    • @RadiantRealty
      @RadiantRealty  4 роки тому +1

      Are you renting a vehicle? If so, I would opt for one with higher clearance and all wheel drive. I imagine you could drive a compact car, but you would have to go very slow and may hit the bottom of it along the way :( The road varies from year to year, but it's always been a rough ride. The lake is gorgeous though.

    just a point of interest?
    who do you consider the "locals"? i lived in Whitefish (except for 4 school years) from 1982 to 2021. "locals" totally changed. totally. gone are the friendly, cordial, fun-loving, car camping young families - replaced by the inconsiderate, arrogant, rude RV crowd. they couldn't be more different.
    the Flathead valley has been inundated by city folk and their city ways since 2000, getting worse every year. i don't recognize it anymore. alpha wannabes everywhere. thugs....
    example (1 of hundreds i could cite).....i was driving Farm to Market road in 2018 taking pics of the beautiful cloud formations that day. they were extraordinary. i stopped roadside by an open field/prairie to snap a few shots. it was a fenced property with a new "mini mansion" on it. as i walked the roadside looking for angles and light, a big truck came screeching down the paved drive and out onto the road. they hastened to my car, and blocked it in - police style. they jumped out of their mega-truck and asked "what the hell are you doing?" they were belligerent. apparently, the roadside is theirs. i was trespassing. could've fooled me.
    i showed them my camera, pointed to the beautiful cloud formations, and calmly stated i was just taking pics. they wanted to see my pictures. yes....they wanted to see if i was really taking just scenic shots. not sure why the paranoia. not sure why the thuggery on a public roadside. rude and belligerent. but this is not an isolated incident since the onslaught of rudeness began in the new century. this became common. everywhere.
    these people live in the valley.....but surely are not "locals" in any sense. i see invaders. i see wealthy "settlers" taking over. i see privilege at its worst. i certainly don't see locals.
    you should have seen the Flathead from years pre-2000. it was very friendly, sleepy, laid back, ski resort and boating mix of friendly communities, from Whitefish to Somers and Bigfork to Columbia Falls.
    NOTHING resembles that now. it is suburbia personified. all the bad things, in one rude, pushy, angry package of privilege
    Needless to say...i moved. far, far away. another country. i miss my old playground and the secret places i visited. but i don't miss the new "locals". not one bit.
    i capped my Glacier years of over 5000 trail miles, over 100 mountain summits, over 100 nights camping the back country, and over 100 floats on the Flathead rivers just to get the hell away from these new "locals".
    so again i ask. who do you consider locals?

    • @RadiantRealty
      @RadiantRealty  11 місяців тому

      That's so strange. I guess if they moved here from a location with more crime they might be a bit paranoid. I'm glad you made the move to somewhere more suitable to your current needs. Where did you end up moving to?
