    This is a few years old now, but great vids. For oil, there was a series that basically went from finding the oil in the ground, all the way to using the different oils produced. This would be great to have a similar series for natural gas. It is sort of here in this playlist, but from start to finish, in order, like the oil was. But, either way, very interesting to learn a bit about all of these topics, keep 'em coming :)

    Hard to believe I've only discovered this guy a week ago on Utube, excellent videos. While this ability to drill sideways and fracture is impressive and I'm glad we have it, I cannot imagine how this can be cheap enough to be commercially viable. Also one cannot ignore that there's only so much. Whatever relief this has offered should be used for long term benefit, not short term gain

      well the wells don't last forever. Casings only need to last as long as the well. Once the well is done they close it. Literally. With explosives. Nothing will flow up after

      Wells get cemented up after use. Even grounwater wells and monitoring wells. The casing doesnt have to last forever. And yes, there is a lot of oversight. I work in a groundwater monitoring field. It's a lot bigger than most people realize.

      @@jlowe8059 yup. Capping and safety is a huge concern for anyone that runs, owns, or is around a well. At this point in history we’ve been taught how devastating poor safety can be for everyone - it’s also more economically responsible as the same reserve can have future applications you must be mindful of.

    My main concern is preserving the structure of underground water. Underground water is a vital asset we can keep using indefinitely if it is done effectively. But fracking may break up the layers of non-permiable water and contaminating them. We can only get fracking once. But carefully managed artesian water structure can last indefinitely. Clean water is actually more important than gas. Especially for farming.

    • @simonphoenix3789
      @simonphoenix3789 3 роки тому

      Terminus Est He addresses that in another video. Fracking is done at far greather depths than where the water table is at. I don't believe there is any chance of doing that since they aren't putting pressure on those water containing layers.

    Fracking is ingenius. My neighbours had a well drilled for water and when they were at 200ft, they had a small drizzle but then they fracked the well and now they have lots of water. Certainly I rather see people in one country drilling and fracking gas wells then attacking another country to steal their resources. There is plenty to go around.
    Of course good environmental standards are important to go along with any project too.
