So if I accidentally ran into a light pole cement block in a parking lot and then the day before that I was in a car wash and somehow pulled up too far and the car wash knocked my side mirror off, what would those be under? Other collision?
Lol@@bayareababe , I never doubted you were not sober. both of those would be under collision. My advice to you would be to let a body shop look at the damage first and see how much the damage will cost you. If the damage is under $1,500, I would suggest paying for it yourself rather than filing the claim. The claim would result in you losing any claims free discounts you have now. I know that might not be what you want to hear, I understand how the policies work and I am trying to help you avoid costing your self more than you need to.
In most cases, you would have to add extra coverage for that. Comprehensive will cover fire, but only to stock parts. Anything aftermarket will need to be "scheduled"
I had a compact tractor and loader (about 1300 lbs)that I had purchased in the bed of my pickup truck. When I got it home I unstrapped the tractor that I thought was in gear do it wouldn't roll. As I was carrying the staps into the garage heard a loud thud. The front of the tractor had rolled out the back of the truck and fallen to the ground. When it fell the 1300 lb weight of the tractor crushed the tailgate of the truck. The trucks was stationary and nobody was on the tractor when this occured. Would you say it's covered by collision or comprehensive coverage?
This is going to depent on the policy language as the physical damage coverage definition of collision could change some. Some will include any sort of vehicle damage as collision. Some state that your vehicle has to be in motion for collision to apply. More often than not, I see something like this fall under collision.
Great video

By the way I was completely sober during both incidents , it was just a really bad luck weekend.

Would comprehensive cover fire caused by aftermarket subwoofer started the fire?
