great to see another uptick in the production quality, marlow - do consider a small lapel mic to keep the volume level constant, your advice is so valuable and well thought out its a shame to lose any of it - also shoot a few variations on your b-roll to keep the transitions between mushrooms engaging - splendid work - looking forward to another course next year!

No one cares about sound quality. He is audible and intelligible. So many creators, especially small ones, get comments from a small but vociferous minority of sound snobs and I've seen it cause no end of unnecessary worry, expense and discouragement. Most will be listening through awful smartphone speakers, integrated monitor speakers or earbuds. It doesn't matter. As long as the gain level os loud enough to hear through all of these, it's fine. (Shoutout to BigMoodEnergy for running a successful and engaging channel with atrocious audio production standards.)

Picked up a nice bag of trooping funnels today: 200 yards from my front door: promptly pickled them in white wine and cider vinegar, with some home grown chili, garden herbs, spice and a few wild garlic buds left from my spring foraging. Thanks for all your educational and entertaining viddys, Marlowe, and I recommend anyone to buy your foraging book, its bouncing with goodness!

@@WildFoodUK1 Yes, it was great, I picked a lot more super-troopers this year, some fresh (they keep for at least two weeks in the fridge) some for the freezer, some for pickles. Had some more tonight with a spicy beef 'n bean casserole as it happens. I honestly have no idea why this mushroom isn't as well treasured as the penny buns or chanterelles, because it is a culinary classic, a bit like a King Oyster really.

I love your seasonal / monthly type videos, I love foraging but don’t have the time to get out as much ad I’d like, or the brain space to remember everything I’ve seen or read if I’m not applying it, so this type of video gives me a booster of inspiration and some good current info to go try and apply… so thanks for the great videos, much appreciated! That green mushroom looks like an interesting little character. I've never seen one of those before. I was out yesterday in the woods and came across a large group of Trooping Funnels. I picked a couple and will try them today for the first time. I've had a good look on the web to make sure they are indeed those mushrooms and as mine are over 10cm wide I am confident that I've identified them correctly. They have the umbo in the middle anyway so I don't they're any other type of mushroom.

Blood caps can lactate orange [Pinetell in Catalan} or wine-dark red {Rovellons in Catalan}. Another characteristic is that they rust green when older, although they're as good. Plus watch for worms [they devour them on the inside]. They're the best grilled with garlic, salt Parsley and olive oil.

Hi there, I have one question,
HOW CAN YOU IDENTIFY A MUSHROOM BY ITS COLOR? You say you are color blind!
I am first time listener to your mushroom channel,
HI tbere and warm greeting and a high five 👋 from( me ) country gal from New Jersey 👋
Oh my goodness. The huge Black trumpet mushroom I knew exactly what you found,
I have a large area of black trumpet mushrooms they make their appearance almost every late summer into autumn
I am in The U.S. but far from city ,
when we first moved to the country our State is still all pine with trees and maple trees everywhere, a sanctuary for wildlife and birds and protected by law by our State to keep our State wilderness 🌳 🌲 🌴 🌳
When they cleared out the property for the construction of thee 12 homes,
They removed many trees and nature surrounding it.
Though our area surrounding our house still woodsy and plenty of nature and with new baby pine trees every new season. .
Butearly on when we first moved in we lacked in mushrooms, none to be found
In the woodlands as well I suspect the wildlife surely the deer, skunk, ground hog , field rabbits and hungry wild turkey all had their way devouring mushrooms.
This past late summer I collected baby tiny Indian Pipe ( ghost pipe) not a regular to our property, I discovered tiny gathering of Indian Pipe along the fallen leaves and pine needles hiding under green MOSS,
I have watched a few youtube videos for Medicinal tincture
The tincture Turned out Just as I expected 🥰 oh my goodness 100 perfect.
surprise surprise I see variety of mushrooms each one identified of its specie
our land is ( one 1/2 acreage around) its a residential small community mainly 12 homes
but some of our neighbors have kept chickens before and ginea hens to help control the relentless a annoying summer mosquito population.
    Oh my gosh ,
I do apologize for rambling on, can not help myself I am super excited after viewing your video Wow 👌 I needed to share ❤
Wow I have learned so much already ! Thank you thank you so much,
Trumpets are highly sought after, WOW oh my gosh Oh my gosh and I have a bounty of Trumpets.
Throughout our summer I have collected Chicken of the woods and I believe but don't recall the proper name variety of chanterels mushrooms I think the pink ones and yes I check first if edible or not.
    many unedibles mushrooms, which of course I leave behind for the wildlife. 🦌🦌 🦌 🐇 🐰 🐇 🐦 🦜 🐢 🐢
20 years ago, we had no mushrooms anywhere, our community is around 22 years old
My male friend and his family had come to visit us years ago and all tbe way from Italy
My homeland. So decided to go hunting around our property and into the woodlands,
Sad to say No mushrooms, not a one 😔 our land nature was disturbed uprooted from all the construction to build these houses.
My friend Hes gone now RIP 🙏 🕊
if he were still here he would be so so happy happy he would not want to stop forging
😲 at the banquet of mushrooms galore all for His liking and picking 😃
I wish he were here still to be just as amazed as I am right now !
    ❤ 💙 💜 💖 💗 💘
Ive collected trumpets - dehydrated them for later use !
I've also eaten dehydrated trumpets BIG NO-NO but accidently without a second thought popped two small dried up trumpets inside my mouth the burst of wilderness and scent of wild mushroom filled every pore inside my mouth and nostrils and WHAT a kick bunch assault inside my mouth. Wow Wow
My tongue felt alien a bit leathery and swollen my teeth felt rubbery as well
I was ready to drive to EMERGENCY ASAP. Luckily I didn't have to
THE weird sensation vanished after a few mins.
Yes almost all edible wild mushrooms should be cooked first,
I know but on that day it was sudden jerk reaction to eat that dried trumpet
I'm laughing now, and I am okay 👍
I enjoy to forge around, I land is free from commercial pesticides and fertilizers
My land grows naturally the green emerald moss is intense in some areas
    like a soft velvety carpet,
I grow my own food as much as I possibly can outdoors and indoors
I keep a small veggies garden oaround tbe side of our house where the sun is the strongest
The surrounding trees out back would not be ideal for growing a veggies
    A. Green house is a possibilty and it would work-out
Maybe next spring , but will have to get a permit from our township to clean out some of the trees on our property , and allow that awesome 😎 sunlight to shine in. 🌞 ☀️ 🌤
Thank you for allowing me to share with you and your audience my own personal mushroom adventure !
    Happy autumn happy forging 🍄 🍄 🍄
    Stay safe
    Take care 😃
