of the Nation. If Buba Galadima couldn't trust the National Security Adviser assisted by the CDS and other Security Agencies, then we are going nowhere.
Ahj. Baba should tell the world which provision of the bill is against the Northern Nigeria to justify their clamour.
How I wish it was RUFAI interviewing him
What is the position of south-east governors on this tax reform?
Nigeria, my country
Galadima will always oppose the ruling government because he was not consider for any offices. If it is not in favor of the North then it must not be considered 19:10 .
One Nigeria
