It’s a status thing, as I witnessed at my university. And if your mom and grandmother were in a sorority, or your dad and grandfather were in a fraternity, that was a BIG deal. Those organizations were required to take you as a legacy. Not sure if that’s how they still roll, though. The whole thing was kind of dumb, but to each their own. 🤷🏻♀️
She was pretty traumatized by that Ross guy though, so it might have been hard to make him seem like a decent person. It sounds like John was a less extreme scumbag and could pass as redeemable.
