It's a typical Saturday at Toy Federation and our crew is all over the place helping clients and stocking the cases! Oh, and someone bought the G1 Megatron from Transformers! Did it have a gun with it or are we mistaken?
In 1978, Kenner launched its first line of Star Wars figures, known as the "Star Wars Early Bird Certificate Package." This innovative package included a display stand and a mail-in certificate, allowing fans to receive their first figures by mail before they hit the shelves. The first wave of figures featured iconic characters such as Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo, Chewbacca, Darth Vader, and more.
Kenner Star Wars figures stood approximately 3.75 inches tall, a size that became the standard for action figures across the industry. These figures were crafted with meticulous attention to detail, considering the limitations of production technology at the time. Despite their small size, they captured the essence of the characters, each with their unique sculpting and recognizable features.
As the Star Wars franchise continued to grow, Kenner released numerous waves of figures, expanding the line to include characters from each subsequent movie. From "The Empire Strikes Back" and "Return of the Jedi" to the animated "Ewoks" and "Droids" series, Kenner Star Wars figures showcased a vast array of characters, vehicles, and playsets that allowed fans to recreate their favorite scenes and adventures.
Hasbro's G.I. Joe action figures from the early 1980s are hailed as an iconic line that revolutionized the world of action figures. Known for their exceptional articulation, intricate details, and rich storytelling, these figures captivated the imaginations of children and collectors alike. Let's dive into the history and features of these legendary G.I. Joe figures:
The 1980s Hasbro G.I. Joe line stands as an iconic and groundbreaking series that revolutionized the action figure industry. Launched in 1982 as G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero, these 3.75-inch figures became a cultural phenomenon, captivating the hearts of millions of children and collectors worldwide.
The G.I. Joe line featured a diverse cast of characters, representing different branches of the military and specialized units. From the fearless leader Duke to the enigmatic ninja Snake Eyes and the scheming Cobra Commander, each figure possessed a unique personality, backstory, and skill set, fostering imaginative storytelling and role-playing adventures.
One of the key strengths of the G.I. Joe line was its exceptional articulation. With multiple points of articulation, these figures were incredibly poseable, allowing for dynamic action poses and interactive play scenarios. Whether recreating intense battles or covert missions, the articulation added an element of realism and excitement to the play experience.
The attention to detail in these figures was unparalleled. Each character featured intricate sculpting, capturing their distinctive facial features, uniforms, and equipment with precision. The accessories included an impressive array of weaponry, backpacks, helmets, and tools, enhancing customization options and fueling creativity.
The G.I. Joe line expanded beyond the figures themselves, offering an extensive range of playsets, vehicles, and accessories. From the iconic G.I. Joe headquarters, the USS Flagg aircraft carrier, to tanks, helicopters, and motorcycles, these additions provided a rich and immersive play environment, allowing fans to create elaborate battle scenes and military operations.

Does G1 Megatron come with a gun?
A gun using a gun. They should’ve just had smaller and smaller guns that transformed and held each other like a Russian doll🤣
Best channel on the internet
The US release comes with a chrome gun
@@thewalruswasjason101 Matryoshkatron
G1 Megatron came with some weird looking flat gun that he never used in the cartoon. The reissue came with the big flat chrome sword as well. I think they just sort of slipped onto his fists.
This show is a addictive. I want more.....unlimited episodes

