Excellent. Thank you for this video.
I would Add, that simply cutting a micro USB cable and splicing it would have been less time consuming.

Is there such a thing as a 5V transformer? In other words, can you downgrade the transformer you have to something smaller like a 5v ?

Yes, you need a DC/DC converter (or AC/DC if you have alternative current, such as in my case in this video) of the suitable specifications (input voltage range, desired output voltage, and with sufficient of output current capability)

I have an outdated security camera pre-wired with a dc power cord coming out of the wall (mounted high, near the ceiling). I want to upgrade to a newer Wyze V3 cam , but dint want to hassle with running a new USB power cord through the wall. can i use 12V power supply with 4 splitter with a Micro DC Power Adapter DC5.5x2.1mm to Micro USB 5V DC Power Supply

Hi ! It depends of how much power you want to draw through the existing wiring. In general, yes, you can run 12V through the existing wiring, and convert it to 5V using a 12V to 5V converter right before use. Then the connection is simply a matter of adapting the connectors.
As a guideline, I would not exceed 1A through the existing wiring, which at 12V gives you about 1A so 12W. 12W at 5V is 2.4A, so you can draw up to 2A at 5V (a bit less than 2.4A due to losses).
My recommendation would be to use a cigar lighter adapter for cars with USB ports. Just wire the 12V to it and you get USB ports.
You mention a 4-way splitter, that's a lot, you want to power 4 5V devices from one 12V wire ?
      Hope this helps !
