I'm Brazilian. And I think Kolohe's air was really underscored. We have to give credit to those who deserve, no matter what has happened in the past. This was poor judgement.
Yeah Medina has been really hot in this contest, but this heat was a head scratcher. I don't get the 6 points for a ride with a dead barrel finish, and I think Kolohe earned at least a 7.8 for that air with these conditions. Just an odd heat
Right, they must see something other people dont see,i really dont have a favorite, and dont care who wins.I just want to see a fair result.i stopped watching boxing years ago because of rigged scoring. These guys do this for a living and it can be risky business, they deserve,if nothing else,a fair shake.
Felipe does a air reverse and falls on a wave in 2017 and gets a 9. Kolohe does a monster oop into devil wind and finishes the wave off and gets a 7.5.
What can i say that hasn't already been said? That Andino air was 100% underscored. It should have surpassed the 7 point whatever he needed to beat Medina. Bunch of poppycock
A lot of people think Kolohe got robbed and that air was nuts but getting an 8+ on a small wave at JBay isn't going to happen. Jbay scoring is always about the powerful carves and barrel sections. I'm still rooting for Kolohe to take the title this year but I think the judges probably got it right here.
"Kolohe was robbed", says the US people. In Bells Beach, Medina was robbed against Jonh Jonh, said the brazilians. I have a feeling that, when u lose, some people just use their frustration as an excuse.
Doug Bell it’s one subjective and difficult sport to judge but damn the fans go crazy, the hate and racism surfers spew when they think something went not how they think should have is insane, really wish to block comments under the Brazilian vs US/Aus match ups
I rarely state flubs in scoring, however Gabs 8.0 to start heat was overshadowed by Andino's alley-oop in transition, without loss of wave, followed by 2 turns. His air was more critical, needing be shown again in slow motion from different angles, than Medina's end floater. Understand Gabs wave was bigger but comparing the two those scores could've easily flip flopped.
what about the distance covered on the bottom to those turns? critical surfing there dude it was enough for an 8.0 . I confess watching live I felt Andino was getting robbed but at the end when I saw the details on the replay I could say it wasn't easy to score this heat I wouldnt like to be a judge on this one for sure.
@@renatoreboucas5413 Exactly. Andino's longer arcs and drawn out bottom turns were highlight worthy! Definitely mature surfing and will lead to a WCT win one day.
k Bouwer Is Kolohe Andino the most consistently underscored pro on the 2019 CT? - He is one of the most consistent guys in every heat, throwing down massive innovation, and variety in every turn, posesses a fun t to watch, smooth classic style, maybe too slick, because it seems the WSL judges reward up and down top to bottom more than progression, variety, speed power and flow, as claimed in the judging criteria!! - Watch any heat this guy surfed, he is futuristic, with a Slater like linkage/transition of moves, and also with a unique flow only John John has, in my opinion... Watch the JBay Corona open against Medina (no offence to Medina who is a machine) , but all the public comments reflect this California kid is on another level, as with most/all of his heats. Agree? -
Not surprising. If judges were fair Jordy & Kolohe would be 1 and 2. They are always robbed. Jordy smoked Italo, Mendes & Caio in first 3 events & lost all 3 heats. Even beat JJF .. really sad how rigged WSL is. Kolohe’s wave comfortably better than a few safe backhand snaps & floater. Disgrace.
Medina got a 6.23 for a close out tube. Andino got a 4.83. Andino tends to get underscored. Medina was over scored on the 6.23- 2 off the tops before the close out.. The other scores were close to fair.
IDK if I agree with the scores??? It was a super close heat that really could have gone either way... That being said for whatever reason I was pulling for K-Loh and felt he deserved the win.
@@Robocopter_fpv that little wave does not compare with the big boy moves in the finals, Yaga did an air and was scored the same. That was a good air considering the wind but you must be kidding

Uma coisa é onda curta de 1 a 2 pés como foi na Barrinha e outra coisa é Jefreys em dia grande e de ondas extensas. The height of the air plus a good floater finish is supposed go be scored way better than a 7.5
Gabriel's 8 for a large backhand floater vs Kohole's 7.5 for an air, basically what it boiled down to.

Totally! Kohole got robbed imo. That air was fucking so hard to pull off. Not sure what those judges were thinkin!?
