It is I the then anrgy person from 0:38 - 1:37 I don't hate the game I still play it regularly but I do get frustrated with IS, SSS and other limited gamemodes. I wish to provide extra context and to share my experience. My complaints with IS is 1: RNG, I know I can't do a stage with my current set of units so I chose the other path only to get a harder version of the stage, it happened frequently to me. 2: Long Grind; I probably got 1 or maybe 2 copies of Salem, I did not want to grind through the very long level system or the nodes for extra stats, while monthly contracts do help speed things up I still did not want to spend countless hours doing that. Dealing with RNG that puts you into losing situations and seeing the same stages over and over again is annoying. Out of pure luck I think I got one of the unique endings but not the regular one. Never beat it again since I never got good artifacts. For SSS I can consistently reach stage 4 but I am forced to put random and usually useless operators on my team, many players have complained and found out an efficient way to farm is to complete stage 3 and then reset but I know my team can beat stage 4 yet the RNG causes me to fail wasting my time when I have beaten it many times before. I also do not like doing it over a dozen times. 1:32 The tip you gave does sound useful and I gave it a few tries but with somehow worse results, I don't know the ratio of units to use yet but now I struggle with stage 3 instead of 4. Further testing is needed but with a fairly new and biased experience it does not seem better compared to what I was doing before and RNG still gives me a bad hand. There was another gamemode I forgot the name of that made you use certain operators in a series of maps but you could not reused the operators on other maps. At the time I did have a small roster and my complaint about that gamemode is it forced people to spend their resources on units they normally wouldn't use which is a trend the other limited time gamemodes use and from what I can tell all of them has had many complaints which is why they are eventually removed. SSS if I'm remembering right has had some changes that made it less frustrating yet on Global instead of having the good changes we get the version that the non-global servers already struggled with and complained about. 2:29 I genuinely do not believe this. Stat inflation adds artificial difficulty which means it's just unfair and does not reward skill or decision making too much. I've done no-hit runs of Dark Souls, Soul Level 1 and I've beaten Sekiro + gauntlets with Demon Bell and Charmless, I prefer the fromsoft approach to game design and while they do have stat inflation it's used more to keep enemies relative to a player's stats by the time they reach that point in the game. I remember playing Anthem on the highest difficulty and it took me a solid 5 minutes of shooting a braindead AI to finally beat them to make matters worse it was also the weakest type of enemy so I had to repeat the process per enemy. Half Life enemy AI design was also very good as when I hid in a house the soldiers would toss in a grenade, pile around the entrances and a shotgun soldier + two sub machinegun soldiers would rush in after the explosive which forced you to take encounters seriously and play smartly, enemies did not oneshot you or take nearly 0 damage from you. Heck I remember one time in Ninja Gaiden I mismanaged my money so I had no healing items which forced me to fight 3-4 bosses in a row almost perfectly. I prefer all of these over stat inflation and look fondly at these moments. 1:27 I never said the game was hard nor do I believe that personally but due to RNG forcing you to redo the optional stages I will say I find it unfair at times which is why I also believe the game doesn't respect the player's time. I think the only two gamemodes I like is Contingency Contract and Annihilation since you don't have to redo CC too much and Annihilation can be put to auto finish for the weekly Orundum. CC isn't too grindy for me and even if it was you can chose the reward you want instead of spamming it 100 times until you unlock a skin for example.
Love this comment, man. SSS is the worst and most unfun game mode, and even as someone who played from the first month. Although this is mostly because I don't default to using gigabroken units like my fully built Chalter, and I keep using Passenger as the only dps cuz I like him a lot lol. I can still clutch all the rewards every other week if I keep to floor 5 max and borrow a Goldenglow support, so I dont absolutely hate it. Retrying floor 4-5 gives out enough rewards that I can finish it within 3 tries
i do like SSS but only because my roster is suitable for it and they are the same units i really enjoy using i did think that they couldve put more variety in making it difficult instead of just increasing stats so it would be more fitting to be like a card gamemode
Okay you and I are the same. I don't like IS and SSS. I mean, I could play it but it takes so much time, effort and RNG. Still, for me at least those game modes have no effect on my gameplay so I don't find them troublesome.
the hate for SSS is understandable, but i think IS is not RNG riddled. you can just borrow thorns e2 lvl50 s3m3 then play with a bunch of 3 star + jaye/gravel, ez win with minimal rng (at least thats how i play). may i ask the level of your acc and how many e2 you have?
I honestly do not want to believe you but my own friend who like Arknights literally not deploy medic in a medic turtorial because "no dps", say Vigna is better than Bagpipe, use Vigna as a defender, use Angelina as a dedicated sniper and think Surtr is useless.

I love arknights for it's unique take on tower defense games. 1 of each operator so you can't spam them, skills instead of upgrading them during a level and enemies that actually attack your operators. It's so different from other tower defense games and the characters are so likeable.

