Merry Christmas to all my viewers who celebrate it! This is my biggest production to date, with a 2nd part coming on New Years Day. I hope you enjoy it!
Enjoyed this Joel. Brave now direction for you mate and it’s paying off. This is very watchable. You know the trio format works aka Top Gear, Grand Tour and Car Trek. Looking forward to 2nd part on New Year’s Day. Merry Christmas to you and your gorgeous Mrs. Not sure it’s a good look you three talking on the walkie-talkie whilst driving in UK. Just saying. 😊
The banter seemed all very natural and at times very amusing, which is rare in these type of videos these days!. Genuinely lol'd at quite a few moments, look forward to part two :D
Nice to see a video that doesn’t include a BMW. Please don’t hurt these poor cars though! It was grim reading when magazines bashed them in the 80s and 90s, grim watching Top Gear crashing them in the noughties and the same of UA-camrs in recent times.
I thought this was great! People in the comments really need to not take it so seriously. What's wrong with being inspired by a series that lets face it, inspired every car youtuber we watch. Obviously these lads wouldnt typically play bumper cars. If you've watched Joel for any length of time you know he looks after his cars, and even restores ones to glory destined for the scrap heap!
Excellent video Joe like everyone you post. However I just don’t like how you all continually bash and damage the cars it’s just not remotely necessary. There’s many people some of whom will watch your videos financially unable to own even these vehicles and if they were somehow able, they’d cherish them. Maybe it’s just me but I don’t see it as fun. On the flip side that’s an amazing Saab and they’re now becoming highly collectible. Please look after them and consider donating them to those in need rather than ruining them. 😊
Appreciate that, it’s wasn’t planned or supposed to be in poor taste, we perhaps were just having too much fun and getting carried away. I blame Ben, he started it!
If only your budget would have stretched a little more to an A207 E Class Cabriolet. Just driven mine with my kids from London to Manchester today (Xmas Day) with the roof down, E350d V6 has 265 bhp stock so limited to 155mph with a 0-60 of around 6 secs. Air cap and air scarf (as well as of course heated seats) means that you can be snug at motorway speeds even in sub zero temperatures without a coat or a hat - as this creates a bubble of warm air for the occupants. No rain will get in past the windscreen as long as you don't slow down from about 50 mph and the top opens and closes at up to 25mph so no need to stop. And I got 50mpg. You can get a crappy 12 reg for about £4k. I often go top down all year around.
like the old Mercedes, ive got the 171 version, roof stopped working a while back air scarf is perfect and heated seats work fine, and the air con, ill get roof fixed for summer, but that Saab is also a great choice
Merry Christmas Joel! Hope you and Katie have had a wonderful Christmas! This Christmas special is wonderful 👌 and for the record MX5's are awesome! I've had 3 myself. Sooo much fun! You could of picked something gay and hilarious like a 206 convertible 😂
Good video. I disagree about when to purchase s convertible though. I think the absolute best time to buy one is in the dead of winter if you have the cash and space for it.
I have owned all three of the cars, no 1 out is the slk, mx5 is brill and l own a nd now, as far as the saab it also is brill, a very comfortable cruiser, so between the mx5 and the saab as convertibles it difficult, there different but excellent in there both ways, every day driving it's the saab, but for the odd blast the mx5. They are both really great cars.
These comments 😂 Enjoyed this. Mates having fun with cheap cars, who cares if they bump one another or are inspired by Top Gear? It’d be pretty boring if they all just drove from A to B!
@@itsjoelit's fun but come on at least come up with something a bit different/original mate not only structurally but even the banter is taken from the classic top gear challenges, bumping cars, producer messages on the phone etc. at least think about adding your own spin on it surely with new ideas?
@@HorwichWandererI think we did add our own spin, but also now that GT and TG are over, wanted to pay homage to the shows we grew up watching. We all had a lot of fun and that’s all I really wanted going into this. If people enjoy watching it, that’s a bonus!
More of these Joel! Shame about the Saab, the Mazda isn’t much better but hey, perhaps I’m being preemptive posting this 🤪 love the content and very much enjoy challenges like these. Merry Christmas and wish you all the best for 2025! I’m hoping I can buy my very first Porsche. Challenge accepted.
Good video in regards to the fuel economy however no need to bash and smash decent cars that have been looked after by previous owners. It’s abit disrespectful tho those who looked after them before you purchased them. There are people out there going in to the new year unable to afford a car.

Mary Christmas loved the video. Keep them coming thank you.
With top gear gone we're left with temu gear. Thanks BBC
Nice one, funny how these channels all just copy top gear.
Not withstanding Mr Harris, I’d take this any day over the post C, H & M era.
"In a Saab like this, I'm too busy with girls" 🤣🤣🤣 Edgy humor 😂
Merry Christmas to all my viewers who celebrate it! This is my biggest production to date, with a 2nd part coming on New Years Day. I hope you enjoy it!
Great work Joel. Appreciate it. Good content.

Thank you, we barely scripted anything and Bayley came along not knowing either Ben or myself, so massive credit to him!
Copy nothing. Erm no let’s copy Top Gear because it’s brilliant. Well done boys, looking forward to part two.

Very much enjoyed being part of this! Looking forward to Part 2 next week 🙌🏻
I love your videos usually but your content is so much better with the other two with you.
Loved this, excited for part two 🤣
Another cracking video ❤
Glad you enjoyed it

I love this, you guys should make this a yearly series. Maybe a cool name though? Can't be Grand Tour or Car Trek 😅
Heated seats are a must in a drop top
I was really missing those!
I have them in mine and use to use it in winter with them on and was amazing. Now it’s a summer toy

Merry Christmas Joel. 🎄
Merry Christmas!
Every time you guys bump paintwork an angel cries. I just want you to understand that. 😂
Absolutely loved this one, excited for part 2 on NYD! Merry Christmas, I hope you have a happy new year! 🥳
Thanks so much buddy!
Looks like you guys had a ton of fun! Love it!
Pop corn time!!!
Oh yes
Merry Christmas Joel! Great start to the series, Ben seems like a laugh
13:38, payback is sweet! 😂 (in a petrol station though 😅😂)

I love both of the cars, in fact I’ve kept both the Mercedes and Saab for now, I’ll do videos with them

Great video, brilliant natural chemistry. I hope to see more like this!
Merry Christmas Joel to you and the Mrs! All the best for 2025
It must be odd for Ben to switch from his V-12 R8 to that damn Mazda.
A real treat. Well done putting this all together
Love that Saab. Thats what i would go for
I actually really like it too. Might keep it for a while. I’ll do a detailed video on it
@itsjoel where did you and your friends buy your cars from?
@@carlstansfield9696 from private sellers
Great video! 😂😂😂
Thank you!! 😁
Looking good soo far
It’s actually smart to buy a convertible in the winter
Love the switch up beach x
22:50 ohhh, that killed me 😂😂😂😂

Low rent Car Trek but definitely seasonal fun 😊

Anyone spot the Landy that looked lowered in car park at end?
It had a buckled wheel 😂
@ 😂 Has given me an idea tho, lowered Landy lol
thats where you are wrong its not a lowered Landrover Discovery its like that from factory as it has adjustable height button inside
The MX5 should have VVT.
Merry Christmas Joel, but damaging each other’s cars just isn’t cool anymore. You all bought great cars, cherish them.
Just a bit of fun!

Love a saab
Am I the only one who despises the mx5 ?
I despise it when Ben’s head is sticking out the top
I don’t know the other two, but will be open minded.

This is great content and I love the topgearesque throwback to the earlier series, well done all 🫡