17:02 In the wise words of Dr. Henry Walton Jones Jr. “It belongs in a museum!” 😂😂😂
Maybe so.
Wow, a 4 month wait for those early bird figures. That must have been a painful wait for kids back then.
Very much so!
I love how tens of thousands of dollars worth of toys are just sorted through on the floor
I sold about 20 G1 Transformers and 30 GI Joe Figures with 10 vehicles for $80 AUD at a market back in 1995. I needed the cash for a custom surfboard. Worst mistake I ever made.
Almost as bad as selling 3 drawers of original Space Lego, complete with with boxes and instructions for 50 bucks. The lady I sold them to had refilled every box with the correct parts and instructions and was selling them for 20 to 80 dollars each in her second hand shop. All 40 of them.
I had that Megatron with all the parts, but dont remember there being a gun or a sword. Plus Soundwave had all his tapes. Optimus still had all the accessories in the trailer. 3 mail order only Autobots. God Im an idiot.
Great example of why you buy it when you see it
Hunting a Megatron myself. Never had one as a kid
Awesome show, been watching for a month now and I'm hooked. I Love the TMNT Toys and Old G.I Joes, And The owner working on those hard deals. You can tell he really wants to give the people a good deal but also be fair to himself. Good shop owner and staff.
Thank you so much!
Digging thru old toys and putting them together is a dream job
I believe that squid head is a lil ledy figure from Mexico, very rare. Definitely a nice piece!
Great show! I can not get enough of your collection! Anybody show up with stuff from M.A.S.K. and those cool vehicles yet?
We have a ton of MASK!
@@toyfederation LOL "a ton"? Yes I know now that you probably do.😆👍
@@toyfederation But do you have... SECTAURS??? Hmmmm?🤔
Stay tuned
I had no idea you guys had beater Kenner Star Wars in the shop. I’m into restorations and will be hitting that up soon!
We do but we only put out complete versions in the best condition we have
Gun Megatron is cool. Don't mind him being a tank though. Thought it was weird he shank when he transformed. Lol.
Some Japanese G1 came
With the sword . The American one did come with a chrome blaster piece that attaches to his arm: that might be what he was thinking was a sword
I’m fortunate to have the g1 Megatron in the box encased in acrylic and a loose one as well . Has to be one of the coolest toys ever . Plus I found an 82 zap at a toy show for 5$ complete.
Oh wow! Nice!
I bet that Megatron is super clean…if it was in your case, haha…great pickup dude!!
I recently got a minty Skywarp, it’s amazing really, he has no serial number on his leg so I think it might be a first run G1 molding. Any idea?
Yea!
My new version of Saturday morning cartoons!! ❤❤❤
Love hearing that
I haven't thought about the Sucrets tins in a very long time! As a kid, those tins were something I took for granted. Good memories. :)
It's always a bonus episode when Devin makes an appearance.
The MMPR/PR lot was a good parts bin, Titanus always is without his battery cover, thats a rare *ss find if you get it
Yea!
Just found the channel a few days ago, I’m addicted. Love the concept. The knowledge you guys have about these toys is fantastic, “this version had this shade brown rifle, but here let me show you this other version I have in the back so you can see the difference” aggh I love it. 🤘🤘
The japanese Micro man Walther P38 U.N.C.L.E. came with a chromed sword.
This should be a cable TV series honestly I love the content more please!😊
Every Saturday at 9!
I’m 48 and my g1 megatron only came with the gun and shoulder stalk and silencer I got from sears
Was a great morning watch with my Coffee and herb!
Awesome
"It was my cousin's."
Usually translates to....
"I got it from a storage locker with at least another hundred or more figures"😉
Love watching these videos. Would love to see what star trek stuff you have.
Not much but we do have some
Didn’t know that he was part of Toy Federation, but I’ve gotten good deals from this guy every time I go to JoeLanta
That FRESH PRINCE HUMAN "T-SHIRT" WAS ABOVE N BEYOND
I'm surprised Hascrap has done as well as it has with the modern lightning collection. It was surpasses my expectations for the line 😛
Haha
The sucrets case to store weapons really brought back memories.
That's why when I got to Estate sales I open every single sucrets tin.
close to 20 years ago I sold my Star Wars collection on Ebay. It included moc figures (about 20 or so) comics (Marvel 1-10 plus Dark Horse and even one signed my Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher), some vehicles and loose figures and some 12" figures. I got about $1000 for it but I paid for shipping which was over $100. I highly regret it.
Brilliant seeing action figures played with as a kid again is awesome 👌 guys you are legend
Im not even big on toys anymore, but I love this store and I really appreciate this channel 🙏
Thank you!
Thank uuuuuuuuu for the dope video/ amazing past u rewind us back to....keep up the amazing work to just post as much possible....we allllllll as supporters live it allllll💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾💪🏾
As a child of the late 70s and early 80s, the Star Wars action figures were something I saw every kid at school playing with, but I never owned myself. I asked for them at Christmas more than once, but Santa never brought any. Had I owned them and played with them, I’m sure I would be a diehard collector today. Instead, I am a record collector because I had my Mom’s records to play with while growing up.
For the worn action figures that aren’t put out on the store display, what is the eventual plan for them? It might be neat to put together budget sets of played-with figures for those who don’t have deep pockets. In some ways, the worn figures are cooler because they were loved and played with. How many collectors today wish they still had the worn figures they played with as a kid?
that megatron! I've been searching locally at estate sales, yard sale, marketplace ads for 15 years and NOTHING
I wish I could visit this store, they loads of stuff I would purchase, nothing like this store in the UK….these videos are immense, keep these videos coming👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Fly over!
@@toyfederation wish I could, I would end spending hours in your shop buying vintage SW figs… love these video’s , you guys really know your stuff
UK viewer here - man would love a store like this in London. So jealous Americans have this awesome store
@@jaymiah8595 We have dozzens of stores like this in the U.S.
I couldn't see anyone the mentioned it but the guy that was talking about Megatron with a sword it was a Japanese exclusive pack as far as I'm aware the first time he came with the sword was in the convoy vs Megatron double pack snd the sinhle Japanese release both VFX versions from 1985 .
I had to go and look as my megatron as a kid had a metallic silver sword and a lot of my friend did ...maybe we just got some Japanese stock here in the UK around 17:31
Awesome video. You gotta dig them Joe's and Transformers .
Yes!
So entertaining, Thanks for the videos ! Toys Rock!
Yea!
Saturday morning Toy Federation FTW 🤘👍
Yea!
Still got my G1 Megatron and Optimus in the box. Will never part with them, too many fond memories.
There was an anime store in a mall by me that had the G1 Megatron mint in box for $200 like 20 years ago. I never bought it. I kept buying Gundams instead, and saying next time. When I finally was going to get it, place was gone. Poof…like it was just a dream.
4 years ago I had the chance to buy G1 Meg along with my Jetfire at a good price but I was like nah thanks but no thanks. I still don't want him but I sure would of liked the profit from him now.
Ha we get it
I love this channel! More videos please!

