@@rbrdly Whenever I go out on my boat, peace and quiet, fishing, swimming, whatever...I tend to understand that I don't own the water or the sky over it. Maybe we shouldn't worry about what "Karen" believes to be a nuisance.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to help us out. I just got the Mavic Air 2 a couple weeks ago. This video definitely is helpful and your video production is outstanding. I can't wait to get out and try all these features. Keep the videos coming.. Appreciate you.

I've still got the Mavic Pro but it has spotlight and tripod modes which are similar. I've been practicing speeding through tight spaces in trees lately. DJI drones are amazing 👏

Subbed for the intro alone! I haven’t used my air 2 nearly enough. Your channel is changing that single handedly. You got a discoed or something to join too to talk about stuff?
Had no (zero) idea MA2 had any zoom function. I use the spotlight with my Frisbee dogs, but they are too small to lock onto. I will be looking into the zoom today. TY.
That looks amazing . I haven't try that feature yet. The part of Mexico where I'm living is not interesting but with these flying modes it's easy to make it look great, In HDR 😱
It's an awesome feature, thank you very much, but will it film like in this video if I change the altitude while recording with active track lock on the subject ?
I agree spotlight is awesome. It allows you to focus on flying the drone without worrying about keeping the POI in center of frame. Excellent demo Sean!
Wow that was informative. I knew about it but did not know it was that easy. I will be checking this out next time I fly. Thanks for the info!! New guy here. I supported your channel from the spin-up live stream!!
Excellent, Sean - thanks for this! Am I right in assuming, that I can still control the height of the MA2 in Spotlight mode (left stick, up/down) - as long as I don’t try to rotate the drone (left stick, left/right)? Guess you’d be fighting the drone in that case??? Thanks again, awesome!😀👍
Thanks for this. This is exactly the shot I want to reproduce but with a faster moving boat (powerboat). However the weather has been bad enough (wind) for some weeks now on days when I could fly/go out in the boat so I have not been able to try apart from once. I have not found a video yet that explains "stick position" in spotlight mode. When I tried it, I could not get it right. Starting behind the boat, I would enter spotlight and start to circle around, at this point I have "forward" stick on to keep up with the boat. As I came around alongside and started to go in front of the boat I would end up going over the top of the boat rather than staying at the same horizontal distance. This is because I could not cope with the "control" reversal as the drone transitions to the front (ie. from going "forward" to follow the boat it has to transition to going "backward" to maintain the distance in front of the boat. I realise professional stick jockeys can do all this manually but I want to get the system to help me as much as it can. So its must be either spotlight or POI mode I guess but could someone explain where the control sticks move to achieve this? Its a powerboat at wakeboarding speed, about 20mph.
@@SeanOzz yep! like go walking in a hanging bridge and you controlling at the same time the drone in spotlight mode, something like this could be great to see 😊

Do you know of a setting that brings the speed down, or will it be a firmware update issue. I noticed this on my first flight out the box, and the issue remains to this day. Thanks.
yes, it does seem a tad fast on the yaw. i agree. we can slow it down in the fly app though. slow the yaw and slow the gimbal up down pitch and that will help!
@@SeanOzz yeah. they say the forward speed should be around 4/5 mph. mine sure go much faster than that. like in normal mode speed. i got the yaw to a slow speed. the gimbal is no problem., but i need to get my forward speed down. I owned a mavic pro 2, and the tripod mode on that was real slow. thanks for the reply.
I was just wondering if you contacted the people in the sailboat and gave them some video? I bet they would love it! It would lessen the impact of you "harassing" them, too. I know - public space = no privacy. Liked and Subscribed!
@@SeanOzz The drone does not stop at the max altitude setting. Also, the remote control often beeps on start-up. I can recalibrate and it will go way for the day, but the next time out it will beep like crazy again. DJI says to send it back. Needless to say, I am crushed.
Hopefully they send u a new replacment. They are notorious for sending used refurbished gear as replacments. Depending where you bought it , do a return and buy a new one.
@@minnesotadrone5922 can you give me some updates please? I'm thinking of selling my mavic air 1 and getting the mavic air 2, so I'm just looking around for problems before I make the decision. Thanks
@@clmfilms8103 First off, I love this drone! It really is amazing tech. The sad thing is, I have not heard of any new Air 2s with the RC beeping issue. (Seemed more prevalent to the Air 1.) I have re-calibrated the remote a number of times and the beeping would always return, but so far lately, it has now stopped. (Knock on wood.) The other issue is flying beyond the set max altitude. It does warn me exactly as it should, however I can still rise above my preset limit. I have not heard of anyone with this issue yet, so kind of odd. Other than that, the drone flies beautiful. Super impressed with how this handles in the wind. Absolutely love the drone. Where I live there is a lot of air traffic, so the ADS-B Air-Sense has been a godsend. It works very well! DJI wants me to send the drone back to inspect and fix. The good news is that it only has to go to California and will only be in their hands for 5-7 days, so it sounds like a quick turnaround. Love this drone. Will miss it while it's gone.

I owned a mavic pro 2, and the tripod mode on that was real slow. thanks for the reply.
Spotlight mode is great! Nice video Sean
It really is!
@@SeanOzz Amazing!
Note: Spotlight works in sports mode!
Great for filming jet skis
No other DJI drone can Spotlight in sports mode :(
Cool 😎 video
Happy Flying 🙂
Nice tip. Thanks.
Can you get closer?
Can you get closer than that? I would like to be able to get some jet ski footage closer up ✌️
Thank you! Greetings from Frankfurt, Germany!
Thank you too!
Great video. I have been kicking around the idea of diving in and getting a drone. Great tips!
Go for it!
Finally Short and sweet!!! Thanks Bro !! New subscriber
Thanks. Glad it was helpful.
I was just wondering if you contacted the people in the sailboat and gave them some video? I bet they would love it! It would lessen the impact of you "harassing" them, too. I know - public space = no privacy. Liked and Subscribed!
John and Suzy loved the footage. ;)
Thanks for the sub and comment.
Just curious what you use to do screen capture on your mobile device? Thx!
Built in screen capture they come with
Awesome videos as always Ozz 🙌🏼
Glad you like them!
Its beautiful there. What lake is that?
Dillon
Grays and Torreys back there? Beautiful stuff! Thanks for sharing!
Yep. Thanks for watching.
Great tip for us newbies! Now I gotta fo try it! :) Thanks for sharing!
You're welcome. Stay tuned for a more detailed version.
Didn't know this feature is this great. Thanks
It's my favorite feature on it.
Very cool. Thanks very much Sean. Love the Air 2! Mine has issues, but still love this drone. Thanks for the demo.
Oh no. What issues ??
I love your videos bro... but it seems nobody talks about holding the fn button a moving the camera scroll wheel gives you a more cinematic zoom
Weird. I did ij another video and show how it doesn't achieve what u can against the mavic zoom.
@@SeanOzzit does, you can try it yourself
I have done it many times. It is great if sitting still. Did you not see the video?
Check it out. Zoom is still king with optical zoom and a scroll wheel.

Very nice video .. nice flight. Keep it up you're doing great!
Thank you. Hopefully you are doing great also.
And... 3 years later, this is still a great feature that is available on my Mini 3 Pro! I'm sure it is on the Mini 4 Pro as well as the new Air 3!
Sure is. Good stuff.
This is what I have been saying. Spotlight is the best feature for me. I frequently use it on my Mavic 2 zoom
It's a great feature!
Thanks for sharing this cool feature. This drone is amazing.
No problem 👍
