Staying Bummie in Topeka, Kansas. I love your enthusiasm during an active bite like you were on in this video. You brought a smile to my face! ❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Arriving on Dauphin Island in 11 days! I can't wait to try my luck and record some video. My 4th trip in 5 years and all because of you, Matthew! 😎 I learned from watching you okay?! 🎣
Fantastic day on the beach Matthew those are the kind of days that get your blood pumping unfortunately where I'm at I'll have to settle for walleye and striped bass
Can't wait to come down, our trip starts may 4th for a week! last year we came a little earlier and missed the opening of your shop. We can't wait to see the new shop, and load up on gear for the week!
which sunglasses are you using I'm going to buy some from the shop? Loved the video. You got me pumped for my trip down to PCB. As always love your videos. I've learned so much you, Grant, and Brad.
After watching Brant and others do catch and cooks with hardhead catfish, I fried one up. They actually taste good, and have a better texture than the sail cats. They basically eat the same things other fish eat, so why would anyone expect that they are trash fish? Sure, they steal your bait, and you don’t want to get stuck by their fins. I just fillet them like any other fish.
What rods were used in this video? Looking for something I can use down there on vacation but also on the Great Lakes catching steelhead/coho surf fishing as well.
Zebco 202 Spin caster Surf Caster reel with the LONG John Holmes edition 12ft Bummy Stick is what I use and I've caught 69 Keeper Pomp's this Spring,,,
Keep it simple , light line with 30lb mono or equivalent leader. The west beach pass is nice at night on the outgoing tides for big specks / flounder/ croaker/ drum. Small crappy jigs will catch big fish there.
I have been fishing for about two years in Florida and I have been fishing for almost all species but the pompano doesn't stick to my hook, it easily sticks to your hooks 😄🤷♂️🤦♂️
I can't understand why you don't use sputnik weights, you must like having your pyramids roll along the bottom with the wind and current .I used to beach fish on the FL East coast with them, 2 oz in 5 ft churning surf and they would rock down and stay in place till pulled. 2 oz.sputnik would be my universal ground tackle in your area. I fish the Pacific NW now and 2.oz, here is still all that I need. Try them for once and see. I'll be waiting to see if you'll try them. Cheers y Pura Vida
Great days fishing, loved the catches good bait always catch the best fish. Thanks for sharing.

Very proud to support your channel. Keep teaching me more on the ins and outs of beach fishing, I've still got a ways to go.

Love your videos....I did notice you were hurying back after casting and not shuffling your feet. please be careful
Great job Matt. I was the old man east of you catching the whiting.
Fished the eclipse as well 3 hours east of you. Water was dirty. 2 sharks was all we could do, but one was 57 FL!
That looked like a ton of fun.
Crushed it!!!
Great fishing! If they're biting so much....would you catch them on a pompano jig?
What surprises me, is how long those pompano are staying hooked before you can get to the rod.
I see you have both storm sinkers and triangle weights there. Any preference? 1:14
Still a banner day even if it slowed down. Great vid!
Nice job 👍

I've tried the hard heads and don't like them. I'd rather eat the sailcats
Heck I grew up eating hard head cats a sail cat is best fish to eat in gulf
Magic 8 ball says fish pomp tacos are for supper.
Have you ever thought of using a bait caster cannon instead of walking out into the surf to get over the sand bars?
I'm jealous lol great video
Boa pescaria amigo 👍
Any tips? I’ve tried everything and I never catch any.

Sorry mate bama don't read comments no more😢
I believe he bases his bummy stick on steelhead/salmon rod blanks he used to have Ninja Dagger blanks custom made for him.

Matt- great exciting video catching pompano. Does this mean the pompano run has started??
Matthew, did you fire Fred? Haven't seen him in awhile.
I have been fishing for about two years in Florida and I have been fishing for almost all species but the pompano doesn't stick to my hook, it easily sticks to your hooks 😄🤷♂️🤦♂️
I've never used Fish Gum. Does it get slimy and nasty like Fish Bites?
This is what I want to do in my retirement .
When you walk in water you raise your feet you better start sliding before your stung