I remember the time when for a long while my only six stars were Hoshi (amazing) and Magellan (I barely use her to this day). So I feel the guy who only got two six stars. But then my noob luck kicked in and I got W in a ten pull without even knowing she was a limited character.
I feel like they should update the beginner banner a bit, I don't think Shining and Nightingale should be in there. Also change Hoshiguma with Saria and newer players would have a nicer early game and would be more likely to stay. I mean when do you really need Shining or Nightgale, they are too specific and get outclassed by Ptilopsis and Warfarin in general content and as a simpe single target healer Shining might even get outclassed by Sussuro.
@@antialpaka1186 Nightingale have legitimate endgame usage due to heavy hitting arts damage threats and is featured in high risk if there is arts damage, but I agree that a newbie won't be using her effectively. She is a character you appreciate more as the game goes on. Shining however suffers from the exact opposite as she is too overkill to matter in the early-game and physical damage becomes a non-issue by the end-game. She is the worst start you can have because her role is easily replaceable, and the defining gimmick she have have yet to find a place in today's meta where physical damage is either too dangerous to handle even with her buff, or too minuscule that an alternate medic would bring more to your team.
I actually didnt like AK a while back. I couldnt get into the story and i really disliked the autobattle system. I tried to get into it, but i couldnt. I ended up installing and uninstalling the game multiple times, playing it for like a week or so, then quiting for months inbetween. After doing such for like 5 times in total, I finally got the hang of it. I found that i really liked the story and the strategic gameplay really spoke to me as an RTS fan. I still kind of get irked at the autobattle, but its def more of a nitpick than an actual criticism/flaw of the game. Now ive been playing for 2 months and am thoroughly enjoying the experience.
man just forgot the good old fang and vanilla combo. but auto-repenting-auto-clear stage system like on ptn or alchemy stars is a good idea tho, or sweep system like on blue archive would be nice. at least only on supply stage like lmd, red cert, exp, etc.
I think its really good if they dont just put a limit for daily like 5 or to 10, farm event stage really take time but glad they put on annilihation mode
the only things i can complain about arknights is some of the elite material like grindstone is so hard to get cuz of the drop rate of the material is so rng, not to mention you only have like 135 sanity while the stage cost 18-21 sanity

Love that most 1* reviews just boil down to one of these: -SSS is garbage. Tbf I completely agree but the gamemode is optional and you can get the module mats in other ways. -Missed a crucial aspect of the game and complains because they are illiterate. -Complains that they have to play the game to be able to play the game. -Completely misguided expectations carried over from elsewhere. I get that the game is not perfect and there definitely are many constructive negative reviews but most of these just scream "I have no clue what I'm talking about and have 0 qualification to review the game".

Damn, it's rare to see a reasonable take among arknights players when dealing with criticism. Also, this video has shown mostly poor quality reviews because he knows that's what many arknights players want to see and hear. Surely there are more legit reviews to show, why doesn't he show more of those instead? Instead he insults reviewers (sometimes deserved, sometimes not) because he wants to feel superior. Pathetic behaviour, perhaps even on the same level as those unfair reviews shown.

Nope, making fun of gachas for having auto sweep really shows you aren't a genius at all. Any game worth playing should have good QoL so you can focus less on tedious farming and more on the actual gameplay. I agree that some of these reviews are silly, but a few do bring up legitimate points that everyone seems to just ignore. I've seen denial and refusal to acknowledge Arknights' faults a lot, so many players love to whiteknight for Hypergryph even though it's sometimes so obvious that things could be better. You don't test your skills by farming rocks for the billionth time, you test it by clearing new stages and eventually endgame modes. HG should just add a sweep function, though they at least added a 6x auto-deploy feature after 4 years. Yeah, it took them THIS long to implement something so simple and people still think they're so great. Arknights' gameplay, though not always perfect, is undeniably challenging but the game has its faults. I just wish the playerbase would acknowledge that more, but instead I've met many that egotistically refuse to admit the game's faults and even advocate for them.
Some of the reviews do seem like they need to get a better grasp of the game before reviewing, but some are also legit complaints. Unfortunately many players in the arknights community love feeling superior to everyone else and believe they're always right. I've talked to quite a few and the lengths they will go to to defend the game is crazy. The "if you're a critic it just means you're too dumb for arknights, Hypergryph is perfect and can do no wrong" attitude is too prevalent. One guy said that I have ADHD just because I criticized the game's lack of sweep function and bad limited operator gacha.
I think the thing about Arknights is it's either the ONE fucking game you've been looking for this whole time and it occupies you for months then years (speaking from experience) or the relative difficulty + strategy requirement + early game hell(!) shafts you and discourages most new players (i almost gave up on this game early on as well, thank god i didn't) So basically, you either absolutely love it or hate it, no in-betweens.

i do have some easy time when pulling gacha in this game most of time but few of them kinda painfull. i mean if i wanna snipe one operator its kinda hard. i do want rosemontis because her base skill fit with my other ops but nope, never get her. i spend like 160 roll on golden glow and get nothing then suddenly random 10 pull yesterday got her, feels like a clown. tho i never have hard time in most stage but when i wanna snipe that one operator always misserable. so yea AK gacha feels so bad for me if i compare to something like GBF, Pricon, Alchemy Star. Genshin is kinda bad at the gacha resource but their system gacha good if you dont count the weapon. tho both genshin and AK is crack on their *4 so you wont be suffering if you dont have like 7-10 *6 ops/ *5 gacha character.

