They have two different types of speaking styles but it’s not out of disrespect. John has a storyteller type and Lisa is straight to the point. We shouldn’t tear her down for talking with her husband about God.
I agree... every relationship has their own rhythm & both parties "are aware" in front of others it becomes uncomfortable because they don't understand. People should Stop judging 🙄
What a timely and relevant topic and it was truly an insightful conversation. I truly agree with what you said that it is easier to drift than to stay on course because the more you draw closer to God, the stronger is the resistance or the force that is keeping and pulling you back into your old patterns. Spiritual warfare is a real deal so we really need to put on the whole armor of God and deny our self on a daily basis. It really is a daily battle because the enemy is working full time to keep us away from God so we need to be always on guard.
Philippians 4:6-7 Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. ❤ amen 🙏
Thank you. Both of you speaking make it interesting. You work well as a team! :) I'm learning from you both...when Lisa mentioned the anchoring....that is what made me understand the most. It reminded me of a principle I learned before about thoughts and tied it together to my life and walk with Christ. :)
Amen this was amazing and an authentic raw conversation between a husband and a wife about God!! It’s just something about you both that’s raw and real in the most Godliest way and I can say I have grown from following you two since 2019! God Bless!!
A word in due season!! Im definitely a pro self distractor. Maintaining focus is an area I positively need to work on. This is such an important message for the times we live in. ❤
Thank you John and Lisa for continuing to highlight the highly-relevant-for-our-times Word of God through these podcasts. Thank you for your faithfulness.
Man I want yall to do a seperate video about the Think Think Think part at the 9:40 mark of this video. About thinking in Hope, Faith, Courage, and definite of Purpose. That's where I mess up ALL THE TIME. I read my Bible and pray daily. I try to keep one eye on God. But my mind is constantly filled with my personal failures and flaws and addictions and distractions. I have Hope in God but not in myself. I am constantly discouraged with myself. I know the mountains I have to climb and that brings the fear in my mind. I know I can do ALL of these things with Christ but I just can't see how. That messes and jumbles my mind. I would love to get a one on one with John one day! But see even when I say that, I get the thought that pops up in my mind and says John isn't your answer, Jesus is. Therapy isn't your answer, Jesus is. And I understand all of that but I guess it's the HOW part that I struggle with. That and taking the first few (and probably the toughest) steps that Christ has instructed me to do. I will continue to pray and trust. Thank you both again!
Yes Jesus is the answer, we have to develop a personal relationship with Him by being consistent with our personal devotions, studying the word of God.... Spending time with Him
Hello and God bless you! I will share a vision (you could say) that I had as an answer to the situation you are describing that I also struggled a lot with. I was in church praying on my knees with my eyes closed one evening, and suddenly I see myself on top of a very high building (this appears as a vision). That building was so high that it was above the clouds so you could not see anything but clouds as you looked down. In my spirit I knew I had to walk forward but that meant step onto nothing as I would step forward from the edge of the building. I said to myself "How can I start walking forward? There's nothing there. I'll fall!!" But I'm supposed to walk and I couldn't because I was so afraid I would fall. Knowing I am there to walk I understand I will have to make that step in faith not knowing what will happen so I got a little courage (not much) and hesitantly I made a step forward. As I stepped a hand appeared from within those clouds holding my foot as I was stepping. The interesting part was that the hand appeared only after I made the step and not before. So I knew it was the hand of Jesus that would be there to hold me but I also knew that if I did not make that step in faith the hand would not appear and I would be stuck on top of that building. So trust is paramount and I would go so far to say that trusting Jesus is more important that the result or circumstance one action brings you in. For example in one moment a storm shakes the boat of the apostles, then they get scared of Jesus walking on water, then as they pass to the other side they see a guy that's demon possessed by a legion of demons. So following Jesus will sometimes mean uncomfortable situations or unwanted results but not the results or the outcome of a situation is the most important thing, most important is trusting Jesus. He wants to teach us trust so we need to start walking in faith with Him and that way build up trust! I hope this helped you. God bless you!
Therapy is a tool the Lord gives us to heal. Go to therapy! It will help you heal so you can draw nearer to the Lord. It will help unveil the lies the enemy has told you that you aren’t everything Jesus says you are. See if you can find a therapist that also believes in Christ. God bless you!
@@tracy7399 thanks Tracy and nice timing. I'm on my way. Received a recommendation for a Christian therapist from a friend actually last night. Contacting them this week. He said she has helped him tremendously. God Bless you!

Wow wow wow. So many gems tucked into this one right here. Like little nuggets that probably need to have their own sermon or teaching. I needed to hear this message more than any of you could know. Thank you both. Praise God!
Such a good reminder to speak God's truth over our situations as life events take place. The enemy lurks and prowls. I do pretty good when 1 and 2 big things come at once but it's always the 3rd one that gets me. That happened this week and after being sad for a minute I said nope this is not ok. The Lord will use these setbacks for a setup! He will use them for my good. Count it all joy. And if anyone can turn things around it's him. Amen 🙏
Well, I asked the lord to guide me to what video, and this I clicked. One of the versus I read in the book of revelation was something like this, flee from Babylon my people, which I interpret, flee from the worldly American mindset my people by the word of God!. I also read first Corinthians 1, which talks about worldly wisdom. So thank you God for this video. It goes with what I read.

Everyone is complaining about the interruptions but me & my husband do the same thing when talking about God lollll i think they’re just both excited to share what they’ve learned
I am trying to help fellow Christians who are hurt and siding with the d-vl in their anger and bitterness and because of their immaturity they just want what they want. They don’t care that how they are reacting is supporting the enemy. I walk away and pray and ask God to give them the blessing of brokenness so He can get in there and help them. GOD RESISTS THE PROUD but gives grace (power) to the humble
This is so powerful and true. Love the topics that you both discuss and how you share your insight. Just a little hard to stay on track with the interruptions during the conversations though.
One of the biggest areas that people "drift" as you say, is they stop focusing on the fact that Jesus' sacrifice alone atones for their sin. Their failings/sin are nothing in light of His sacrifice. If the devil can convince us that we "failed again, and again, and again", when Jesus sacrifice was always there to cover our failings, then he can get us to truly turn aside, and we end up not trusting in His provision any longer. It is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance in the first place. So if we hold fast to that provision, we just WANT to be holy in every way.
You guys really hit the topics I need to hear to get awakened. Thank you! ❤ But when you get excited, you kinda cut each other all the time, and that is a challenge for me to follow with the thoughts. I get this impression that you are competing with each other even though you obviously have a script in front of you. My choir leader couple are like that too, and it's really sad.
Outwitting the devil has to be those most irontic and oxymoron phrase out there. The min you think you are outwitting the devil. He is sitting on your shoulder laughing. We win Him by the power of Jesus blood and Gods word not by our mind. When we fully submit to God and stand against Him in faith he will flee. But we MUST submit first. If therenis sin in our lives we will fail.
