Just bought it after this incredible manual! I was using default XP Cameras with XP Realistic for almost 1 year and was struggling of lack of options after ezca v2 and v3. Now I finally discovered that this project much simpler than I thought plus it is much more comfortable than EZCA aand it is what I actually need! Thank you Q8Pilot for such a useful tutorial!
Once again, thank you for this video. There are dozens of videos/tutorials online that aren't always so helpful. You get right to the point instead of rambling for 10 minutes. I appreciate that. In other news, I finally got UWXP and it's amazing! I opted to ignore ortho and/or mesh for the last several months and the few airport add-ons make the world of difference.
Q8 - Most UA-cam tutorials are way TOO long, but not this one! This was concise and really well done tutorial. You delved into a plugin that has incredible depth. After spending 30 minutes, the viewer should have a good degree of competence with this plugin!! I would recommend that the viewer forward to the 4 minute mark to bypass the installation instructions. After that it is well paced tutorial goodness!
For all, who like mouse panning like in FSX, go to Xplane keyboard settings, choose SRS ,then X-camera and then "simulates the middle mouse button being depressed" option (press space). So that you can pan around with "space" pressed and mouse moving.
Covers all the details required to get a new user to start using X-Camera effectively. Instructions are clear and easy to follow including how to assign and use the joystick buttons. Great job 👋
This was an excellent tutorial. Many tutorials like this tend to miss critical pieces of information or skip steps, or drone on. This was very thorough, but well paced.
Just purchased X-camera and was fumbling around trying to figure it out, went to UA-cam and found your vid. As a subscriber of yours, I'm surprised I missed this. A++++ many thanks mate :)
I agree, this is a very good tutorial! Thanks for sharing your knowledge. I’ve watched many, many of your videos, but for my needs currently, I think it is the best. Keep up the good work and remember the “behind the scenes videos. I think 🤔 that would an awesome project to follow and learn from..
So I finally made the move and gave X-plane 11 a try and bought X-Camera, I was totally confused as the interface is too much different than Ezdok..glad I found your video, will follow your instructions and see how it goes. Thanks Q8pilot, your videos are always great and very helpful :)
As always BRILLIANT YOU help so Much with your videos I am 70yr and all I do is set my ipad next to my pc follow your videos It’s so easy for me Once again thank you kind regards
Great video. I've tried xcamera once, but it was confusing (beginning with view not moving around). You explain it and show what can be done with it. Installed it again and register it. Thank you again.
Great video. As a veteran of FSX and a student pilot, I decided I needed to get back in the flight sim world after a 10-year hiatus. I just picked up Xplane 11 a couple days ago and am in the process of tackling everything this beast has to offer. I'm also trying to gobble up all the good addons and such, and I must say your videos have really been helping me over the last few days.
Thanks for the great video. What frustrates me, is if you are at a certain view, and you moved the view say a bit to the left, it automatically saves the new view forever and assigned it the same view ID! It happened to you at 13:24 to 13:56. You saved the first officer correctly, then changed your view to look at the GPS, only to find that you lost first officer view and became a new unwanted GPS view!!
been watching your video on the Boeing 757 v2 is this really a good buy for my first big passenger plane. I am only flying the cessna 172 at the moment which is i have to say a great little plane. But i have fell in love with the 757 just by wathing your video more than once i have to say.
Thanks for all your efforts once again, you never disappoint. I too would be interested to have a peek at what it takes to create flight sim videos. Cheers!
Great as always! I don't know if there is already a video, but there are many new comers from P3D or FSX asking about best plugins, addons, scenery... and so on. Maybe you should create a special video for them so they don't feel "overwhelm" by the possibilities and we can refer to that video when someone new ask for that kind of stuff in the forums :) You could link your other videos for those ones that want specific information about one topic or another. Just an idea. :)
A great idea which I have been thinking about and probably left on the back burner for a while. Ok that's a 10-4. I will begin this as a series as well. Thanks a million for making a suggestion!
Thank you kindly for producing this comprehensive tutorial to a fantastic tool for creating awesome cinematic flight simulator videos! Very well done Sir! Cheers, Tim aka FS MaNiA
Thanks a lot for this tutorial. I've used XCamera but not this much. I am looking forward to install it again in XP11 and would love to see a behind the scenes Video!
Hi new to X plane so have a few question if I may. BTW your vids have been excellent really helped me get started. Ive just downloaded X camera (imac OS) my default position when start is outside the aircraft not my normal cockpit view, and mouse does not seem to change the viewpoint. I have changed to forward 3D view in settings. thks CB
Great Video. Everything seems easy after watching this, Well done. There is one view I tried to set up with X-Camera that would not work for me, That one was with the HUD. Do you know of a way to do this. Thanks, Cap't Kev X-Plane Addicted
Hi Osamah, thanks for another great vid! Helped a lot in configuring xcamera. Just a quick question. I configured my views for the 737 correctly and are working fine however when i am flying and just use my arrow key to shift a little bit it saves this position and that is is not what i want. Can i “lock” the saved views and positions so that they won’t change anymore? ( exept of course when i use the control panel). Thanks!
what about free camera, the same one as C in default XP camera. Is there that option at all? If yes, is it possible to change the speed of camera movement and smoothness? Thx!
For whatever reason this doesn't work for me, I pressed left CTRL and Num 1 to set Capt camera, and nothing happened. Please help. Great tutoring by the way. Keep it up.
One offtopic question: I try to figure out which key assignment I have to to use for the toe brakes. I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro. I would be thankful for an answer.
thank you Osamah ....I was waiting for this ,right now I m only using X camera primitive basics ...BTW I would be interested in how to create videoos.....
Got the hat switch sat exactly like described. The only thing that works is the down position which brings up the control panel. How do you move around in the cockpit and what do I have to do with the mouse after I pressed the coolie to another direction? Press the left/righ button and move the mouse? Sorry, but nothing works
Hi there , I am trying to configure my hotas joystick as yours but when assigning the second hat switch it will not allow me to edit input from x-cam , the only option it gives are : 1 do nothing 2 hat switch up 3 hat switch down 4 move view up Please help . By the way nice video
Question. SRS and X-camera commands do NOT show up under my choice for commands for my Warthog Joystick. They DO show up under Keyboard choices for Key assignment. I have the latest updates for X-Plane 11 installed. Any ideas as to why they don't show up under my joystick? I have the latest version of X-Camera 2.3 and it is a different version than that which you used for your video. Have you tried 2.3? Thanks. This was a great video, but seems that there have been changes to the program?
Q8Pilot Thanks for the response. I received a solution to the problem. The edit button would not appear until custom setting was selected. When you press on the newly appearing edit button, it permits you to access the SRS and X-Camera mapping. This was I believe from tech support when the guy was on vacation in Portugal. Amazing dedication.
I, with this video i create my custom wiews .many thanks. I have a problem,Also if i do an external categoty and i select external camera sometimes i can see the internal of the aircraft during smooth transition from one view to another... The second problem is that if i am on one visual and i move it without click save all, the custom view change the initial saved position.
Despite the fact that I never get to an "SRS" to be shown, I think it is fabulous. What am I omitting that SRS does not show up on my X-Plane 11? I'd be most appreciative if someone could help.
i just want a normal mouse view. using the middle mouse button resets the view when i release, i want it to stay so i can look up at the overhead, release the view and press buttons...
started great then imagine my chagrin when I find tetra none of ht commands talked about for the hat switch re even available for the alpha hat switch are even available kin xp 12 Suggestions would be appreciated

