Great question! Stern drives definitely would see a speed improvement as much as 6-8 knots and a corresponding reduction in fuel burn. Stern drive v. v-drive is always a trade off of performance v. maneuverability and maintenance with the latter being easier and slower.
This is NOT a 2005 390! 2006- 2008. This boat is a size smaller then the 2005 390! I do not believe this boat comes in diesels! The next size up has this option! I havre the 2005 390 w/ diesels. Good video but wrong year!
Thanks for watching! Good eye! The specs and photos are a 2005 390 but the video is a 2006 380. I did use video from a listing which claimed it was a 390. As I am sure you know, the 380, 390, 400 were remarkably similar in those years with some details like the side portholes and the rear cockpit entry being key differences. The 380 was not available with diesels but the 390 was.
Cruising Calypso yes… I believe I’ve seen that ad. This boat is the size smaller than the 2005 390. They were called the 380/or 370 depending on year. Speaking with SeaRay years ago they placed the 390 on several different sizes because the 390/was the most popular selling boat. So they used the term 390 for sales. The same size exact boat as mine the year prior was called the 400. I know I wanted diesels in a 40’ boat. Took me 2 years to find this boat. They are great boats! Still Very very happy after 5 years!
Do you have any photos of the underwater light's? Curious if they are factory or if they installed new ones
The performance shown is I believe for v drives . What improvement does the stern drive make ?

There are no " State Rooms" on this boat . There is a forward berth, barely a cabin.
Is that 31 gph per engine? At 3500rpm…
Hi, Thanks for watching! All the GPH figures are both engines combined. Hope that helps
How much is it ?
The Searay 390 Sundancer on th used market can be had for under 200K spending on if you want gas or diesel powered.
