How to Change a Watch Battery

- You will need case back opener, a small screwdriver and a case back closer.
1. To remove the back cover first turn the watch over and locate the small depression along the edge. This will easily come off with a watch case back opener. Next remove the rubber like gasket right below the back cover.
2. Now locate the battery. If a spring clip is holding the battery, then pry it from under the clip with a small flat-bladed screwdriver. If there is a cover over the battery, then remove that with small screwdriver then try to remove the batteries.
3. Replace old battery with a new one and place into the watch body in exactly the same position with the same side down and carefully place it under the clip clasp or replace the battery cover and screw.
4. Lastly, replace the back cover. Use a case back closer to clasp it shut.
NOTE: If you spot screws on the back cover then remove them using a small screwdriver to lift off the cover, instead of a case back opener.

Thank God it is short into the point unlike the other videos where it’s 15 minutes
Thank you! I was able to change my watch battery. I used a razor blade to pop it open and my hands to press it closed!
Thanks for this comment. I thought tools needed to be purchased. Good lord! Lol
I did the same thing. No dedicated tools. Single edge razor blade with the reinforced stiffened edge to gently get it open. Remove plastic internal chassis and change battery. Was marked as a SR626SW. I used a Duracell 377/376 equivalent for $6.00. When replacing the cover, I had to reinsert a thin rubber seal around the rear cover before closing. I put in flat on a table and pushed down gently to get the back on.
THANK YOU for this comment
Awesome bass and drums jam!! Love it!!

Where do you get that specialty clamp/press?
Good work
Didn't help me with my watch but cool bass playing lol! Is it you playing?
*Thanks bro*
Thank brother
Thanks ,i did it.
Don't know if this carries over but I'm told that with hearing aid batteries that it's best not to touch with bare hands as the oils from the hand can be a barrier to the circuit. With the size tolerances so exact that is can disrupt the charge. Maybe there's more standardization with watch batteries and that isn't an issue. Hearing aid batteries don't last very long.
Which watch brands are easeist to change the battery?

Sliding that new battery in without bending things is not easy. I've done many but it's not that easy.
Where to buy the watch caseback opener?
I have a guinness watch that has no notch. Been sitting for years because I can't get it open to change the battery.
what is the size of this battery?
377/376 or sr626
Easy if you have those tools kicking around 😭 I do not which is why I'm here no solution
There’s a video a couple back that I was watching. It was how to change your watch battery with regular household tools.
While doing this felt like I am on a mission 😅😅..... Btw 30 rs bch gye
so there is a purposed press to close them...I just went nuts for over an hour trying to close a made in China CITIZEN with two pairs of pliars whilst trying to avoid breaking the friggen glass which would have been the end of the watch....
Keep all that music.
Do I need to have obnoxious music playing in the background to do the job successfully ?
Pretty sure it goes without saying, but yes, 100%.