Awesome!
This is a great store, and show!
Thank you so much!
Megatons original release indeed came with a Sword. Hasbro dropped it after their partnership with Takara.
What a great job just handling toys all day long.
This is my relaxation after work show now while I go check out collectibles on weekends.
Awesome episode
Thanks!
Any chance you could do a show just talking about yourself, the shop, your personal collection, why your in this field, is this your full time only job, how do you make things work within the stores constantly changing inventory. Your truly phenomenal!
They have a podcast now
This is a great channel! Love how it is filmed. TV quality
If I lived near this place I’d be going there today.
Come anyway! Haha
Just as I was about to sleep 😂 you guys have such an amazing collection. Any holy grail pieces you're looking for?
Always
I'm in San Diego and really want to take a trip to your store
Please do!
Entertaining and informative as always!
Thank you! We try!
Not a museum but oh man, you guys could be! Great selection and a fun discussion!
Haha
“It’s not a museum. “ line of the show folks! How much is princesses Bosk?
Priceless
So what was rare about that Megatron, just that he was a gun? Was it pre-rub sign?
Nothing rare. Just don’t get a lot and that one sat for a while without being bought
The prices off the likes off .99 was originally to stop store staff just pocketing the money as they were forced to open the till and give change etc
No jokes love seeing your store busy like that definitely well deserved. Also, how to get a UA-cam spot for a tradein?? I might make a trip one day because i have some goodies to sell.
Just let us know when you’re coming !
The most important parts of every video is the INFORMATION ABOUT JUST ON ANYTHING/CALMNESS WITH U EXPLAINING ON EVERYTHING IS IMPORTANT.....THIS IS Y WE/I BELIEVE IN THIS AMAZING CHANNEL......IF U SEE WHAT I HAVE SINCE LITTLE WILL BLOW YA MIND TOO

