yes this year was since they were under the at bat max total which kept them as rookies. They both started in 2016 season, since they were under the max at bats they were still considered rookies in 2017.
at 1:35, you have to be real old to remember this, but that guy Napoli is a dead ringer for Don Mincher. Mincher also played for the Angels (among other teams), but was left handed. The first guy, for Cleveland, hits a grand slam in his first at bat and nobody's excited-not him, not the announcers, no one in the park. Just ho hum. It must have been a one sided game at the time, but the score isn't up on the screen. I guess the fans wouldn't be excited, since the game is in Texas. The first guy I saw do this was Benny Ayala, for the Mets. If you know when Ayala did it, you can figure out how old I am.
I noticed that a lot of them were fastballs I think the pitchers underestimated them and tried to show them up a little bit because they were rookies and they were expecting a fastball.
What's funny is that pitch Hayward turned-on at 4:15 for a HR in his 1st AB, was the pitch he couldn't catch-up to last year and rendered him practically unplayable in the Postseason.
Not trying to take away from these great moments, but the pitchers don't have a scouting report on the hitters when it's their 1st at-bat. They don't know what the hitter can and can't hit.
Actually, grand slams are counted toward a player's home run total, and the hitter gets 4 RBIs for it (for driving in the 3 runners on base, plus himself.) Hope this helps!
The clips are too short. I'd rather see the entire at-bat, including the dugout celebration afterward. These short clips cut a lot of why we love baseball.
David Krueger was it the first at bat of the season, or first ever at bat? This compilation is first ever (rookie) at bat home runs, not first of the seadon
@@peytonkennedy9490 Fenway is 302 at the pole. People rarely ever hit pesky pole homers.. Fenway actually has the biggest right field in the MLB. That 's why when you see people hit homers out there, they usually only reach the bullpen.
@@peytonkennedy9490 Also, the place was built in 1912 man, so of course there's gonna be weird areas around. Yankee stadium has no excuse to build a wall that fucking short.. Place is only 10 years old.

TheLetsPlayBaseballCurse lol He doesn't know how to read it clearly says Milone on the back of his jersey and there is only one Milone that is still playing!! Tommy Milone
They were playing in rookie difficulty
Mitchell Stine (wow they r just super good)
Mitchell Stine lol
Milo Baseball its called a joke.
NO BEGINNER
Yah cause they’re technically rookies lol
It must have felt good to hit a home run in first at bat off of Randy Johnson
T Shuart and to left field too
T L S bro half of them are grand slams why
T L S the first time I played for Australia I hit a bomb first pitch
You mean cricket
Bro probably felt he was the next Babe Ruth after that
Tyler Austin and Aaron Judge back-to-back first at bat home runs. This is the type of stuff you see in video games.
When Austin went back in the dugout, I thought I saw Jeter in there. I thought this year was judge and Austin's rookie year.
I’m an astros fan but I gotta give to him.
klrod97 that’s Aaron hicks not jeter
yes this year was since they were under the atbat max total which kept them as rookies. They both started in 2016 season

Wonder if that guy Judge ever amounted to anything
John McNamara I would say so, 54 home runs in his first full seasob
yeah, he needs to cut down the K's and hed hit 80
davyt0247 he hit 52 not 54.
Eric Harper I thought he hit 2 in the post season for 54 total for the entire season, my bad
do you know what fucking sarcasm is
IMO, 4:11 is one of the greatest calls in MLB regular season history
Bartolo’s homerun call is better
gives me chills
Woah they made a game out of that call
@@gman2506yeah, they also made a game that sums up every call ever made by Tim McCarver.
Call Of Doodie.
Can say i witnessed tyler austin and aaron judge back to back
GburgerCardShow I’m jealous
me too yo
Just amazing! Can't imagine that feeling. Your first major league at bat playing for the New York Yankees in Yankee Stadium, and you hit it deep.
Those old school devil rays unis were sick
3:47 is pitcher Tommy Milone. It's so cool to see a pitcher hitting a home run in their first major league at-bat!
and adam wainwright
And Daniel Norris.

