Hope you all enjoy this as much as I enjoyed making it. This is the first in many planned episodes in the series, featuring some awesome special guests. Stay tuned! Pete
Another cracking video Pete! I've got to say I don't remember playing too many of these in the arcades, I know I definitely missed out on AvP and Cadillacs & Dinosaurs which was particularly disappointing. Willow has the look of an Amiga game about it, some elements like the coin collecting remind me of something like Gods.
Thanks, Owen! I loved Cadillacs & Dinosaurs as a kid, but didn't play AvP until I was an adult (via emulation). Yeah, Willow definitely has an Amiga vibe going on.
Dang, this video was great! So often on YT you'll find videos about "rare arcade gems" that are just repeating the same titles over and over, but this video was comprised of mostly games I've never heard of or seen! Subbed :)
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it. Yes, most of the Capcom big-hitters get a lot of coverage, so it's good to explore some of their under-loved games (many of which are also excellent). Plenty more in this series to come.
I never realized Linn Kurasowa had a Hadoken move in AVP :O also its worth mentioning that Red Earth is also unique because instead of competitive VS, the game has 2P Co-op with the two players vs the CPU boss, and that in Nemo, the player 2 character FLIP is a clown in black face.....that for some reason nobody ever seems to have any issue with despite his appearance in the movie and both games aimed at children XD
Great video thank you! As someone who enjoys collecting arcade exclusive pcb’s I really enjoyed the video and I’m looking forward to the next instalment already
Yet again another well presented video Pete The only game I had experience with was the classic Cadillacs & Dinosaurs Some of the others do look fun though!!
oh man thanks for including Carrier Airwing, I LOVE that game and Im patiently waiting for the day that friggin Capcom brings it to a home console oneday... I local convenience store had the that game (the arcade of course) in many many moons ago...I wish I was able to track down those things, who know where it ended up... :(
A great video as always..! I _think_ that I'd at least heard of all of these games, but I think that - with the exception of _Alien vs. Predator_ and _Armored Warriors_ - this video is the first time I've even ever seen footage of any of these games… Also… _Rocky Horror Picture Show_ ..? Surely you meant _Little Shop of Horrors_ ..!?
Red Earth looks quite nice graphically. I think ultimately the reason it was never ported may have been due to the lack of characters in the roster since it's primarily supposed to be a fighting game.
@@onaretrotip only differences though Dutch and Lieutenant Kurosawa don't appear in the story, it's set on Supergirl's earth, also the game doesn't explain as to how the xenos came to earth

There are quite a few exclusives missing, and I've had absolutely no experience with Varth. Looks great though. Yeah, a Capcom shooter collection would be great.
An awesome video Pete. You know this topic really speaks to me so I appreciate the work you put in to this one. I wasn't aware of what type of game Red Earth was, now I can kind of see why Capcom would be apprehensive about dropping a home port. They'd probably have to add more characters to add longevity as I don't see most people liking the small roster of characters. Plus I think being that isn't quite a straight forward fighter might turn a lot of people off. Nemo is one title I wasn't aware of. I don't think I've ever come across it on mame. Looks fun though. I'm still waiting to get my hands on an official release of both Cadillacs and AvP but like yourself I'm not willing to splash out 200 quid on a fight stick with just 16 roms. Hopefully they'll drop a second volume to the belt action collection with the licensed titles. In fact from time to time I bug Capcom about it on Twitter 😂 maybe I'll wear them down one day 😉
Thanks, Rob! Thought that this series would appeal to you. Yeah, Red Earth is a really weird game - it's unique, and sits in a very strange place genre-wise. I can see why it didn't get ported. Nemo is a cool little game. It's quite unknown for a Capcom game. Yes, a second instalment of the Belt Action Collection would be great, but I'd be surprised of it ever happens. Hahaha keep hammering away at them mate.

The one that always annoyed me most (I know I'm not the only one) is Cadillacs and Dinosaurs. Still a shame the SCD/MCD didn't just get a conversion port of that instead of, the other one it did. Some like it, don't really at all but either way it's lesser than the original game, that I stand by.
TMNT, toxic crusaders, Capcom arcade Games, childhood memories. So much imagination and colour, life was full of wonder and possibility ♥️ NEVER FORGOTTEN 🕯️
Capcom really were the kings of these type of games in the arcades at the time. Yes Sega and Namco did the big games well, but when it came to pixel art games Capcom ruled the arcades. An honourable mention goes to ProGear a horizontal shooter made by Cave, but brought to the arcades by Capcom. Its finally going to get a home port of sorts as it’s going to be one of the games included in Capcom Home Arcade system. I’m still on the fence about getting one, if they come down in price then I’ll likely get one.
Just look at that Lynn gameplay starting at 1:58. That game kicked ASS. One of Capcom's best beatemups, which means one of the best beatemups ever. I put it just under the incredible D&D: SoM, which thankfully has gotten ports.
The following on are Switch through Beat 'Em Up Bundle: Armored Warriors Battle Circuit We still need Red Earth on Switch and maybe Carrier Air Wing. If we get Capcom Fighting Evolution 2 on Switch, I want it in 2.5D as well as Resident Evil and Muscle Bomber represented
I'm assuming Capcom's arcade adaptation of Alien Vs. Predator never got a console port due to licensing and copyright issues between Twentieth Century Fox and Capcom at the time. Oddly enough, Capcom was dropping hints of a possible port of AVP in Final Fight 3. In the last stage of the game, as you fight your way to the rooftop of the building where the main bad guy, Black (a not-too-subtle clone of Street Fighter's Rolento) is at, you'll come across the iconic Colonial Marines' pulse rifle, flamethrower, and the Power Loader in the lobby level. Keep up the good work.
As the owner of a Commodore Amiga, I reckon we could easily have had half decent ports of Nemo or Willow. They look like the kind of games that would have sat well on the Mig.
I’ve really got to pick that belt action collection up! Some fantastic brawlers on there, Armoured Warriors has always looked interesting but it’s a crime that Cadillacs and Dinosaurs never got a port anywhere! Like you I never really associate Capcom with shooters but Vulgus is another arcade exclusive I really like Top video Pete, gonna get editing tips from you I think
Yeah, it's a great bundle for the price, Steve. I know, right; Cadillacs & Dinosaurs would have been right at home on the Saturn. Vulgus is a cool game, and interesting that it was their first. Thanks a lot mate; I'm happy to give editing advice any time (although I only know how to use Power Director).

I've got to say Pete, I've never heard of hardly any of these great Capcom titles. I clearly didn't spend enough time in the arcades! A well put together video as always mate! :)
Great start to a new series some epic side scrollers , I’ve never heard of the Nemo game I Rembrandts playing Willow at a fair ground back in the day so wanted it to be released on a console
