I've been working for BMW and that button, that you have to push to open the fuel cap is to prevent the petrol from exploding in your face. Petrol vapor can potentially built up and won't be burned off, if you drive in electric mode for too long. All hybrid cars have that button to get rid of petrol vapor
11:17 although a bit gimmicky nowadays, Porsche is the last automaker to keep the tradition of the LeMans-style start ignition switch. Back in the day, racing drivers would run to their cars, start them and drive off. Porsches has the ignition switch located opposite of the gear shifter so drivers could shave a few seconds by simultaneously starting the car with one hand, using the other to shift into first and set off faster than their competition... good times.
Great review. Just one comment... the criticism regarding the volume control on the console... once you’ve owned the car, you’ll realize that the swivel knob and volume control are perfectly placed when you are resting your hand on the shift lever, which is intentionally shaped like a little platform to rest the heel of your hand on while your fingers can basically reach pretty much all the controls on the console as well as the touchscreen. It’s brilliant once you get used to it, and clearly it was designed that way from scratch as it works so very well. Just wanted to point that out, as you mentioned the same thing with the Panamera. Great review, I enjoy all your videos.
Shahid Khan He‘s always really brutal with these cars. I‘ve noticed that many times before already. The way he stomps on these touch screens or anything in the car really
If I remember correctly the BMW 530E (hybrid) has the same petrol cap that can be opened only from the inside. The reasoning is that the fuel tank needs to be pressurized, as petrol spoils after some time. So if you drive only on electric, you have longer petrol "longevity" in your fuel tank. BTW their old hybrid system could do 30-35km only on electric, but the new X5 that goes out later 2019 could make 70km full electric, so for your average commute you can go full electric and only use petrol over the weekends outside of the city.
Porsche is the master of changing their designs while keeping them the same. A kid at my school drives an older Cayenne, and, despite being almost the same shape, it looks so old. Same deal with 911s. The new ones are the same shape but look so different

I test drove both the e-hybrid and the S back to back. I found that the hybrid felt sportier and far more reactive. The torque is available straight away, and the manner in which the electric and petrol engine kick in together is fantastic. Off a race track, I would image the e-hybrid would be the more fun. As for the green elements, these can all be 'removed' free of charge. Just a question of taste whether which way you want to go. The options list on Porsche, as with many German cars, is long and can add up. Still, the best SUV that I have had the chance to drive by quite some margin.

Dapdoi Ardon all that stuff is still a luxury so why would a budget car have it? You seem to want far too much from a car, what’s ridiculous is Audi making you pay £100 for cup holders in the rear of the A6 and A7 with two USB ports. The S Class, A8 etc though are awful for standard equipment, you would be paying for stuff the A6 and e class have. The only way you are getting that stuff for free as standard is if you get a car costing 3 tines as much as the polo such as an Arteon but even then a rear view camera won’t be standard. Keyless start only recently came to cheaper cars, not a game changer unlike keyless entry and hey digital cockpit display.. not even the golf has that as standard, you need to pay for it in that. Bear in mind no Audi up until the A7 has that for free and the same for the S class with Mercedes and 5 series for the BMW. Options are pointless to buy though unless you want to waste money, I would suggest looking for a car with as much of it as possible but you would need to go to the Asian car manufactures 🤢 or up your budget.
Dapdoi Ardon you know very little about how manufactures use options and standard equipment to sell cars. We have VAG group cars and BMW’s that’s why I used them for an example as I have real world experience not just baseless claims. We aren’t being ripped off it’s the fact that the Asian car manufactures are giving their cars loads of standard equipment to sell the car. Why would I buy one over a German car when quality is far worse, residuals and technology overall? I own a 2018 Panamera E-Hybrid that I drive daily, around 1200 miles a month locally (work commute, errands, fun stuff, etc.) on average, and I fill up on gas/petrol only once every 5 weeks or so -- priceless! One news item that has come out in the last couple of months that you didn't know about when you did this review is that Porsche is coming out in the next year with a new Coupé that is more sporty and dynamic, and which which will have an E-Hybrid version also. A second news item that has come out in the last few months was the statement by Porsche CEO Oliver Blume that Porsche is improving the tech in its E-Hybrid battery packs for vehicles produced in 2020 that will presumably extend the range by another 20-30 percent (thus, up to 30 miles of all-electric range for the Cayenne E-Hybrid in real-world driving, probably starting with MY2021, but possibly MY2020).

