With every video- we appreciate the tough job you ( and every other honest & hard working tow guy & gal) are faced with each day. We get to see how entitled so many people are- and their refusal to “ play by the rules”. I agree with towing policies at apartment complexes and trailer parks…you pay rent there- you abide by the rules. You cannot miss the usually Bright Orange stickers slapped on cars- so call, call, call and just fix whatever violation they tell you…OR there will be some nonconsensual towing going on!

Your job requires a hard physically working man as well as one who can explain the unknown reason why you must do what you do without being shot and in most cases cause more friction between the vehicle owner and yourself. There are so many of us who couldn't do the job you do without losing our tempers every now and then and possibly losing the account in doing so as well much less than getting shot or attacked in one way or another. I used to own a Goldwing 1800 (about 800 plus pounds) and I could turn it around to face the other direction pretty easily.
You can spin a bike around on its kickstand! Standing on the side of the bike with the stand, pull the bike so it leans toward you and is supported by the stand and the front wheel. By adjusting the weight backwards onto the kickstand you can spin the entire bike around on the stand alone. Keep pulling backwards to balance. Too much forward movement can collapse the stand. You can probably find a video showing how to do it.

So a couple of things to help you out.
In the Expedition, it was probly a ball joint that failed. That is very common with older Fords. 2 things that could have helped you load that one up.
If I had rolled up on that exact scene, I first would have laid my bed down, hooked up like you did, but then after I got the cable tight, would have released my airbrakes, aired up the airbags, and let my truck be in Neutral, and turn the wheel slightly to the right, and secured my steering wheel of the tow truck with the seat belt to hold it at the turn angle. As you begin winching the vehicle up, lift the bed up so it is barely touching the ground. Instead of dragging the vehicle on the ground, you will basically winch your truck under the vehicle, (turning your truck to align it properly too) stopping just before the bed touches the front tires or axle that is on the ground. At this point, set the airbrakes, use the stinger to lift the vehicle off the ground, as the bed won't have enough oomph to do it by itself, but the stinger will, set your skates, and finish loading. This way you can avoid ripping off the front bumper covers if on lowered vehicles.
The second option is at the moment that the pizza dude asked if you wanted help, simply lift the bed up, air up your bags, and crank the wheel of the tow truck to the left. Pull forward, and as you do, the vehicle will straighten out. Then resume normal loading.
Been towing for 10 years, 2007 F650 Jerr-Dann Aluminum bed with 6.7 Cummins, 2009 Dodge 3500 Wrecker with sling and scoops, also 6.7 Cummins, finally ended with a 2015 Chevy with 6.0 Autoloader.