I recommended this to some alliance mates of mine in MSF, I've played arknights since America server launch and love it still, and some of them tried it. They played for ten minutes then said it was to confusing and hard and gave up. These were adults mind you.
Flaws of arknights? 1. SSS is good on paper but in practice is horrible. Cause if you don't have fully leveled account you kinda screwed. Now if it was just like the Tutorial it. That would be fun and they don't have to give me any rewards. 2. IS leans way to heavy on RNG. Think some common items need a buff or at least boost in finding them or ones I want. 3. Story is chore to read. Like I hear it's good but oh I just do not care. Maybe a text to speech reader would be cool. Kal'sit PLEASE GET TO THE POINT! 4. GIVE ME THOSE DAMN GRAY minerals, in certs store. 5. Seaborn screw seaborn. Literally drop a nuke and whatever pollution into Terras oceans. Screw Seaborn. Worse enemy type always. Overall AK is the best tower defense game out there.
SSS is pretty wack for sure though, I do agree with that. It's a tedious and annoying mode play with the same old recycle low dp Operator strat everyone uses.
YES, the game has a problem with the level design, not everyone is galaxy brain player to solve the stages, that's why guides are so popular on AK, so what we do with those people? They can't play? AK players become elitist who make fun of people who for whatever reason can't clear a hard stage? Having sanity limit how much you can play + stages needing many trys to find a way you can beat it for yourself can easily annoy people who just wants to have fun. Bu yeah go on, keep pushing that big brain elitism on the community, it will do well when others start tagging AK players as toxic fans.
one of the things arknights does that i never seen in other gotchas is the one time guarantee 5* or higher isn't limited only to the multi-draws its guaranteed to give you a 5 or 6* if you didnt get anything after "any" ten draws on a banner. also the guarantee isnt behind 100+ draws lastly while its not the best way to get the shards you can farm the shards without jumping through a ton of hoops, just get rocks and wait.
Well, about gacha rates, it's kinda true that they aren't that good. Yes, we have 2% chance for 6*, when in other games it's 1% or less, but to get to 100% chance for 6* we would need to do 99 pulls, and in genshin (if i do remember correctly) it's 80 pulls for guaranteed 6*. The bigger problem is that we don't have a 100% chance to get operator from the banner, when we pull 6* it's 50% chance to be from the banner, or be off banner. And even if we lose that 50% and getting off banner 6*, unlike genshin there's no guaranteed 6* from the banner in next time we pull 6*. So in theory it's possible to spend 1000+ pulls and still don't get the 6* operator from the banner. Yeah, the odds of that are close to none existing, but it's possible.
2% mean a 6* in 50 pulls, with 50/50 rate you need at least 100 pulls to get rated ops unless you're very unlucky. Unlike genshin, AK's summon mats is very easy to farm, you can save 60k orondum in 2 month (with 1-7 farm) . There's no guarantee in banner but you get guarantee ops in gold cert shop with 180 certs which again very easy to farm.
@@thundercat7809 correction: 50/50% chance for 6* is at 78 pulls, because it's 2% base and stays at 2% untill you pull 50 times with no 6* and only after that you will get +2% more chance for 6*. So, once again, in genshin at 80 pulls 6* is guaranteed, but in Arknights it's 54% chance, which isn't low, but still lower than 100%. Don't get me wrong, i love Arknights for it's gameplay and dropped genshin 1.5 years ago, but gacha system in genshin is better. I play waifu>meta and just want my Kalt'sit and Reed alter, and last banner with Kalt'sit was with also Mountain, Skadi and someone else, 25% chance with no guaranteed chance to get her, for f2p 180 gold certificates is A LOT and if i do remember correctly - she wasn't even in certificates shop. And let's say there will be another banner with Kalt'sit and some another random operator. What if in certificates shop will be this random and not her? My point is gacha in genshin is better - "want next 6*? Collect about 120 pulls or 160 just in case and he/she is yours, go get them tiger!" While in Arknights it's "well, theres shit tone of different type of banners, maybe we will put her on banner where there will be no other 6*, or maybe not, maybe we will put her in the banners with her only AND at the same time release another banner and in certificate shop will be operators from that other banners. You mad? Gonna cry? Not our problem".
While technically arknights does have "worse" rate for specific characters (as in doesn't have afailsafe on the 50% of the gacha). Arknights does have ways of guaranteeing characters that won't cost endless pulls. A.K.A the Gold certificate shop for 180 gold certs and the paid selector ticket (30 dollar or so?) for any non limited units. Gold certificates on average generate at a rate of 1 pull = 1 gold certificate. and also partially can be farmed totally F2P in recruitment (and sometimes even get's given out as an reward for annihilation.) The only problem that shop has is that newer units don't appear until 2024 in that shop. However this can be used to catch up to old units. here comes the paid selector ticket...which has a much bigger choice of units including some "newer" ones. Also for the few limited units they do have a hard pity of 300 pulls to get them. Hell unlike genshin, arknights doesn't really need duplicates so with 1 copy of each character you get them at 99% of their power.

I wish there's better* way to get Orundums tbh, like even the level up prize is borderline nothing (just sanity bonus), i guess maybe I'm still fixed with how other gacha games are.
Dailys+ Weeklys + Anihilations give about 3000 orunduns in a week, so you can do roughly 20 pulls a month just from the free orunduns. I think its fine considering events + permits + certificates are a thing and you can get even more pulls just by playing, it makes the f2p experience pretty good.

I don't want to hear anyone complain about Arknights gacha, I've played FGO for roughly 3 years and they didn't even have a pity system until two years ago (in the JP version at least, EN/global should get it this year). And the pity isn't even good, you need 300 pulls for a 70% chance to get the rate up servant and there is no soft pity of any kind, you either go 300 summons or you pray for thar 1% chance. Also roughly 2/3 to 2.5/3 of all their 5 star units (for the people that don't know it's the FGO equivalent to a 6 star) are limited, hell they even have event limited 3 star units, imagine 3 star Kroos being limited. Add to that that the pity doesn't carry over and resets after every banner and you have one of, if not the worst gacha system ever. But there are still people who defend it .... god I'm happy that I stopped playing that game.
Those not respect your time is not only for sss. The problem in this game is you cannot skip, and is wasting your time. If your team composition is the same and your level is the same, and no change what soever in the team stats, you should allow to skip rather waiting the shit again

