Breathtaking. The scenery got more spectacular as you went on. The music was sublime. Well done. How did you guys meet? You are a great trekking duo. Thanks for the hard work.
So amazing to hike where there are no trails. These places you went are as remote, wild and beautiful as it gets. Thanks for all your hard work in shooting and editing these so we can all enjoy the places you've seen.
34:11 I am so jealous that you got to be there and all I could do is watch you on my frickin laptop. I think I've seen this vid now at least over a 100 times and that scene never gets old.....but I am.
Awesome Jerry, it was one of the best trips of my life as well, hope to be back in greater Yellowstone sometime soon, but right now I am having a blast exploring glaciers in Norway
what a great video.... both part one and two... really enjoyed it.... wonderful camera work.... great commentary on the appreciation of the beauty you experienced .... thank you for taking me to places i will never see.....
What an amazing hike, the scenery is sublime. You guys are so fortunate to be able to undertake these trips. I'm now 78, having hiked throughout my life, particularly in the four corners areas since 1992 although I'm an English oldtimer from Shropshire, really enjoying your U tube videos, so thankyou both.
Well that was just Epic! Thank you so much for doing what you do and sharing it with all of us. Glad to see Joey is alive, well and still at it. You guys covered a lot of ground over those 8 days. Truly impressive.
I didn't think it could get any better after part 1 but the hike thru the meadow to the summit going towards Glacier Basin was astounding. You and Joey were very fortunate to access such a remote area and be rewarded with such incredible views. Thanks for sharing, Jarl. Safe travels.
Didn’t want this to end. Great stuff. Struck the perfect balance between narration, music and of course, stunning photography. Looking forward to more from this YouTubing Nordic Xplorer. 5⭐️
Wildest one-of-a-kind hike in the lower 48. Bushwhacking and the challenge of finding the correct route put it over the top. I didn't realize that this area contained such a variety of terrain and geology. I'm watching it for the third time right now.
Your videography is amazing and captures the beauty and awe of these wild places with uniqueness and wonder. Thank you so much for taking me into this backcountry with Joey - he was smiling the biggest ever the entire adventure. Gratitude.
What an amazing video. You were able to capture so many beautiful parts of Yellowstone and the surrounding areas! Some of the views are just so vast and seem like they might go on forever!
I remain wordless at such a magnificence. Blue sky, green grass full of wildflowers in all colours, surrounded by huge mountainwalls and white glaciers.... ! Gorgeous ! My favourite phrase I hear you saying, Jarl, is "What a beautifull morning !" - For how many years have you been hiking ? Twenty ? It seems to me you and your buddy Joey have built up a solid healthy constitution ! Enduring tiredness and... wounded feet, no ?? I also wonder if your back doesn't get suffering from your heavy backpack.... 20 kilo ? Surely, throughout the years you've got used to it... Many thanks for these beautifull films !
Wow! What an epic wilderness backpacking adventure! Your video was magnificent and the music really fit the feel of the trip. Thank you so much for this art. I will never be able to do this, so I appreciate it even more!
I've hiked over 18,000 miles over the years and I have a great appreciation for your journey! I applaud you. It's a great feeling when you find the trail again! Beautiful mountain ranges.
Love all the videos. This was the first one I watched and while they are all amazing, something about this one takes the cake for me. That looked so wild with some amazing scenery. Adventure of a lifetime. Thanks for taking the time to film

Norwegian Xplorer , no trip planned yet, just riding the mustang for a friend. But so cool to think this horse was brought up in the wilds of central Oregon for the first three years of her life.

This is the best Yellowstone video I watched in youtube. I have seen many californian park's video based on thru hike videos, alpine fishing videos, camping videos etc but yours hit all the right spots that I enjoy. Thank you for bringing such adventure.
Leaving work now and absolutely can’t wait to see this next part buddy, what an incredibly awesome and just wild trip!! You guys knocked it out of the park with this one! 🏔🏕🙌🏻
This is one of the best backpacking videos I have ever seen. Incredibly beautiful scenery, so remote, just awesome.. thanks for sharing. I would love to do a trip like this, it looks like you almost pick your own adventure getting through areas. I did not know areas like this still existed in the United States.
Thank you Yarl & Joey. You guys are great, love the brief chit chat and the tons of spectacular views. Such incredible photography. I so hated for it to end.
I'm from Wyoming born and raised and have hiked every place except the cross from the Tetons to the Absaroka crossing the Thoroughfare. The hike you just finished. I'm too old to do this now but have always been curious. I don't know if Joey told you that there have been two major incidents with bears in the last several years. One involved a woman who wanted to camp for long periods in the area near Rampart. She was interested in studying bears despite what the rangers told her. Kind of a female version of Timothy Treadwell. She appeared on the road one day wild-eyed and refused to go back and get her stuff. The other was much more tragic and was over close to the Teton side. I couldn't tell how close you got to that section. In the Autumn there are outfitters that take hunters into the area and have their horses bolt, turn around and run back, as well as buck off their riders. Their ears are moving 24/7 and their nostrils are working overtime. I don't know if it's a blessing or a curse that you didn't encounter grizzlies. I think you're lucky that you didn't. But I'm old now.
Hey Scott, thanks for your insights, Yes I have heard storries from Joey and other sources about bear incidents, not the particular one you mention with the woman, but others, about outfitters being attacked by bears while hunting in this exact area etc. We were very much on guard at all times and built perimeters around our camps every night and I am sure there were many bears that were aware of us but choose to ignore us. It was very warm and we think the bears were hunkered down at higher ground to cool off. Rampart creek felt very very far out and wild for sure! Joey has encountered many Grizzlies out in the Thorofare, but this was also his first time up Open Creek and Rampart.
I just watched this again, this time with my 90 year old mom. I wanted to share some inspiring scenery with her. Such beauty! A very welcome change from all the turmoil going on in the world. Really cool trip Jarl! I've done several trips in Yellowstone and the Absarokas. In September I'm doing a backcountry trip around southeast Yellowstone. Started investigating a route to the headwaters of Yellowstone River and came across your two-part video. I normally don't watch long videos of other people hiking, but for some reason I watched both parts of this in one sitting. Reminiscent of a Beartooth Mountains trip I did several years ago. Joey is a hoot.
Oh My Goodness!! Parts 1 and 2 are spectacular! The color and definition in your video is very professional, but I’m most taken by your professional composition abilities. Please submit this to National Geographic for their inclusion in their library.
