CAHILL + ARTETA STUN MANCINI'S CITY! | MAN CITY 0-2 EVERTON: 24 MARCH 2010 | PREMIER LEAGUE CLASSICS

- Both Everton and Manchester City were chasing a European qualification slot when the two teams met at the City of Manchester Stadium on 24 March 2010.
The Toffees took the lead after 33 minutes when Tim Cahill headed a Leighton Baines cross past Shay Given, and the points were sealed five minutes from time when a low cross from Jack Rodwell was converted by Mikel Arteta for a 2-0 win.
As time ebbed away there was a melee at the side of the pitch with David Moyes and Roberto Mancini exchanging pushes and shoves. Both managers were sent to the stands but the Italian had been the instigator and he duly apologised afterwards.
The result gave Everton a Premier League double against Manchester City for the second time in three seasons. Indeed, from January 2008 to May 2011, Moyes led the Blues to seven wins out of eight against City.

It probably does, that's just the Etihad for you
Na the etihad is naturally like this.
fantastic TIM CAHILL as always...
Adam Johnson playing 😂😂😂
Christ we had some ballers in that team, Pienaar was class in that game. Would dream of arteta playing for us today.
Many of the current crop don't match the likes of Pienaar, Arteta, Cahill ... Bernard comes closest to Pienaar, close but no cigar 😂
Blimey, an Everton team with some character that also had a bit of shape and quality about it too!!
Wow Rodwell demolishing Kompany and getting an assist. He had all the potential in the world to be our Gerrard.
Lescott’s face hahaha🤣🤣🤣
4:12 0-1 Tim Cahill
6:28 0-2 Mikel Arteta
That scenes!!! Greats from Poland !💙
Haha Lescott is like what's the point in leaving for a worse team?
I was at this one in the away end. There was a lot more crowd noise than in this video!
Tim Howard a legand
Cahill arteta 👍👍 class
Ahh, the good old days before City's owners started paying off officials.
Fucking love that up the toffees
Boss night this
As a City fan I have many Toffee mates and Everton were our bogey team in our home games in the past. We even lost again in December 2010 with Baines and Cahill scoring. Our last home defeat against the Toffees.
@@kevinthebest6268 I went that game year lescott signed. Think we beat you after as well remember a freezing cold night when we beat your lot 2-1 an we had 10 men Anichebe got sent off for us
@@cal-efc8062 Yeah bogey team! Another home game against Everton and another defeat right before Christmas this one. My Toffee mates think Rafa is the right manager to bring the old days back. City always find it very difficult to score against Rafa. We haven't lost at home against Everton for more than 10 years and Rafa is the perfect manager for you to change this statistic. It should be another home win for City against the Toffees but with Rafa Everton have a very good chance if they can defend well and score first in Manchester!
@@kevinthebest6268 yeah been a while now an hopefully so. Got to see what happens lad I didn’t want Benitez at the start just got to back him now an see what happens
Looking back, Moyes really should have done better with this team than a handful of Europa League spots that led nowhere
I think Moyes did do alot considering the Budget he had to work with and the circumstances he had to deal with when he first arrived. Around this time in 2010 the Premier League was argubly the strongest its ever been, and we finished 5th, two season in a row. He got us to a cup final, consistant 7th, 6th and 5th place positions in the league and alot of entertaining football played by a team of players who were picked up on freebies and very small fees. He turned us into a team that fought with the threat of relegation nearly every season into a team that was feared and could beat anyone on the day. Case in point..... this game against a (on paper) stronger and far richer Manchester City side. Anyway, relating to your comment, that penalty shootout exit in the Europa League in 2008 to Fiorentina still does haunt me. :)
What? He overachieved with this team as he never had any money to spend. Look at this match for example. That City team had around 200mil worth of players in there and we outplayed them at their own ground.
You know you're slow when Tim Cahill outpaces you.

Your parents must be very proud of this astonishing achievement 👏
The only reason I support Everton is because I have supported richarlison for so long even before he came to Everton.
Jog on mate , you support a team not just for one player , it's in your blood to support a team
What kind of stupid display is this?
