  • In this webinar, with Hamoda Youssef from the Qatar Green Building Council, we talk about achieving thermal comfort and energy balance for green buildings. The main factors impacting the indoor thermal comfort of occupants are explained and assessed through the predicted mean vote (PMV) and the percentage of people dissatisfied (PPD) value. The thermal comfort parameters discussed include environmental factors such as clothing coefficient, metabolic rate, and humidity as well as CFD computed values of air temperature, mean radiant temperature (MRT), and airspeed.
The project presented in this video focuses on the HVAC design components of an office space in Qatar. The general setup is demonstrated, taking into account parameters like the insulation of the walls, the outdoor temperature, and the radiative heat coming from the sun. The original case results are presented, followed by a discussion around design improvements and additional simulation runs. Learn how to balance energy consumption and achieve acceptable thermal comfort with SimScale!

Great video! Do you have any reference paper for the cad and boundary conditions. Experimental validation will be very much helpful.

Hi, we drew the room ourselves to keep it simple. There is plenty of validation on our site, are these sufficient?

      Hi Jon,
      Thanks for reply.
I was talking about validation of HVAC case study you performed in this video. Something similar to this paper scholar.google.com/scholar?client=ms-android-xiaomi&um=1&ie=UTF-8&lr&q=related:TVEHv6dJfnyS2M:scholar.google.com/#d=gs_qabs&u=%23p%3DTVEHv6dJfnwJ
