He and Susskind are models for how to do and communicate science. Wonderful man.

I am as much a fan of Lenny as anyone but Gell-Mann is a giant who head was in the clouds, feet on the ground.

They way this guy talked about Gell-Mann they should have immediately given him a Noble Prize. Yes, that was amusing.

Brilliant man, and as it is with such brilliance, his commentary will be as relevant for years as it was when he first made it. Unfortunately, economics and immorality will continue to be a major enemy of the quality of information. He mentions misinformation perpetuated online, but you also have politicians and business wanting to censor and control the internet.

1:55 "He began with a PhD from MIT.. like all good and serious people." Was James Burke referencing/quoting something here, or was it pure inanity?

We could perhaps elect them into positions of perceived high authority, where they can possibly produce less harm overall. - j q t -

Gell-Mann used to knock Feynman for talking about himself. Well, Dick stopped talking about himself in 1988. Fortunate or unfortunate Gell-Mann didn't stop talking about himself until 2019 - 31 years after complaining about Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman! Yes, Murray you were a bit of a phony.

You called "phony" one of the most respected and brilliant scientist of the last 150 years. Some nerve you got. So much for "quality of information". You opened your mouth and removed any doubt.

@@mbc4240 Not nerve - quality information. Yes, Gell-Mann was as I said: A bit of a phony. In your defense, you would not know why I said it because you are an ignoramus - in particular of the relationship between Gell-Mann and Feynman and why the word phony comes up. Now go way before your dullness wears off on me.

@@drbonesshow1 Actually I knew about the debate and chose not to take sides. I respect them both and prefer not to judge one way or another. You, on the other hand, are dumb. And you suck at tennis too.

@@mbc4240 You are an ignoramus. There was no debate that I was referring to. Dumb? Perhaps, but still smart enough to do things you could never do. Suck? Are you still sucking at the Altar of Cock? I never did.

@@drbonesshow1 and what exactly you think you can do that I cannot ? Exactly my point you blast your ass off and yet know nothing, I repeat nothing, about the people you talk about. Don't go too far, look at the posts and it seems to me you are the only one calling Gell-Mann "phony". Nobody bothered to answer because they are wiser than I am. Now I regret I bothered myself.

much of what he says does not contradict with a global direct democracy as a new layer of the subsidiarity principle and a voting system via the internet.