on the second clip, dude in the bullpen made a hell of a play lol
I noticed that a lot of them were fastballs I think the pitchers underestimated them and tried to show them up a little bit because they were rookies and they were expecting a fastball.
I remember watching Aaron Judge and Tyler Austin hitting the back to back homers! That isn't saying much though because that was only last year
evan1296 M Best memory last year 2nd best was tex walkoff
best so far this year was 14 -11 win then the 3 r hr by gard with 1 strike left I don't know which is better?
Welcome to the big leagues
Omg Adam Wainwright's 1st at bat was a home run lololololol
starlin castro also had a first at bat homerun, also broke a rookie debut rbi record with 8 (like jorge solers' it was in Cincinnati)
N Sco Ikr
AWA roids and he is now white
DunkKings 123 starlin castro isn't white lol
AWA ye dude the homer was a three run shot then he hit a three run triple
Look at Aaron Judge now
....?
Yea true
?

0:37 First at bat, first home run, on top of that: it was a grand slam!
Stro 6 quite a few of them were slams
Jordan schafer braves 2009 is missing. Remember watching that one live on tv
I was there when contreas hit his first dinger
SoperBlitzball League Go cubs! Those were some big titties right behind him too!
Connor Soper you cant even spell his name right.Smh
Home run off Randy Johnson on your first MLB at bat- CLUTCH!!!!!
My first hit was a homerun.....
In MLB the show
Same
Quite a few in the past they probably didn't have film of; like Gates Brown in 64' etc...
Gotta enjoy that elusive 5000 OPS while it lasts... Cool compilation.
Nothing more special than that!!!
Man I loved Daniel Nava’s swing, it was so smooth. Is he still in the league?
I was there for Heyward's BOMB!!! Turner field was shaking. I kid you not.
Wainwright with the shot to left was dope
I was at that game that Marcus Thames hit off Randy Johnson. Unbelievable is what comes to mind!
First major league pitch slammed for a homer against Randy Johnson. That’s Gotta feel insane
Adam Wainwright raking the first pitch of his career gone has me more than impressed
Marcus Thames.... imagine your first big league hit in your first ever at bat is a homer off Randy Johnson in his prime..
5:12 I like how they spelled his name wrong on the score panel.
Hi I'm not first but I wrote a comment
Isaac Ortega looks
You wrote a really great comment, Isaac. But SportsIndustry619's comment wasn't much at all.
Isaac Ortega ok????
When I watch a "first at bat home run compilation" video and I see freaking Waino. Lol
Not trying to take away from these great moments, but the pitchers don't have a scouting report on the hitters when it's their 1st at-bat. They don't know what the hitter can and can't hit.
Okay, hitting a homer on ur first major league at bat is impressive...but doing it off of Randy Johnson? Spectacular. Im shocked and bery impressed
I think Kaz Matsui had couple of seasons where he hit a HR in the first at-bat of the season
This video is not about that
I believe his first 3 MLB seasons he started with a 1st ab HR, with the 3rd being inside the park.
I knew Milone was going to be a star when I played in high school with him
You realize that the first three were grand slams?
If three runners are on base is it not a home run??
Hank Fairchild no
Oh, I forgot they don't count grand slams towards a players home run total. They also get 3 RBI's right? Thanks for clearing that up
Actually, grand slams are counted toward a player's home run total, and the hitter gets 4 RBIs for it (for driving in the 3 runners on base, plus himself.) Hope this helps!
Hank Fairchild 4 RBIS dingus
Welcome to the SHOW
Imagine your first homer and at bat is off of Randy Johnson....
Most of these. This is the only way anyone will remember there baseball life.
My man did it off Randy Johnson!!
Brandon Guyer homered in his first career at bat, then got hit by a pitch every at bat after lmao
I'm a die hard Boston fan, and Judge is amazing so far. I don't think he can keep up how good he has been, but he'll be close
E-Wrecked Gamer he didn't keep it up...lol
Devyn Schumacher he kept it up
He’s more than amazing
Devyn Schumacher kinda did idk where you've been but judge hit 52 hrs
Baller Life he went into a huge slump
0:03 joe buck of the mlb
But joe buck does mlb
I know I’m about to get wooshed
The clips are too short. I'd rather see the entire at-bat, including the dugout celebration afterward. These short clips cut a lot of why we love baseball.
Okay I love Waino, but why not Oscar??? It was a moonshot against the giants.
Trevor Story? Where is he at? Opening day 2016 in Arizona off Greinke. Come on man!
David Krueger was it the first at bat of the season, or first ever at bat? This compilation is first ever (rookie) at bat home runs, not first of the seadon
Eddie rosario hit that homer on the first pitch too
Kind of mad you didn't have Gene Stechschulte on this video. Search him up.
2017 judge was a monster he deserved MVP not cheater like altuve judge home runs where big .
4:30 I found Dallas Keuchel with no beard. And old Astros Uniforms.
Great compilation!
Utley's first hit was a grand slam but I don't know if it was his first ab
You had to save that last 2 for the last!!!!
notice how most pitches were fastballs right down the middle cause the ptichers tryna see if they good or not
When my dad was 11 he hit a first at bat / first swing on the year/ season
Three Yankees on here...I love it....
David Meyer I know right
what about Aaron judge this season!!! 💣 ⚾
I thought Jeter hit one out his first at bat????
Clint Walton no it was a single to right field
contreras hit that home run on the first pitch
I got my first grandslam homerun and it tide the game up
That Yankee stadium right field porch is ridiculous. It's like little league.
OptimusPrime571 Judges home run was a BOMB though
OptimusPrime571 whys everyone talk about yankee stadiums right field? Its 314 feet. For fuck sake fenway is 302
Peyton Kennedy so it’s impossible to talk about more than one? lmao. both can be considered little league, it’s not limited to yankee stadium