Is it safe to say that arknights as a game right now had a lot of changes, to the point that new players didn't understand the meaning of every QoL features they see in the game and overwhelmed by those features, so they just assume the QoL features are meaningless ? I mean, i kinda understand that feeling....
i am a week1 player and i used to dislike it (i dont understand the gameplay, AT ALL :)) but after a few months, i got back, try to understand the game, started to like it alot, and play it until today :) i still watch guides, usually on the hardest stages (event bosses etc) i tried different operators from IS/support unit, which makes me know which random character i want to level up :) back then, my 6* are only ange & mostima, and i barely use them. now, after getting bunch of stronger 5*&6*, i never use ange again...
I guess some people want to jump to the end game right away and expect to win. For me, IS, SSS, and the TN were so easy. Of course, I have the most meta operators. Also, even new players can get the SSS rewards from events if they farm the currency of the events. I know learning the game takes time, but once you see a lot of guides, you will be able to do it. For me IS I got my own strategy to do it. Even the challenges they put took a time to do it, but it was possible.
Arknights isn’t perfect by any means but after so many years, im genuinely addicted lol the story is great, music is top tier, characters are unique, gameplay wise it’s fun since you make up your own strat, new game modes keep it interesting for me, etc. Honestly, my only issues is that I wish they would bring back the multiplayer event they had back when R6S collab happened. I have a friend irl who got me into arknights, so when that event came out we were constantly hanging out irl so we can form strategies in real time. It was really fun and helping other players was a blast too, other than that it’s just little nitpicks I have here and there. Another thing that I won’t forgive or forget though was when they got rid of Ai Kayano (va for Platinum) over some chinese politics. Not only did she do nothing wrong, the people over at the cn server bitched so much that yostar caved and fired Ai. Not only was she my personal favorite in the game but also as a va in general (Darkness from KonoSuba), so imo cn server should have it there way and en should have it our way. Since most of us didn’t care about her post that she had made, but regardless, I’ve invested too much time and money on the game and genuinely loved it too much to quit. TLDR: I really don’t have any issues with Arknights as I love the game, imo I feel like there should be a multiplayer option (not PvP) as they’ve done it before and I want Ai Kayano back as the va for Platinum.
A real reason to hate the game would probably be that one incident where they fired Platinum's voice actor for visiting a controversial japanese shrine (of which she had no idea about at the time, mind you) and posting about it on social media. This was all because a very vocal minority of cn "fans" wanted to farm the sweet social credit score, and the devs pretty much had to bend the knee or else face the wrath of the ccp.. It's ridiculous. Kayano Ai's pretty much blacklisted by most cn game companies nowadays. I'd say good riddance on her part, but i'm assuming those roles helped pay the bills.
Personally have my grips with the game, here are some, while the rates for acquiring 6 characters is good, the fact that pity for guaranteed rate up standard op is non existent, there is no way to 100% guarantee you will get them and if you are extremally unlucky and loose EVERY 50/50, you can spend thousands and really never see the character, while obviously a very rare situation to have, the existence of this situations kind of just throws out the whole ''fairest gacha game'' argument out of the window, cause it's not. Limited ops are a whole other thing, while I appreciate the exitance of actual pity, 300 pulls for a game like this is STEEP. Unless you save a least a 6 to a year in advance, as f2p, there is no way you will reach pity unless you sell your soul and time to this game. QOL is also non existent, when compared to other games. Yes, compared to launch, game has gotten better in that regards but also it's one of the worst gacha games in terms of QOL. The non existence of auto tickets being a massive pain, if you beat it once, why should I have to redo it all over again, on auto, it's just going to do the same exact shit I just did to clear it and, surprise surprise, it cleared the stage, I know, shocker. I don't know why after 3 years, this has still not been added to the game, this makes grinding such a pain and I'm kind of just wasting my time away grinding at stages or resource stages to get a small bit of what I want, especially since some stages can take a minute or three to clear and when you need to clear them a lot, it's just gets annoying. Those are my grips with the game, game is good, but it's not the best gacha game out there, it's okay for what it is, but there is sooooooooooo much room for improvement

Not really, most gacha game community will one way or another relate to Genshin as it is the biggest one out there. Not that it's a bad thing though, it's just a natural thing to happen

Seriously some of the comments are correct. SSS is random and difficulty is just enemy stats off the charts. It is manageable but then we have the anniversary event, SSS, trials for navigator at the same time. And many people don't really want to spend hours playing all of those modes which are ok by themselves but not when they are thrown at you at the same time altogether. That doesn't justify 1 star review though because these are minor issues in the end and the game is still great it's just too much going at once right now.

I like how there's so many more games that BEG you to replace your whole day for time in the game *cough* genshin, and I'd say as a day one player AK has one of the rarer generous gacha rates, ofc even when rng screws u over, but thats par for the course for gacha games. You don't even need majority of the cast to complete the game. IMO, if the Arknight grinding is easy, soon that would be the dead game. Because the fun of Arknights is when we think hard to finish the stage, Wait so long to upgrade operator, Base etc. Then when we finally made it, it is statisfy. So, for new players go uninstall and delete account if you don't like it. Imagine you quit rage in tower defense game and give 1 star 💀. So weak.

There are many valid points in those 1* reviews but one should take the game in it's whole and have played long enought before giving a feedback. Even with all the flaws the game doesn't deserve a 1*. There are cons but pros too. What disturbs me a bit is the copy trend around the game. Frosbyte should you pull has been copied, there is a wave of reactions videos of ppl who don't event play the game since some time, and now this after Eckogen made a similar video few days ago...
There's not that many angles you can look at for content for this game (content that people are actually looking for.) Yeah, Eckogen did this vid first this week, and if Spiefie was aware of that he should've said "check out his video after it inspired me to do this" but oh well. It's not like it's a big brain original idea that nobody else would've done. Frostbyte's "should you pull" videos are just new operator reviews which - it doesnt matter who started doing those first - analysis of upcoming characters is a thing for every gacha game and its totally fine if 50 people do them
Tbf some of those complains are valid, ignoring the complains about difficulty I agree in some critics like the fact that Ak rates are not that great and that the game can still use some QOL features. The rate for 6 stars is good, but the problem is that there is not a hard pity for them and in case of limited banners the spark is way to high. Also I wish we could auto the base bcs that thing has been on beta since release and while we do get some nice rewards from it, going into it and rotating the op on the facilities feels like a chore. Also, pls get rid of SSS I just dont like the mode. At least let us auto it bcs I really cant be bothered to play that thing every 2 weeks ty
The only thing i hate so far is just those event are not even playable any more remember the co op game mode,the one with garrison mechanic, the r6, chen event and limted banner also the old stage for side story , old cc remember those ?

