He tells you his backstory, even makes fun of himself, (rap battle choke scene in 8 mile, and his videos) Unlike most artist, admits when he is wrong. He has had to listen to the hateful words and scrutiny since before he became who he is today. He's learned a lot from early on, having to grow up quick and raise himself. He knew he didn't want his daughter to ever go through the pain he has experienced. But as a person, he realized what he said was hurtful and not truly meant. We all say words we don't mean when our feelings are hurt or we get defensive. He worked hard to put out that album and already felt that it wasn't his best work. Him apologizing shows just how much he has grown, not just as an artist, but a human being. He didn't apologize due to intimidation or backing down, but because he said things he didn't mean. He didn't want to hurt anyone. I already loved his work, but enjoy him even more now. He will always be one of my favorite artists.
