Bit late now, but that equipment should be on the outside of the greenhouse, in a little insulated shed. It’s going to be fine for the winter, but it will be far too hot during the warmer seasons.

A little insulated building without some sort of climate control will most likely get even hotter. The insulation holds heat in. I think we will be fine.

Interesting. Something I will be considering. I bought an all-in-one Chinese solar fan for our greenhouse and it is one full step above nothing. I'll be trying something else very soon.

Merry Christmas Mr. T.. I saw that! Speaking of Eco Worthy.. they sent me version 2 of their controller for the tracker.

At about 10:10 you connect the charge controller and battery to the inverter.
You put the controller wire on the inverter lug and then the battery wire then the nut.
Ideally the higher current wire from the battery should be on the lug first.
If the inverter is on 24-7 you may to find it's no load power draw is burning up most of your energy. Would be best if the vent fan was 24 volts DC so the inverter could be turned off when you are not in the greenhouse. But that type of thing really becomes a problem in the winter so it may not affect you.
    Good video.

Good point. I will correct this today. We are using a temp control switch to turn the 120v fan on and off. During the winter, we will keep the fan off.

Tony, don't worry about it being inside the greenhouse! My baby Brother has 60x 100 hydroponic greenhouse with tank all inside. He currently has 4000 watts of solar charging about 700ah battery bank that runs the pumps, aireators , fans an upright freezer àll of this inside. Because if temperature got high enough to be bad on the system , it would also be too hot for plants and fish. His system is now going on 8 years of around the clock operation . Actually inside of the greenhouse is one way of not having to worry about the low temperature that you mentioned because even in the clodest weather the temperature should be well above the freezing mark!

One thing I would suggest people is the dead load (heater element for the wind turbine) should be out of the way far from your system and high up, because one your could burn yourself on it, and two heaven forbid if some put cloathing on it and it activate whilst you were not there! Well there is not stopping that fire with a fan above adding to the problem. Otherwise looks like a nice system.

The solar power is a good and cheap way to provide power but you really need to run grid power also.
Set up a relay or transfer switch to connect to the grid when your batteries get below 11.7V.
You may find that 1KW is about 1/6 the power that you will need and the batteries do not last long.

Might have ben a good idea to go with a 12 pr 24 vdc motor as no power loss inverting power

The easiest way to set a ground rod is with a bucket of water.
Start your rod into the ground by hand to about 6 inches, remove rod and fill hole with water.
Put your rod back into the hole, push down hard and pull out.
It is like you are throwing the rod into the ground.
    Repeat several times.
The hydraulic action digs the hole.
Keep doing this until the rod is fully into the ground.
Doing it this way prevents damage to the rod.
Check local codes for if the top of the rod needs to be up to 6 inches below the surface.
This prevents damage to the rod and connection.
You should use grey plastic conduit from the box connection to the ground rod connection.
Buring the conduit prevents damage from lawn mowers, lawn tractors, and tire punctures.
Place the ground rod up to 3ft from the building to avoid the foundation's footing.

If the instructions specifically say not to put a fuse between the inverter and battery, why do you think it is best to do so?

That is because you are making judgments without understanding the long-term plan. Water pumps, fans, lights, outside plugins for other uses. There's a lot more going on than meets the eye.

Never use a 12p nail gun on 2x4s.
    12p nails do not hold.
    You will see for yourself.