Farmerman 2006 oh yeah he was rockin the Afro before he went to Detroit
That has to be the best feeling in all of sports, right?
No
At least one of them!
Imagine hitting a grand slam walk off in your 1st at bat
Did that Yankees guy on Judges bomb seriously say "The Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati?"
Against the Cincinnati Reds in Cincinnati, the first part of the conversation was cut off.
Celebrity Waffle its Joe Torre
Names of the batters would be nice. The anouncers do not always say who it is!
Glenallen Hill: Grand slam first pitch for Blue Jays.
No Will Clark off Nolan Ryan?!?!
6:24 this is actually impossible. You don’t do this off RJ THE BIG UNIT
Why are there so many grand slams
What about Brandon Crawford???
That Marte Parte tho
Brandon Crawford hit a grand slam in his first at bat where is he?
5:16 it says Arebcibia instead of Arencibia*.
Gerardo Parra May 13, 2009?
This is nonsense. They cut each clip short and don't show the celebration. This compilation is a tribute to the announcers calling the play, not to the players.
2:40 white shirt 👌👍
How can you leave out Will Clark??
All down hill after this moment for most of those players
You forgot Carlos Lee and Miguel Olivo
First pitch grand slam sports are great.. so would a player going 0-30 and sent down everything
I want to be able to say mama I made it
Chase Utley?
4:11 Fools Gold
does anybody know the name of the guy who hit the homer at 4:11? Fantastic call.
That was Jason Heyward
Andrew Gonzalez sweet, thanks!
Andrew Gonzalez lol no its not
TheLetsPlayBaseballCurse lol He doesn't know how to read it clearly says Milone on the back of his jersey and there is only one Milone that is still playing!! Tommy Milone
Milo Baseball looked it up- a longer clip showed that it was Jason Heyward.
Never knew about wainwright
What about Tyler White
Anybody else realize that they all run to fast around the bases
4:25 6-3 in the bottom of the first.wow
Didn't know that their was a link to something with that
It's funny there was a met
4:59 to Skip Starling Marte... ya know.. cause drugs.
Do the fans give the ball back because its there first hit?
Santiboy112 most likely but they would have gotten something in compensation like an autographed ball or bat etc.
Traynor Granatire yep
Gooooooodbyeeee!!
8:26 the girl has to give the ball back to Profar
Milo Baseball yeah
Chase Utley grand slam???
The devil rays ended in 2008 this is old
Bro you're freaking everywhere.
Koooooozmanoff!