How come don’t use toy federation bags they would be a good souvenir too
All hail Megatron....it's not a museum!
No it is not!
Devin the man!
I was watching a show called "A Toy Store Near You" on Amazon Prime Season 1, Episode 1 I think and apparently there is a G1 Megatron that comes with a sword.
I’ll have to look that show up
the takara version of megatron has a sword same with the microchage pre transformers one
Keep the videos coming, you guys r the bomb, someday I'm going to come visit u all, and bring in some vintage toys I got from my childhood 80s . Nice video , thanks again
Please come visit!
Personally I love y’all’s content keep up the great witk
All sales are in store only? You have any online selling thingys? The amount of stock you guys have is just insane
40+ min videos would be nice
Hurts the algorism if people FFWD or stop watching
Do you not enjoy these?
I wish hasbro would do a jeep version of hound like in the g1 action figures but use the jeep version of bumblebee from the bumblebee movie action figure line from hasbro studios I think all hasbro needs to do to make a jeep version of hound would be to take the same design as the yellow jeep from bumblebee and then make an army green Version of it and do some modifications to make it have hounds weapons on the vehicle mode and apply printed on decals that match the g1 hound decals and then do a head swap and then there you go you have a modern version of the g1 hound.
Takara G1 release came with a sword
Correct!
The early bird set from Star Wars was exciting to see as a kid ( seen it in your last episode too). I actually have the remakes from the 2000s on my window 🪟 shelf. Love the show. ✌️👍👍👍
Awesome! I love it!
the buyer is 100 % incorrect. Megatron never came with a sword, he had a goofy chrome rifle. The original toy hastro used as the prototype for megatron was called p-38 uncle microchanger came with a sword. The japanese takara re-issue of magatron also had a sword and his firing pin reinstalled in it and it came with plastic bullets. I know cuz I own both versions.
I recommend longer videos. Entertaining though.
20 is a perfect sweet spot for youtube. Stats say most people only watch X amount of videos/mins a day in between life happening
They are 4-5 times longer
What is the difference with the 1982 cobra commander and 1983? The guy never explained it?
Straight arm and swivel arm
A few things . 82 had straight arms and the legendary Mickey Mouse Cobra logo and the normal cobra logo . 83 had swivel arms and the normal cobra logo .
Yes that
Someone should do a psychological study about people that own and work in the collectible market.
It’s just such a different place than the world most of us live in.
I’m a big time record collector but I’m a lawyer.
I don’t have the nerve or guts to step this far into anything.
Fascinating
The other thing I wonder is why these are ALL dudes..and wonder how many of them have wife’s or families. Probably less than half? Mostly single dudes?
The obsession seems stronger than record collectors….of which I’m one…never knew this world existed
Why throw shade?
Let people live their lives, go read the books you're told to lawyer boy and stay in your lane
@@awrogers3013are you married? Do you have kids?. Your post infers that toy collectors and sellers are losers.
I guarantee you most of the people you see working at Federation have families. They are successful intelligent people who do what they love. I wish I was 10 years older and retired. I'd work for free for them just to hang out, organize and be part of that group.
It looked like a spaceship
What?
The hits keep on coming! ❤ newark nj in the house

Actually the 1986 reissue of Megatron came with his gun and a chrome sword.
400 hundred for all that vintage SW stuff, what a deal! Knner Force Green lightsaber a must have for any vintage star wars fan. And yes the original takara megatron pre rub came with a chrome gun accessory.
Yep. Takara version

How can I get stuff from you all to Alaska
Come to the store.
@@toyfederation I'm in Alaska not an easy drive there lol
@@woodrowhull5811 Better get started now!
Get out of here with your sword. Come on. People shouldn't argue and learn from shop owners like this instead of thinking they are the expert. We get this a lot when people think their items are in perfect condition and we point out flaws and they can't accept that their items aren't perfect and will continue to argue about it.
It’s tough
The Megatron didn't come with a sword.

The show is cool but contacting these guys via Facebook to inquire on toys is where the cool stops. It’s like they are doing you a favor unless you are looking to drop big money. Remember guys there are a lot of options to buy these days. Customer service is what sets you apart from the rest.
Can you explain this
@@toyfederation Sure. It’s feedback I am sure the experience in person is a lot better. If you are calling yourself a brick and mortar store than I apologize for this comment.
I have reached out looking for figures in stock and I have been met with “yes we do” and being an in box collector I always ask can I see the condition of the box and I never get a respond back. This is not a one time occurrence by the way.

I don't think G1 Megatron came with a sword 🤔 i don't remember it's been so long since I've had a G1 Megatron in my collection. All of my G1 Transformers and vintage Star Wars figure and playsets along with my ships too were stolen and sold.
WOW that sucks, must had been an inside job is that is all they stole.
The best channel on UA-cam
Oh wow!
Damn right it's a 100. I never understood the xx.99 price, it never seemed much of a deal to me either.
The prices off the likes off .99 was originally to stop store staff just pocketing the money as they were forced to open the till and give change etc
Another fascinating video! One piece of feedback (if it is okay with you): I notice that you are adding channel branding on some of your thumbnails, but not all of them. It is really helpful for me to pick out your videos in my feed (I sub to a lot of toy channels) if your thumbs have some common element. A logo, a unique color/tone, someone's face. Completely up to you. Like Daniel Day-Lewis, I will find you. But this might help others find you?
Keep up the good work!
We are at a show and made a split decision to change the thumbnail to have more confidence in the video traction which turned out to be the right move. Sorry you saw the one time we had to make a call while on the road.
Hope you had fun at the show!
We did.
SUPER COOL!😄!
No sword for g1
OMG $150 for that helmet? Does it light up or something ?
