  • Debussy- "Hommage à Rameau" from "Images", book I, 2nd movement
This Homage to Rameau, which was composed by Debussy at the beginning of the twentieth century, is written in the style and rhythm of a barogue Sarabande, a reminiscent of the great French composer and theorist, who wrote among other pieces some master-pieces for the harpsichord. Rameau was one of the most important musicians to lay down the foundations of Western Classical Music.
Debussy's "Images" was a collection of pieces that was, to that point, the compositions which Debussy was utmost proud of, according to a letter he wrote to his publisher.
