It requires 0W-40 not 20W-50 ! Even the later models only require 5W-50 Full synthetic. I have a 2004 Sportsman 700 similar to this one , 2010 sportsman 550, 2017 sportsman 570, 2018 570 and a 2017 Sportsman 850 SP.
+Rob's Wrenches haha definetly and probably won’t work my about the head gasket we hardly use the four wheeler besides pushing snow, still has good amount of power to it
A 6-7" Phillips screwdriver will get off those old stuck oil filters. Just place it near the end of the filter and hammer it right on through to the other side and rotate. If you can't move it by hand, just punch a hole in it again and rotate it more. Adding oil to the seal helps but "Polaris" is known for snowmobiles, not ATVs/UTVs. The manual states don't drive through 6" of water, is that an ATV? Heck, get a custom go-cart.
Looks like you're changing the head gasket

Wow, it looks like melted chocolate. Yeah, I'd say it was overdue for service.
You gonna do the head gasket yourself?

Why not just put Barz leak alumiseal in that girl, and some Lucas oil stabilizer, prob get a few more years out of her yet. 👍
Your mechanic Fram is one of the worst filters you should be using OEM stuff and not regular motor oil
You're wasting your breath giving this guy any advice about maintenance.