If he plays defenderknights, he should've understand that DP issues comes naturally with the package, though. And even then, it's still possible to block early mobs with low rarity/lowest cost defender(s) then scale to the higher ones unless there's DP regen down condition.

I have wandered to many social media and stream channels, the most reason they don't like AK is either the game is a chibi model, or the game is TD, maybe both.
Dunno about the stages needing guides so they give 1 star review. Breaking news is not every player has the same specific characters and would STILL use their brains while watching a guide since they may or may not own the characters on the said guide.
All 1* comments are people with skill issue's. And from my 2 years of experiencing this game. I would say the game is seriously very rewarding for old and new players.

The opinion can be considered valid, however the people writing these comments seems like they have barely touched the game, like for 2 seconds and after that took what they understood or experienced in that small window of playing and put it like it's the reality of the game despite everything. They can be wrong on many points and irrational while being, from a personal standpoint, totally respected in the way they are displayed and brought up when referencing a disagreement for something said by them.

4:30 Honestly, when i got Myrtle i butbnever use her because I had Siege and Blacknight as main Vanguard, but in higher difficult stage i always fail, so i asking my friend who also play AK, i asked him about best vanguard and he said Myrtle, and he asked back about if i have her, i say yes but never use her, and my friend said build her, so i build her and yep finally i complete difficult stages using her till today. I don't hate the game I still play it regularly but I do get frustrated with IS, SSS and other limited gamemodes.
I wish to provide extra context and to share my experience.
My complaints with IS is 1: RNG, I know I can't do a stage with my current set of units so I chose the other path only to get a harder version of the stage, it happened frequently to me. 2: Long Grind; I probably got 1 or maybe 2 copies of Salem, I did not want to grind through the very long level system or the nodes for extra stats, while monthly contracts do help speed things up I still did not want to spend countless hours doing that. Dealing with RNG that puts you into losing situations and seeing the same stages over and over again is annoying. Out of pure luck I think I got one of the unique endings but not the regular one. Never beat it again since I never got good artifacts.
For SSS I can consistently reach stage 4 but I am forced to put random and usually useless operators on my team, many players have complained and found out an efficient way to farm is to complete stage 3 and then reset but I know my team can beat stage 4 yet the RNG causes me to fail wasting my time when I have beaten it many times before. I also do not like doing it over a dozen times.
1:32 The tip you gave does sound useful and I gave it a few tries but with somehow worse results, I don't know the ratio of units to use yet but now I struggle with stage 3 instead of 4. Further testing is needed but with a fairly new and biased experience it does not seem better compared to what I was doing before and RNG still gives me a bad hand.
There was another gamemode I forgot the name of that made you use certain operators in a series of maps but you could not reused the operators on other maps. At the time I did have a small roster and my complaint about that gamemode is it forced people to spend their resources on units they normally wouldn't use which is a trend the other limited time gamemodes use and from what I can tell all of them has had many complaints which is why they are eventually removed. SSS if I'm remembering right has had some changes that made it less frustrating yet on Global instead of having the good changes we get the version that the non-global servers already struggled with and complained about.
2:29 I genuinely do not believe this. Stat inflation adds artificial difficulty which means it's just unfair and does not reward skill or decision making too much. I've done no-hit runs of Dark Souls, Soul Level 1 and I've beaten Sekiro + gauntlets with Demon Bell and Charmless, I prefer the fromsoft approach to game design and while they do have stat inflation it's used more to keep enemies relative to a player's stats by the time they reach that point in the game. I remember playing Anthem on the highest difficulty and it took me a solid 5 minutes of shooting a braindead AI to finally beat them to make matters worse it was also the weakest type of enemy so I had to repeat the process per enemy. Half Life enemy AI design was also very good as when I hid in a house the soldiers would toss in a grenade, pile around the entrances and a shotgun soldier + two sub machinegun soldiers would rush in after the explosive which forced you to take encounters seriously and play smartly, enemies did not oneshot you or take nearly 0 damage from you. Heck I remember one time in Ninja Gaiden I mismanaged my money so I had no healing items which forced me to fight 3-4 bosses in a row almost perfectly. I prefer all of these over stat inflation and look fondly at these moments.
1:27 I never said the game was hard nor do I believe that personally but due to RNG forcing you to redo the optional stages I will say I find it unfair at times which is why I also believe the game doesn't respect the player's time.
I think the only two gamemodes I like is Contingency Contract and Annihilation since you don't have to redo CC too much and Annihilation can be put to auto finish for the weekly Orundum. CC isn't too grindy for me and even if it was you can chose the reward you want instead of spamming it 100 times until you unlock a skin for example.
Love this comment, man. SSS is the worst and most unfun game mode, and even as someone who played from the first month. Although this is mostly because I don't default to using gigabroken units like my fully built Chalter, and I keep using Passenger as the only dps cuz I like him a lot lol.
I can still clutch all the rewards every other week if I keep to floor 5 max and borrow a Goldenglow support, so I dont absolutely hate it. Retrying floor 4-5 gives out enough rewards that I can finish it within 3 tries

I love arknights for it's unique take on tower defense games. 1 of each operator so you can't spam them, skills instead of upgrading them during a level and enemies that actually attack your operators. It's so different from other tower defense games and the characters are so likeable.

I feel like they should update the beginner banner a bit, I don't think Shining and Nightingale should be in there. Also change Hoshiguma with Saria and newer players would have a nicer early game and would be more likely to stay. I mean when do you really need Shining or Nightgale, they are too specific and get outclassed by Ptilopsis and Warfarin in general content and as a simpe single target healer Shining might even get outclassed by Sussuro.