What a legend thank you

One offtopic question: I try to figure out which key assignment I have to to use for the toe brakes. I use the Logitech Extreme 3D Pro.
I would be thankful for an answer.

Hopefully in the near future.

Nice video, and no stutters and tearing. How much FPS did you get in X-Plane 11?
I saw the specs of your PC. That are great specs. I know understand why the views are so fluent.
Awesome video for newbies like mi. Thx
What airport is this? Amazing video mate, helped me a lot! Thanks
Alsolutely fantastic! Thanks
thank you Osamah ....I was waiting for this ,right now I m only using X camera primitive basics ...BTW I would be interested in how to create videoos.....
Thanks a million Jan, consider the series on for sure!
In my opinion, XP doesn't need a camera plugin. But either way, great video! Cheers from Brazil.
For video makers, it is a must, but for those who are only interested in flight, then it is of no use.
Exactly.
What airport is that looks great
Got the hat switch sat exactly like described. The only thing that works is the down position which brings up the control panel. How do you move around in the cockpit and what do I have to do with the mouse after I pressed the coolie to another direction? Press the left/righ button and move the mouse? Sorry, but nothing works

Thanks for watching Brandon, the airport is Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport (KPUW).
Hi there , I am trying to configure my hotas joystick as yours but when assigning the second hat switch it will not allow me to edit input from x-cam , the only option it gives are :
1 do nothing
2 hat switch up
3 hat switch down
4 move view up
Please help . By the way nice video
I have the same problem with the Hotas in XP 11.01. I find X-Camera unusable at the moment
Left - Right CTRL, does not matter for setting preset views.
I'm not a rookie, but still a nice video for those who are new to X-Plane.
Thanks for watching the video buddy!
Please DO do that series :D
7:00 Is there a faster way to zoom in / out ?

Oh yes several changes have been introduced since this video. The basic operation is the same, but new features have been added.
Thanks a ton sir!!!
Most welcome sir!
Yes please do the behind camera videos.
Will do for sure!

I'd be most appreciative if someone could help.
I would love to see a guide to making videos. Thank you. - PT
I actually started a series, but never finished part 3. Hopefully sometime in the near future.
Thanks, I'd look forward to it. - PT
i just want a normal mouse view. using the middle mouse button resets the view when i release, i want it to stay so i can look up at the overhead, release the view and press buttons...