It's ridiculous with the yellow fluorescent brake calipers. Not talking about the material quality and road performance though, very impressive for sure but my god how uninspired can one be...for that kind of money. There are very few nice looking suv's in my book, but of course taste is personal and subjective almost impossible to discuss. Don’t buy such an expensive VAG car. It shares a lot with Touareg. Feels cheap at some parts like manual steering wheel adjustment (WTF??). Manual dimming interior mirror (OMG!). Bad VAG driver assistant systems - nothing like the ones from BMW or MB, bad touchscreen only infotainment. Overall the new X5 or the GLE are much better.

Not talking about the material quality and road performance though, very impressive for sure but my god how uninspired can one be...for that kind of money. There are very few nice looking suv's in my book, but of course taste is personal and subjective almost impossible to discuss.
So I wonder, how would you spec it to stand out from the 1,000 other Porsche Cayenne's riding in your neighborhood?
Don’t buy such an expensive VAG car. It shares a lot with Touareg. Feels cheap at some parts like manual steering wheel adjustment (WTF??). Manual dimming interior mirror (OMG!). Bad VAG driver assistant systems - nothing like the ones from BMW or MB, bad touchscreen only infotainment. Overall the new X5 or the GLE are much better.
@@pavlins123 no they're not much better, I'm sorry.
Brother,i use a new range rover sport 2018 phev,that’s a great car...and it’s miles better than the porshe..Believe me..
Best presenter ever, funny, detailed,
YES! A Porsche review by Carwow! Next thing you"ll know is Mazdas and Jeeps being reviewed too 😂
@Damon Wayans The only thing i dislike about them is that they don't offer a digital display screen. Besides, everything about their cars screams quality.
Thank GOD you listened to me and did Porsche Cayenne review. Love you
according to video the info system doesnt seem to be that responsive...
Cameras cant pick up screens very well.
@@zunaid9148 i mean its not that fast. its lagging
@@ivangalik7848 exactly thats what it will look like on cameras. Cuz the image flashes really fast. Our eyes cant pick that up but cameras can.
@@zunaid9148 i am not talking about flickering . i am talking about when you push and call any function on the screen the reaction of the system is slow --> lagging
@@ivangalik7848 yes it senses the picture flashing really fast to defy the human eye and displays it in 30 fps which is the formatting of this video whereas the real refresh rate of an LCD is 60fps.
All of those animations are just different images displayed really quickly
Wow you are finally getting your hands on some Porsche's! I'm happy for you guys!
Can’t wait to see women in fake sunglasses and fake gym clothes dropping their kids off at school in this car🤣
Edit: OMG thank u for so many likes
Anyone able to afford this car can afford non-fake sunglasses and gym clothes.
You numpty why spend 60-70 grand on this and buy fake sunglasses???
Posers everywhere.
Adam Allie you mean the rich ass family with the sport car mom and her kids are with gucci clothes that everybody hates because they are jealous and spear rumors that they are drug dealers?
Fake sunglasses ?! What ?!!
Great video for carwow’s first Porsche review 😀👍🏻👌🏻
Top Gear should’ve been this man, Alex Kersten and Chris Harris
I love that the center console shake is a standard carwow test now.
I don't think abandoning diesels is the right way to go
Do you want to get lung cancer?
I don't think the issue with the fuel filler cap an Annoying problem..it's actually a great feature...no one is going to steel your charge when it's parked somewhere... Bit some one could drain your fuel....so it's better be locked from inside when parked
So that new Corsa griffin has a heated wheel/ seats as standard but a £50,000+ car doesn't? Joke.
archechme Buy the Corsa then poor boy
@@whyme4476 I don't need a Corsa I have my 8 year old 130,000 mile Audi.
I have been watching your vidoes for quiet some time now, and i must really say it, i really love ur vidoes. Ur vidoes fulfill my fascination of cars.
Please review the Panamera!!!
the intro was priceless and brilliant....😂😂
Some say he's still shaking the centre console..
I was waiting for the review eagerly
Love ya Mat
lol paying extra for stuff that should be basic equipment on car like this. go away porsche, you're drunk
Mario D. Zmaj lol American models have all that standard
Go away, but come to me lol
Mahabeaut Smitt because Americans don’t buy German cars. Here they don’t need to offer anything extra, that’s what the cheaper car manufactures do here. Plus you are paying way more for the car anyway so...
Chatta290 Americans buy a lot of german cars bub
Mahabeaut Smitt yeah not as much as here though in terms of market share. Pretty much most of the best selling cars here are German, I should have worded it differently but here German cars don’t cost thousands more than a Ford for example unlike the US, maybe £2000 more but the residuals would be far better and so will everything else in terms of quality.
Mate, your description of a Cayenne is excellent. Please do more Porsche reviews.
Why don't you review porsche Panamera turbo s e hybrid 😏
He'll review a STUPID BASE LEVEL PANAMERA. Wait and see.
@@nickbutler9384 Jokes on you, he reviewed the Turbo S-E.
Excellent review mat 👍🏼👍🏼
What’s the tax on this on is vehicle, I would imagine it’s expense in England.
Such excellent reviews man.. So well planned
Hmm 16:20 mark the wheels logo looks like a spinning Swastika mark. Very Interesting in various ways
hmmmmmmmmmmm 🤔🤔🤔🤔
I also see it there 🤔
Ohhhh shitttttt
Oh shit, u just busted something brooo.
It... very clearly doesn’t. For one, the wheels have five twin spokes.
Can you make a Porsche macan review? I love your style of review-you talk about things practical drivers care about lol. I would love to know how you find the space in the macan as a small suv/crossover
9:04 he actually scratched the paintwork 😪
A Porsche review from you guys!? The name says it Wow! Finally
Wait so the car doesn’t have an electronic steering wheel for that price?!?!?
Well your only really gonna use it once or twice
@@IReapZz95 this is a Porsche not a lazy SUV...
@@328skipad2Porsche is the combination of luxury and sports cars. If you think having the electric wheel is lazy then you are definitely missing what Porsche is, especially at this price point. It's not laziness its called comfort and competition
Best reviews ever, great job
Oh another Touraeg review nice.... oh its an Audi Q7 or is it.... Hmmm Mat why are you reviewing the Bentley Bentayga again. Or maybe it is just the porsche cayenne. Or it is just me.
The group of things wow havent heard of that one before. So funny I almost forgot to laugh
This is my dream car...one day I own it....in future maybe...😎
That charging cable is soo heavy
And?!?

