I often feel like Tweek's banana play hinders him more than it helps him. In this set, in many moments he gave up a ledge trap and even trapped himself in the corner or shield against Ryu because he was on the banana peel delay. Even he jumps and puts himself at a disadvantage or lose stage control to get a banana. Look at this at 10:44, he gives control of the stage to Asimo desperately looking for the banana and loses a stock in the ledge trap with less than 100% because of it. Not to mention that he gives up the banana on the ground to get in the way of Ryu ground aproach, as well as being unable to do a grab other than the monkey flip, which can be way more risky in this mu. And there are other situations in which he would rather go for the banana than force an edge guard on Ryu who is vulnerable offstage. If I were Tweek's coach, I would force him to play for 2 months without using a banana. I often feel like he becomes so dependent on the banana that he forgets Diddy doesn't need it to have one of the best neutrals in the game.
I feel like to some degree you right but you are missing match up knowledge. Ryu and Ken both have very safe normals on shield. A lot of the cast have a hard time punishing them out if shield but Diddy doesn’t specifically because of banana. You should also recognize how many times he got punishes out of shield with banana. I feel like most ryu’s would have folded to not being able to put any pressure on tweek shield but Asimo simply adapted and didn’t rely on shield pressure as much as Tweek relied on the banana 🤷🏾♂️
I forget where, but one of his most recent sets against acola he spent the first like 2 minutes just spamming wavebounce pop gun cancels and refusing to approach. That was the game that made me realize how good Tweek's movement tech is.

Asimo is definitely top 10 this season
That goes without saying
16:49 the very Street Fighter tatsu read on the predictable projectile, love it. Asimo's SF6 training paid off
Asimo’s ryu is god tier 🔥🔥🔥
that banana at 19:30 was so sneaky wtf

How the hell did Asimo Ryu last that long against Tweek Diddy - it's insane (no spoilers on winner)
Asimo definitely makes Ryu look like the best FGC.
and I believe it

I dont get how asimo is winning such unwinnable matchups against top players, before that he just 3 0d shadic
Skills man.
the discipline of a road warrior
Had to see Tweek lose but love to see Asimo win. He deserves it
23:17 the Footstool?!
First time Tweek's ever lost to a shoto?
He’s lost to riddles’ Kaz and scary terry before in the past. But it’s been a while.
supernova ?アシモが勝ってる
@@envi5525 Tweek beat Asimo at Supernova.
If we talk specifically about ryu and ken i think it was indeed his first time losing to a shoto
@@Kapito22 yh
its crazy to me how tweek is steamrolling him for a minute straight and then asimo lands one hit to deal 80%... every stock is two neutral wins only
Be grateful he ain’t using Kazuya
balanced
It’s significantly harder for Ryu to hit diddy than it is the other way around. Balances out
being evasive and chipping away VS enduring through it all to land something explosive
