- For decades, eastern Canada has had people from all over the world set their sights on its vast abundance of all types of white water. But there is one particular aspect that continues to bring in the world best paddlers; big waves. As the rivers rise in the spring melt, some of the best big waves in the world take form, each unique to itself. Nowhere else in the world has allowed freestyle kayaking on waves to progress like spring in eastern Canada, and this year was one of the best. Each year a small group of kayakers dedicate their time to chasing these waves. Those that started this dedication gave it a name, STAKEOUT.

Yeah…I’m gonna be watching this one over and over again…
This video really shows off just how incredibly talented paddlers like you, Benny, Nick, et al really are. From sending it on tiny steep creeks from Chile to Kenya, to playing on the ridiculous big water of the Stikine, to this just absolute eye feast of insane playboating. Let no one call you guys one trick ponies! And to produce such a beautiful piece of film as well.....Well done!!

OK, so this is the Dane Jackson video I have always wanted to see!!!! I have always told my friends I would absolutely love to have access to Dane's footage. He is the best paddler in the world in the best places in the world. It would be a treat to make a video for him. Well, I absolutely loved this video!!! Believe me I know it takes so much time to capture and edit it all, but wow was it worth it!!! It takes that third person video from the drones and the other cameras to really bring the rapids and the skills to life. The gopro simply cannot capture the scale of what is happening. Loved the narration as well! Bravo! You guys are amazing! Keep grinding Dane and good luck at the Green Race again this year!! Hope to run into you there again! MORE OF THIS!

Great cinematography. Your drone skills and moves are real solid. This is truly the sickest play I’ve ever seen and one of your best videos ever. I was gonna say the opening action shot @ 1:54 had to be the shot of the year, but then you bested it @ 2:13. This may be the #1 most epic kayaking video of the decade. I keep watching it over and over and over. Also, you paddle with the most amazing crew.

@@danejacksonkayak I've been flying for 6 years now, videographer for 12. WW kayaking for only 2. Aerial video is the pinnacle for me. I have the M2P and MA2, haven't pulled the trigger on the M3 cuz I bought a new Antix 2 and SuperNova very recently which ate up my toys budget.
I agree. The editing in this especially in the first 5th section is off the charts exciting in itself.
Dane this may be the best one I've seen as far as making me want to go get in my boat this second. I find myself clapping my hands, smiling ear to ear and feeling the excitement of a million waves. Way to go brother, way too go!!! Thanks for sharing.

man, there was some absolutely epic chundering when you guys were running that insane rapid. Absolutely terrifying when that guys getting eaten by seams over and over and then ends up losing his paddle and surfing in a monster wave hole. Holy crap! Brought back memories for me me as I used to live in Quebec and remember the rivers in full spate in the spring melt - all that dark black water barely above freezing I never kayaked it though.

are you guys just running rockstars,project x/mobius,jedi's? on these rivers? or are there specific BIG WAVE freestyle boats? am wanting to get into some big wave riding
Yep, all the standard freestyle boats, although certain boats are better on waves . Many of us will often be in carbon builds of the boat. Though this stakeout I was still in plastic, and plastic still works sick.
