I wish I could just purchase the return of the sinister six expansion and the playmat without having to pledge for at least the core box as I'm not that interested in the characters in the multiverse pledge.
Check out 401 games online. Pretty sure they have lots of individual items for same. If not yet they will soon. Or try to connect with someone who pledged and see if you can order with them. The good news is that if you buy a core set, the promo box will have resale value.