@@antialpaka1186 Nightingale have legitimate endgame usage due to heavy hitting arts damage threats and is featured in high risk if there is arts damage, but I agree that a newbie won't be using her effectively. She is a character you appreciate more as the game goes on.
Shining however suffers from the exact opposite as she is too overkill to matter in the early-game and physical damage becomes a non-issue by the end-game. She is the worst start you can have because her role is easily replaceable, and the defining gimmick she have have yet to find a place in today's meta where physical damage is either too dangerous to handle even with her buff, or too minuscule that an alternate medic would bring more to your team.
People complaining about only getting 2 6 stars to start with when my only 6 star for a long time was Exu.
I actually didnt like AK a while back. I couldnt get into the story and i really disliked the autobattle system. I tried to get into it, but i couldnt. I ended up installing and uninstalling the game multiple times, playing it for like a week or so, then quiting for months inbetween. After doing such for like 5 times in total, I finally got the hang of it. I found that i really liked the story and the strategic gameplay really spoke to me as an RTS fan. I still kind of get irked at the autobattle, but its def more of a nitpick than an actual criticism/flaw of the game. Now ive been playing for 2 months and am thoroughly enjoying the experience.

Damn, it's rare to see a reasonable take among arknights players when dealing with criticism. Also, this video has shown mostly poor quality reviews because he knows that's what many arknights players want to see and hear. Surely there are more legit reviews to show, why doesn't he show more of those instead? Instead he insults reviewers (sometimes deserved, sometimes not) because he wants to feel superior. Nope, making fun of gachas for having auto sweep really shows you aren't a genius at all. Any game worth playing should have good QoL so you can focus less on tedious farming and more on the actual gameplay. I agree that some of these reviews are silly, but a few do bring up legitimate points that everyone seems to just ignore.
I've seen denial and refusal to acknowledge Arknights' faults a lot, so many players love to whiteknight for Hypergryph even though it's sometimes so obvious that things could be better. You don't test your skills by farming rocks for the billionth time, you test it by clearing new stages and eventually endgame modes. HG should just add a sweep function, though they at least added a 6x auto-deploy feature after 4 years. Yeah, it took them THIS long to implement something so simple and people still think they're so great.
Arknights' gameplay, though not always perfect, is undeniably challenging but the game has its faults. I just wish the playerbase would acknowledge that more, but instead I've met many that egotistically refuse to admit the game's faults and even advocate for them.

The "if you're a critic it just means you're too dumb for arknights, Hypergryph is perfect and can do no wrong" attitude is too prevalent. One guy said that I have ADHD just because I criticized the game's lack of sweep function and bad limited operator gacha.

i do have some easy time when pulling gacha in this game most of time but few of them kinda painfull. i mean if i wanna snipe one operator its kinda hard. i do want rosemontis because her base skill fit with my other ops but nope, never get her. i spend like 160 roll on golden glow and get nothing then suddenly random 10 pull yesterday got her, feels like a clown. tho i never have hard time in most stage but when i wanna snipe that one operator always misserable. so yea AK gacha feels so bad for me if i compare to something like GBF, Pricon, Alchemy Star. Genshin is kinda bad at the gacha resource but their system gacha good if you dont count the weapon. tho both genshin and AK is crack on their *4 so you wont be suffering if you dont have like 7-10 *6 ops/ *5 gacha character.

I recommended this to some alliance mates of mine in MSF, I've played arknights since America server launch and love it still, and some of them tried it. They played for ten minutes then said it was to confusing and hard and gave up. These were adults mind you.
Flaws of arknights?
1. SSS is good on paper but in practice is horrible. Cause if you don't have fully leveled account you kinda screwed. Now if it was just like the Tutorial it. That would be fun and they don't have to give me any rewards.
2. IS leans way to heavy on RNG. Think some common items need a buff or at least boost in finding them or ones I want.
3. Story is chore to read. Like I hear it's good but oh I just do not care. Maybe a text to speech reader would be cool. Kal'sit PLEASE GET TO THE POINT!
4. GIVE ME THOSE DAMN GRAY minerals, in certs store.
5. Seaborn screw seaborn. Literally drop a nuke and whatever pollution into Terras oceans. Screw Seaborn. Worse enemy type always.

YES, the game has a problem with the level design, not everyone is galaxy brain player to solve the stages, that's why guides are so popular on AK, so what we do with those people? They can't play? AK players become elitist who make fun of people who for whatever reason can't clear a hard stage?
Having sanity limit how much you can play + stages needing many trys to find a way you can beat it for yourself can easily annoy people who just wants to have fun.

one of the things arknights does that i never seen in other gotchas is the one time guarantee 5* or higher isn't limited only to the multi-draws its guaranteed to give you a 5 or 6* if you didnt get anything after "any" ten draws on a banner. also the guarantee isnt behind 100+ draws lastly while its not the best way to get the shards you can farm the shards without jumping through a ton of hoops, just get rocks and wait.

