Asking the crying lady at the grave tomb if she was okay was probably the biggest mistake I made playing this game as a non English speaking 7 year old. That creepy voice and the woman turning around revealing herself which made rosella go into shock screaming in terror traumatised me as a child. :')
Oh those childhood memories coming back to me watching this. Lots of frustrating moments when you didn't know where to go and what to do. Back then there was no walkthroughs or guides to rely on so you pretty much had to figure things out by your own. Many times you got very lucky by randomly clicking things you never thought would actually lead to anything. I'm still occasionally humming to the music in this. Guess it's just too memorable to forget after all these years.
I loved the game because it was like playing a cartoon. That's what it felt like as a kid. The only other game similar that came out was Dragons Lair but that was mostly pretty animated scenes with frustrating reaction based events. Something would flicker and you had to press a button or time things just right. It was more of a movie than a game.
31:15 I know they're trying to be all like "Trolls are backwards and like disgusting stuff and hate nice smelling stuff" but I can't get the idea of the stinky flower from KQ6 out of my head.
It's really clever what they tried to do with the animation on this game. Unfortunately I think the technology of the time simply wasn't up to it. Also, Rosella be struttin' like she's walking the catwalk.
I think it's the fifth time watching this. lol. It's just so relaxing and I love the graphics! I'm a 24 year old Swedish guy and I played this game when I was a kid :) So nostalgic...How come everyone dislike this game? Actually... Since you mention it... Let’s do some math. If Alexander was 17 in ‘86 and Rosella was his twin, that means she would have been 17 in ‘86 too. This figures out to both Alexander and Rosella being 50 in 2019.
This game gets way too much hate. Honestly, I like the graphics and overall style much better than the other games. The story is amazing, the scenery is beautiful, the music is catchy, the characters are interesting... I can forgive the few plot holes because this is one of my favorite games of all time!
***** I was actually referring to other King's Quest games. I was thinking more of the people even more nostalgic than me, who prefer the pixellated graphics of the earlier KQ games with its old interface and separate cursors for different actions. But that said, I agree with you about the state of modern adventure video games and I do love the bright colors and characters of KQ7!
***** I never knew there were remakes of those! I have played the Silver Lining though, and I only looked at KQ8 but I agree it seems really weird. Thanks for the tip, I'll have to look up those other ones! :)
I can't fathom how you feel that way, but I respect your choice. Personally, 6 is the pinnacle, and 7 a giant disappointment, but that's just my opinion.

I loved watching as my mum played this game when I was a child, it's so eerie and full of details. For those wondering, it's no longer sold so you can download it for free on abandonware websites.
That's awesome! Thanks for sharing. Spent plenty of time as a kid playing this game. Funny how I remember the sounds, music and scenes as it plays like it was yesterday!
This playthrough was my first look at this game. Don't see what some of the commenters are complaining about. The only think that might have irked me was the imposed linearity, which is something KQ6 didn't have. The puzzles seemed to be sufficiently difficult, as well as the item combinations.
In 1994 I was 6 years old and this game came with our first home pc. I remember my oldest brother 13 years old saying smack the prickly fruit with the stick! And it worked we we’re all so excited… love everything about king’s Quest 7 till this day. And made me play the previous games as well.
After watching some kings quest let’s plays in the past couple weeks it has reawakened my love for these old games. I think I’m going to buy a computer that I can play them on.
Thanks for posting this Yzzyxz! I remember playing this game when I was a kid, and even though I cannot compare it to other King Quest games, I do recall that the same company that created this game also did "Torin's Passage", and I absolutely loved that game. What can I say? Those were different times with different standards, and because of that we are able to appreciate the memories and the uniqueness in which these were made and created. So, thanks again for spending time to post these videos!

There’s another option towards the end of the game, when you use the device to shrink Malicia(?), there’s an option to do the same to her dog so it turns into a puppy so they both start young again.
oh yes finally found it.. i played this game when i was little.. but sadly lost it always rember the princes and troll part but couldnt find the game back because i forgot the title. so thank you for putting in one youtube

I remember playing this game as a kid and was so utterly lost. I couldn't figure out how to do anything and move forward in the game lol. The days before walkthroughs being available online and what not. It didn't help that I skipped chapters and got even more lost XD
I played this game with my sister on an old(brand new then) Compaq desktop with Windows 95. I loved it, but some parts scared the hell out of a 5 year old me. I've been trying to find out the name of this game for the last 15 years when this video came up on my recommendations.
I bought the game like 8-10 years ago and printed off a walkthrough jus incase I couldn't figure out what to do. I got to the part with the dragon and it's scales and I followed the walkthrough's instruction. Alas, I couldn't get further in the game. I hope your Playthrough let's me continue and finally finish the game.
I cannot like this enough. I literally have the disc set which I cannot play since I do not have a compatable system but Ive been missing this game for more than a decade. Thamk you!!
Download DosBox and you can play it on a current system. I have the King's Quest collection CD's and after installing them I can play them through that DosBox program.

I hope I can buy this before the month of October, this year (2022). I want to play it during the month of Halloween. I really want to see the death mistakes in the game.
I've got the King's Quest Collection but this doesn't work with that because you need DOS or something like that. HOWEVER, I DID find a copy downloadable for free online that comes with this DOS Box thing that basically simulates DOS so that the game can play for you.
Nice game and is not bad, but if we compare it with the previous KQ6 I think it would be a step backwards for Sierra KQ6 was very interesting it has wonderful story and it is serious .. I think KQ7 took the turn so that the game has become very comic and comedy and this thing I did not like it Thank you to uploading the fullplay video

Dragon's Lair was Quick Time Event: The Game.
It was honestly ahead of its time considering how QTEs have become so prevalent in action games today.
It was good then - now it's pure magic.
For the time this game was an achievement! It still blows my mind how well done it was.
The animation, the music, the voice-overs, everything was so ambitious and yes, well done.

5. all garbages
