Never thought to clean up that wheel that the disk sits on. Good show ol boy! I've used my own disc fixer and then used a mild automotive polish afterwards and polished by hand carefully to save some discs when needed. Thanks for sharing

Hey man thanks to your advice I was able to get midnight club 1 working. although all I did was take a few cue tips and two pipe cleaners and I did my best to get the dust off of it from the front with the tray open.
and I did cover one of the pipe cleaners in a little bit of medicinal alcohol and then dried the rubber off with the other one
sweet, hopefully the video can pick up more momentum views wise as it seems to be helping people out!

Great video!!, My mother and i, trying to do routine maintainence, took our ps2 to a "not turning on" point from which we couldn't wake it up untill yestarday, we replaced some blown fuses and it incredibly turned on! Now it won't show any display, no video, no audio signal, things here in Venezuela, are deeply hard, so we're working on the console by ourselves, please be kind and tell us what you think about the problem. this fixed my ps2 to run blue disc games. just remove dust from spindel.

ive been going all over you tube for a solution for this problem and it was because the laser was all the way up and it had to be low
I'm having the opposite problem. Music CDs and blue discs work fine, but DVDs don't work.

I’ve been having a blast playing my ps2 again but I just bought hot wheels world race and it won’t read it !
The disc looks almost perfect and it was tested before I bought it and it worked but mine at home won’t read it. I know it’s a blue back compact disc and ps2 has trouble reading those. I played velocity x with no issues and it is a compact disc as well.

got midnightclub dub edition silver disc in perfect condition. i saw the game play on a different ps2 so I know it works and every other game I have works on my ps2 but this game doesn’t play. It spins and then it goes to a screen that says memory card and the other option is ps2 disc. If I press memory card nothing happens and if I press ps2 disc nothing happens

classicretrogameroom It's happens cause you play them. They will still look mint. I play them loads of games, if my nes gets 72 pin connector problem then im replacing the 72 pin connector. been playin games like probotector and castlevania. if you hate playing nes games slow then i recommend a nes-101 (top loader). there is awesome mega drive clone called the megadrive x, it plays 60hz. plays japanese and american mega drive games. it only costs £24

This did not work for my blue disc..bummer
another way ( if you're willing to try it) is by putting a small amount of tape , like scotch tape or whatever, around the hole on the disc. the older discs are too light and skip easily but adding a tiny amount of weight helps them play.
@@masteriansun tried that also, didn't work. However if turned on it's side some blue disc do work but not all the time.

yeah they used them because they where cheaper to produce and were used for lower storage needed games like half life 1.
yeah i can imagine, the blue discs do look shit though!
I think some of them are GD ROMs like on the Dreamcast for the early games
