The flight pattern out of Reagan was a surprise, so was the massive amount of tourist hanging at the Lincoln Memorial. Thank you. I am a huge fan of your stuff. I not only find it interesting, but therapeutic, seriously.
My bag alone adds up to more than that LOL! The National Mall (which is massive), and many bustling areas of DC are very safe. Wonder a block or two away in nearly any direction and curtains, it's all over.
I drove to a nearby running/biking trailhead, then I walked in about a mile or so to where the trail (footbridge) goes over the Hwy. It's a really sweet spot. I'm constantly looking for spots like that one. They are everywhere, but many are not safe after dark.
You have made this a art my friend. I bought, a newer camera not a big boy dslr but have similar controls. I didn't realize you can slow shutter speed while running time laps so cool
Probably the best looking footage you've ever posted -- ever. Truly professional grade. You should try to list some of it on Getty to sell as broadcast/film stock footage.
How perfect is it that the bus with the word "SEEING" in the ad appeared where it did in your frame during this timelapse? Extraordinary. I make music videos of the horrible drivers in the DC area, and you've just made a music video out of the everyday (night) patterns of DC residents. Endlessly entertaining. Great song choice (I generally love the music you choose for all of your vids). I bet you didn't expect that sort of flight pattern in the first clip to repeat so often. :)
It is with great pain that I must report to you that Big Springs Shelter has been scheduled for demolition. Yes, it's true. From what I'd heard the shelter was in poor shape (something I can attest to) and had run it's course. The good news is that a fresh shelter will be put in place a little north down the trail.

Yes, but I sold off my other Canon (7D) a year ago and got a 5DMK3. I live and work in (near) this city (for now) so I figured why not. I was suppose to be in SNP this weekend but things didn't work out. Big Meadows even!
Was that the Canon SX40 HS you are using now? That is a great camera. It's pretty light isn't it? It is a beast of a camera. If I was to thru hike again that's the camera I would probably pack. How about that zoom, pretty fantastic.
