  • This video examines a prelude by Johann Sebastian Bach, not one of the famous 48, but the first of the 12 Small Preludes, in C minor, BWV 999. It is simply constructed, with the same pattern in each bar, outlining one harmony. And what extraordinary harmonies they are!
    Performer: Janos Sebestyen

Sorry, this is way too basic. Are the dominant chords from Harmonic minor, Harmonic Major, locrian natural 7 or Neapolitan minor.? Does Bach create a dominant pedal sequence by stringing together the dominant modes from multiple scales to create subtle differences in the sustained perfect cadence that is coming? This is too vague.

Sorry? You should be sorry, buddy. As it is, your comment is negative in its effect. Perhaps, you will answer those questions, in detail, that you suggest are important when considering a legit analysis of the superb Bach composition at hand. Then, you'll share those answers with the rest of us. Perhaps, you will do not any such things. The analysis provided by ComposerNotes is clear and easy to follow; offering traditional Roman numeral analysis and, including modern chord symbols provides PLENTY of information for any concerned party to expound upon as they choose. Your attempt to minimize and, dismiss this offering as "too basic" is stupid and ill-intended.
