I always fly with gloves but recently it was a really hot day and I thought narh not important, Ive never needed them before and at the last moment I put em on anyway somewhat out of habit. 1 min later I faceplanted onto a very rough gravel runway and completely shredded the gloves but saving my hands with just a few scratches. I have no doubt if I wasn't wearing the gloves id have two badly bandaged hands right now. Im convinced with alot of this stuff ie reserve its the one time you think you won't need it will be the time you actually do.

I also like goggles because the elastic band compresses the ear cups and provides a few extra dB of passive noise reduction. I always fly with these 3 items as well. :)

I fly Free-Flight Paraglider. I agree. I have found boots with excellent ankle support that are lighter than my regular tennis shoes. Coleman makes great lightweight boots. Goggles and glasses, yes! ❤🎉

Nice video. Thanks for doing it. My world changed when I got a flight deck for longer flights - not a must have but very nice to have.

interesting... i have fancy ankle protection boots but i never use them because they are so clunky to run with that i feel like herman from the munsters.
i have nice gloves but its so hot here that i leave them off. which cost me dearly on my last beach flight which was in strong wind and after landing i couldnt get my wing down no matter what i pulled. got some nasty cuts in my hands from lines.
glasses i wear sometimes but they press against the ear cups and feel painful. good point to use goggles with straps which can fit nice under ear protection.
everything you said make sense and i think i will bring this stuff again for the next flight.
    thanks for the reminder trevor

I would add secondary ear protection to the list. Even with good ear cups, that motor noise will deteriorate your hearing.

Can you recommend several different googles that you like? Thank you

HI-TEC hiking boots, Giro road cycling gloves, and Dewalt wrap around bifocal safety sunglasses.

Never had issues with red eyes or any other irritation even after 3+ hour flights on full trims and bar.

@@rupman27isback Like Trevor is usually flying - a reserve wouldn't be a great help but an annoyance :) I fly without.

Do you have issues with the goggles fogging up? How do you prevent that?

What’s the best brand of googles? I bought some Nvolo ones and I did not like them. They restricted restricted my vision way too much.

Google protection is essential. Check out how red people’s eyes are when they get off their sled. The air dries out your eyes and creates pits in the surface of the eye. (Not to mention the grasshopper that is gonna pop up and get you in the socket)