That infotainment center is super laggy.
Julian Green That’s because it’s filmed. In real life it’s Perfect, I already tried it ;)
Agreed. Driven one. Long lag.
@@lorenzmuller4000 So why other filmed cars do not lag ?
Julian Green its very responsive
@@turbos7780 It is not responsive. It lags. That is what touchscreen phones and stnavs from 2008 did. MBUX does not lag. I drive does not lag. That lags.
That two piece sun visor is brilliant! 😎
I think the concept of a two-piece visor was first introduced in the Volkswagen Touareg Mk.I
If you want a Porsche with backspace, just get the Panamera Sport Turismo.
That small cubby makes a great pocket change holder.
No one cares if you're first.
They are the worst people on UA-cam, no decency no class just plain disrespect for the video poster.
Such an achievement, those ‘first comments’
Your girlfriend cares if you came first.
“Pay extra, pay extra, pay extra”
great.
Lamborghini gurus please
Devendra Nikam wew
Its lamborghini urines
@Luke Holland you are hell right buddy
Finally! A Porsche review
Pfft can you imagine how much Porsche would charge you for a replacement Isofix mount cover?! Holy Jesus Mary and Joseph
Hey Mat, Thanks for this review. I already bought the Cayenne 2019 but couldn't enjoy the car till your stamp of approval.
Man u have the same sweater as me!
I think Man C have it as well..