Well, about gacha rates, it's kinda true that they aren't that good.
Yes, we have 2% chance for 6*, when in other games it's 1% or less, but to get to 100% chance for 6* we would need to do 99 pulls, and in genshin (if i do remember correctly) it's 80 pulls for guaranteed 6*.
The bigger problem is that we don't have a 100% chance to get operator from the banner, when we pull 6* it's 50% chance to be from the banner, or be off banner. And even if we lose that 50% and getting off banner 6*, unlike genshin there's no guaranteed 6* from the banner in next time we pull 6*. So in theory it's possible to spend 1000+ pulls and still don't get the 6* operator from the banner. Yeah, the odds of that are close to none existing, but it's possible.
It's only 99 pulls for a 6* in a purely technical vacuum. You will probably get that 6* in 80 pulls or even less unless your luck is just that bad
2% mean a 6* in 50 pulls, with 50/50 rate you need at least 100 pulls to get rated ops unless you're very unlucky. Unlike genshin, AK's summon mats is very easy to farm, you can save 60k orondum in 2 month (with 1-7 farm) . There's no guarantee in banner but you get guarantee ops in gold cert shop with 180 certs which again very easy to farm.
@@thundercat7809 correction: 50/50% chance for 6* is at 78 pulls, because it's 2% base and stays at 2% untill you pull 50 times with no 6* and only after that you will get +2% more chance for 6*.
So, once again, in genshin at 80 pulls 6* is guaranteed, but in Arknights it's 54% chance, which isn't low, but still lower than 100%.
Don't get me wrong, i love Arknights for it's gameplay and dropped genshin 1.5 years ago, but gacha system in genshin is better.
I play waifu>meta and just want my Kalt'sit and Reed alter, and last banner with Kalt'sit was with also Mountain, Skadi and someone else, 25% chance with no guaranteed chance to get her, for f2p 180 gold certificates is A LOT and if i do remember correctly - she wasn't even in certificates shop.
And let's say there will be another banner with Kalt'sit and some another random operator. What if in certificates shop will be this random and not her? My point is gacha in genshin is better - "want next 6*? Collect about 120 pulls or 160 just in case and he/she is yours, go get them tiger!" While in Arknights it's "well, theres shit tone of different type of banners, maybe we will put her on banner where there will be no other 6*, or maybe not, maybe we will put her in the banners with her only AND at the same time release another banner and in certificate shop will be operators from that other banners. You mad? Gonna cry? Not our problem".
While technically arknights does have "worse" rate for specific characters (as in doesn't have afailsafe on the 50% of the gacha). Arknights does have ways of guaranteeing characters that won't cost endless pulls. A.K.A the Gold certificate shop for 180 gold certs and the paid selector ticket (30 dollar or so?) for any non limited units.
Gold certificates on average generate at a rate of 1 pull = 1 gold certificate. and also partially can be farmed totally F2P in recruitment (and sometimes even get's given out as an reward for annihilation.)
The only problem that shop has is that newer units don't appear until 2024 in that shop. However this can be used to catch up to old units.
here comes the paid selector ticket...which has a much bigger choice of units including some "newer" ones.
Also for the few limited units they do have a hard pity of 300 pulls to get them.
Hell unlike genshin, arknights doesn't really need duplicates so with 1 copy of each character you get them at 99% of their power.

I wish there's better* way to get Orundums tbh, like even the level up prize is borderline nothing (just sanity bonus), i guess maybe I'm still fixed with how other gacha games are.
Dailys+ Weeklys + Anihilations give about 3000 orunduns in a week, so you can do roughly 20 pulls a month just from the free orunduns. I think its fine considering events + permits + certificates are a thing and you can get even more pulls just by playing, it makes the f2p experience pretty good.

I don't want to hear anyone complain about Arknights gacha, I've played FGO for roughly 3 years and they didn't even have a pity system until two years ago (in the JP version at least, EN/global should get it this year). And the pity isn't even good, you need 300 pulls for a 70% chance to get the rate up servant and there is no soft pity of any kind, you either go 300 summons or you pray for thar 1% chance.
Also roughly 2/3 to 2.5/3 of all their 5 star units (for the people that don't know it's the FGO equivalent to a 6 star) are limited, hell they even have event limited 3 star units, imagine 3 star Kroos being limited.
Add to that that the pity doesn't carry over and resets after every banner and you have one of, if not the worst gacha system ever. But there are still people who defend it .... god I'm happy that I stopped playing that game.

Those not respect your time is not only for sss. The problem in this game is you cannot skip, and is wasting your time. If your team composition is the same and your level is the same, and no change what soever in the team stats, you should allow to skip rather waiting the shit again

Is it safe to say that arknights as a game right now had a lot of changes, to the point that new players didn't understand the meaning of every QoL features they see in the game and overwhelmed by those features, so they just assume the QoL features are meaningless ?

i am a week1 player and i used to dislike it (i dont understand the gameplay, AT ALL :)) but after a few months, i got back, try to understand the game, started to like it alot, and play it until today :) i still watch guides, usually on the hardest stages (event bosses etc) i tried different operators from IS/support unit, which makes me know which random character i want to level up :) back then, my 6* are only ange & mostima, and i barely use them. now, after getting bunch of stronger 5*&6*, i never use ange again...

I guess some people want to jump to the end game right away and expect to win. For me, IS, SSS, and the TN were so easy. Of course, I have the most meta operators. Also, even new players can get the SSS rewards from events if they farm the currency of the events. I know learning the game takes time, but once you see a lot of guides, you will be able to do it. For me IS I got my own strategy to do it. Even the challenges they put took a time to do it, but it was possible.
Arknights isn’t perfect by any means but after so many years, im genuinely addicted lol the story is great, music is top tier, characters are unique, gameplay wise it’s fun since you make up your own strat, new game modes keep it interesting for me, etc. Honestly, my only issues is that I wish they would bring back the multiplayer event they had back when R6S collab happened. I have a friend irl who got me into arknights, so when that event came out we were constantly hanging out irl so we can form strategies in real time. It was really fun and helping other players was a blast too, other than that it’s just little nitpicks I have here and there. Another thing that I won’t forgive or forget though was when they got rid of Ai Kayano (va for Platinum) over some chinese politics. Not only did she do nothing wrong, the people over at the cn server bitched so much that yostar caved and fired Ai. Not only was she my personal favorite in the game but also as a va in general (Darkness from KonoSuba), so imo cn server should have it there way and en should have it our way. Since most of us didn’t care about her post that she had made, but regardless, I’ve invested too much time and money on the game and genuinely loved it too much to quit.
TLDR: I really don’t have any issues with Arknights as I love the game, imo I feel like there should be a multiplayer option (not PvP) as they’ve done it before and I want Ai Kayano back as the va for Platinum.
A real reason to hate the game would probably be that one incident where they fired Platinum's voice actor for visiting a controversial japanese shrine (of which she had no idea about at the time, mind you) and posting about it on social media. This was all because a very vocal minority of cn "fans" wanted to farm the sweet social credit score, and the devs pretty much had to bend the knee or else face the wrath of the ccp.. It's ridiculous. Kayano Ai's pretty much blacklisted by most cn game companies nowadays. I'd say good riddance on her part, but i'm assuming those roles helped pay the bills.
Can't really do much against insecure and fragile nationalist especially if CCP caught wind of it. HyperGryph didn't have much of a choice.

