    Just as an fyi we just finished a competition this past weekend and ended up 12 out of 30, so we were actually an alliance captain in the end. Don't underestimate this robot. Just do lots of practice driving.

    I was wondering what you would come up with knowing the KoP came with an already everybot-like robot assembly, the mostly passive amp scoring device is spectacular!

    How difficult is lining up the amp grabbing mechanism with the human player station?

      They discussed this a little bit on the FIRST Canada livestream, the designer of the amp roller claw estimated that as long as the claw is actually in front of a slot and not one of the dividers your bumpers could be up to about 30° off angle from the wall and as long as the note contacted one of the roller wheels it will still suck it in. With a little practice, you should be able to do it pretty easily

    No floor intake? Seems like a simple under the bumper intake would have been easy enough to add to the kitbot design (just continue the magazine down to the base of the robot) and the wheel base should be wide enough for it. You miss out on a lot of potential autonomous scoring without it.

    • @amaanoliyath4875
      @amaanoliyath4875 11 місяців тому +3

      Not necessarily as simple as that. There are a multitude of reasons that I can think of as to why they weren't able to accommodate a floor intake. One, they have a very limited amount of resources going into this. Having a floor intake would likely mean extra custom plates and COTS parts, supplies that might just be too expensive, maybe even impossible, for teams envisaging an Everybot to achieve, especially since a lot of these teams don't have a $10k CNC machine within their workshop. An intake would also likely mean an extra one to two motors on the robot, which are unfortunately very expensive in the current FRC world. Secondly, the climber-- which as far as I am concerned is like the only "cheap" climber that is feasible to manufacture for an economically disadvantaged/resource-ridden team-- is in the way of where a floor intake and note transfer system would need to be for this idea to be sensible. Remember, the goal of an Everybot is to be the most practical "second-pick" at a regional event; having a functional climber that can facilitate an alliance towards earning a ranking point and a harmony bonus is significantly more desirable than having a floor intake that can do an auto while your more capable alliance partners can just do the same thing. Hope this helps!

      Also, last year's Everybot couldn't pickup off of the ground; it ended up preforming really well in all other sectors (even though in my opinion floor pickup is a lot more important for this year's game).

      If you have a good human player it should be doable.
