I like Dev's ending Season 1. He really doesn't need a Fairy Godparent, but I do think he needs Peri. I'm all for Dev not remembering fairies and Peri becomming his nanny/caretaker and helping him that way. First, it would be fun to see Peri in a huma disguise as well, and second, it might lead to Peri's character arc of figuring out how to get Da Rules changed/updated.
I’m honestly surprised at how complex a character Dev is. When I started watching the show, he seemed like the stereotypical rich kid bully, so I was surprised at how much depth he has. I really hope this show gets a Season 2 so we can see him dev-elop ;) Also, this is slightly unrelated, but I had no idea that moment from Night Of The Living Pharmacists was a Rocky Horror reference, so thank you for making me aware of that! I really need to watch that movie.
I actually think him remembering her had and lost a fairy would be an even more cruel punishment than him forgetting about them. Especially now that he knows someone cared for him and Dev treated him like garbage. (Plus, if he remembered, he'd be a worse version of Crocker, constantly trying to invade fairyland.)
My theory is that devs dad dale will discover fairy’s (it’s literally on the project h board there’s no way he won’t) and will end up discovering pixies, since they have the same motivations similar to dev and the anti fairy’s but dale doesn’t get redemption

Good vid, I definitely appreciated the "It's not Hazel's job to fix Dev", as I feel like fandom tends to woobify their fave and put their happiness above every other character's needs or story arcs, and I'd hate to see Hazel taken from her spot as the literal main character of the show just for Dev's sake. Thankfully the FOP writers don't seem to be going that root, and even if Dev does remember Fairies exist, her other friends also knowing helps ensure that Dev likely won't get ALL the spotlight. That the narrative doesn’t focus on Peri’s involvement with Dev’s spiral. Dev is 9-10. And Peri is his adult fairy guardian who’s meant to guide him through some of the most vulnerable, miserable years of his life. And he COMPLETELY failed. Yes, the odds were stacked against him, because Dev is a LOT, but there’s just so much blatant difference between how Cosmo and Wanda treat Hazel VS how Peri treats Dev. Going back to Operation Birthday Take back; when the dust settles, Cosmo and Wanda immediately swarm Hazel. Listening to her talk, apologizing for how the party went, and just spending QUALITY time with her??? VS Peri who doesn’t even offer Dev an apology for leaving him unattended with an abusive babysitter … just immediately offering him wishes. It really goes to show that it’s mostly just a job for him. He lacks the wisdom and maturity of his parents and is unable to approach Dev as a child in need, Dev is just his godkid to him. And while you can argue he cares it’s, as you said, not the type of dynamic that Dev needs. I wish that the narrative focused more on Peri’s wrong doings rather than reducing him to a running gag for the majority of the finale. Like how in the original FOP Cosmo and Wanda’s failing of Crocker was treated with severity. If we get a season 2 I would love to see Peri reflect on how being a Godparent isn’t the job for him, not until he’s older at least. I need to see him feel guilty and for the narrative to acknowledge that shoving all the blame onto a 10 year old is naive. Because looking back at the finale- see how easily Wanda and Cosmo talked Dev down? I think even Hazel would’ve slipped negatively if she had a Godparent like Peri … still love him though!

Maybe Peri accepting advice from his parents(since they have a lot of experience to help him) That's what I'd personally like to see in a S2. What about Dev’s dad? We never really had a truly evil parent before in the series (Timmy’s parents aren’t the best (obviously), but they have their moments). Will he become an even bigger antagonist to the show later on? Will Irep give him his memories back? Will he team up with the L. O. S. E. R. S. (Irep, Crocker, Dark Laser, and Vicky) but actually be a threat rather than a fan service joke, and even get the Pixies’ help? And how will Dev cope with the fact that he truly wants is a lost cause, or worse, that his father would not hesitate to get rid of him once he knows what caused him to lose his hold on the world in the takeover?
This channel gives me a lot of hope that when the show hits Netflix, it’ll become their biggest hit since Stranger Things. Just think of how many original Fairly OddParents fans are going to discover the show on Netflix. A season two of this is a lot more likely than people are saying.

Like him losing Peri isn’t the worst idea even if a part of me wished they could have made it work. Yeah Fairly Oddparents: A new wish is such an amazing show. I bought the season in iTunes and I'm not disappointed. It's way better than the original show. I just hope Nickelodeon takes the hint and renews the show for a 2nd season.
Joshua Applebee should return as an overarching antagonist who can time travel and have splintered versions of himself whose main goal is to gather 9 guardians of light and 13 Seekers of darkness in order to forge the Y-and (Wand) so that he can keep all the magic for himself
Is it bad that Dev not being helped by a fairy in my opinion supports the "the fairies are antidepressants hallucinations" because it can show not all medication works well on everyone and can even make you worse. I know the theory is a stretch but if that could also be apart of the message I would appreciate it since I had a bad mental and behavioral reaction till I found the right medication.

The problem with Dev is that he wanting was his father's attention and love. Sadly, his father is a selfish greedy man. He exposed fairies to the world and took over Fairy World just to get his father's attention and approval. But sadly, it was all for nothing. When his father was creating Project H (Hazel), this never occurred to Dev that the reason why Dale is paying attention to Hazel because Dale is trying to figure out why Hazel didn't spend any money on Founder's Day. Dale wants to find out so he can make money. Dale cares about is money. The reason Dev didn't think about this because he was so blinded by jealously. I hope we get a season 2 that Dev realizes that Dale will continue spying on Hazel so he can make money and Dev will have to warn Hazel what his father is up to. This could be his redemption arc.

Because I feel like it’s gotten bad since around the time Andi Mack got cancelled and Warner Bros has been influencing Hollywood into making the same shit decisions they made and kids media has been getting the worst of it, in my opinion. Most of the kids shows that were running in the 2020s I actually liked are either cancelled or stuck in limbo like A New Wish, The Villains of Valley View, Mao Mao, The Bureau of Magical Things and Moon Girl & Devil Dinosaur

Dev gave me more Amity Blight vibes, only I'm pretty sure Dev's dad is nowhere near as monstrous as Odalia Blight.