Personally have my grips with the game, here are some, while the rates for acquiring 6 characters is good, the fact that pity for guaranteed rate up standard op is non existent, there is no way to 100% guarantee you will get them and if you are extremally unlucky and loose EVERY 50/50, you can spend thousands and really never see the character, while obviously a very rare situation to have, the existence of this situations kind of just throws out the whole ''fairest gacha game'' argument out of the window, cause it's not. Limited ops are a whole other thing, while I appreciate the exitance of actual pity, 300 pulls for a game like this is STEEP. Unless you save a least a 6 to a year in advance, as f2p, there is no way you will reach pity unless you sell your soul and time to this game. QOL is also non existent, when compared to other games. Yes, compared to launch, game has gotten better in that regards but also it's one of the worst gacha games in terms of QOL. The non existence of auto tickets being a massive pain, if you beat it once, why should I have to redo it all over again, on auto, it's just going to do the same exact shit I just did to clear it and, surprise surprise, it cleared the stage, I know, shocker. I don't know why after 3 years, this has still not been added to the game, this makes grinding such a pain and I'm kind of just wasting my time away grinding at stages or resource stages to get a small bit of what I want, especially since some stages can take a minute or three to clear and when you need to clear them a lot, it's just gets annoying. Those are my grips with the game, game is good, but it's not the best gacha game out there, it's okay for what it is, but there is sooooooooooo much room for improvement
Arknights have a really steep learning curve so I don't really blame any of them if they didn't like on the get go

Seriously some of the comments are correct. SSS is random and difficulty is just enemy stats off the charts. It is manageable but then we have the anniversary event, SSS, trials for navigator at the same time. And many people don't really want to spend hours playing all of those modes which are ok by themselves but not when they are thrown at you at the same time altogether.
That doesn't justify 1 star review though because these are minor issues in the end and the game is still great it's just too much going at once right now.
Well with me and arknights i remember the obnoxious ad’s which turned me off from playing the game, my friend made me play it and now love it.

IMO, if the Arknight grinding is easy, soon that would be the dead game. Because the fun of Arknights is when we think hard to finish the stage, Wait so long to upgrade operator, Base etc. Then when we finally made it, it is statisfy. So, for new players go uninstall and delete account if you don't like it. Imagine you quit rage in tower defense game and give 1 star 💀. So weak.

There are many valid points in those 1* reviews but one should take the game in it's whole and have played long enought before giving a feedback. Even with all the flaws the game doesn't deserve a 1*. There are cons but pros too.
What disturbs me a bit is the copy trend around the game. Frosbyte should you pull has been copied, there is a wave of reactions videos of ppl who don't event play the game since some time, and now this after Eckogen made a similar video few days ago...
There's not that many angles you can look at for content for this game (content that people are actually looking for.) Yeah, Eckogen did this vid first this week, and if Spiefie was aware of that he should've said "check out his video after it inspired me to do this" but oh well. It's not like it's a big brain original idea that nobody else would've done.
Frostbyte's "should you pull" videos are just new operator reviews which - it doesnt matter who started doing those first - analysis of upcoming characters is a thing for every gacha game and its totally fine if 50 people do them
Tbf some of those complains are valid, ignoring the complains about difficulty I agree in some critics like the fact that Ak rates are not that great and that the game can still use some QOL features.
The rate for 6 stars is good, but the problem is that there is not a hard pity for them and in case of limited banners the spark is way to high.
Also I wish we could auto the base bcs that thing has been on beta since release and while we do get some nice rewards from it, going into it and rotating the op on the facilities feels like a chore.
Also, pls get rid of SSS I just dont like the mode. At least let us auto it bcs I really cant be bothered to play that thing every 2 weeks ty

They just spice-up normal stages with basically same mob you fight in story stages (except certain map & Vigilo last stage is banger)
The guys with dp issue might be a defenderknights, be kind to him, we have to deal with 30+ dp units quite often
If he plays defenderknights, he should've understand that DP issues comes naturally with the package, though. And even then, it's still possible to block early mobs with low rarity/lowest cost defender(s) then scale to the higher ones unless there's DP regen down condition.

Tbh even with the funny reviews its surprising AK for a gacha game has majority positive reviews. And the bad reviews (not respecting time, SSS, gacha rate) are issues I think fans have pointed out. Well SSS atleast. The other two I'll say are balanced but still better than your average cash grab.

It's one of my favourite games but fr, Arknights fanboys go so hard on defending their game.
The opinion can be considered valid, however the people writing these comments seems like they have barely touched the game, like for 2 seconds and after that took what they understood or experienced in that small window of playing and put it like it's the reality of the game despite everything. They can be wrong on many points and irrational while being, from a personal standpoint, totally respected in the way they are displayed and brought up when referencing a disagreement for something said by them.
SSS is so hard, but the challenge that it brings is fun in its own way for me

Honestly, when i got Myrtle i butbnever use her because I had Siege and Blacknight as main Vanguard, but in higher difficult stage i always fail, so i asking my friend who also play AK, i asked him about best vanguard and he said Myrtle, and he asked back about if i have her, i say yes but never use her, and my friend said build her, so i build her and yep finally i complete difficult stages using her till today. And sorry Myrtle.
