- The Tryst trimaran is a variation on the 2 sheet Duo dinghy. Both outriggers are made from one sheet of plywood and bolt to extended wing/beams
This was the first time I sailed the Tryst and I was using a new gooseneck which I had fitted too low.
The last still shot shows the whole boat, including spars and sail, in the back of our pickup truck which has a 6ft long bed.
You can build your own Tryst from plans by Woods Designs. See more on the Tryst page of my website www.sailingcatamarans.com - Спорт
OK, now my Sailbird seems simply ginormous! Now let's d\see one of these compete in the 2015 Everglades Challenge...
Wonderful little boat mate.
Great Job Buddy..!! Thanks..!!
Very nice and interesting solution for the transport.
that is the smallest tri I ever saw, plus it breaks apart, very impressive.
Thank you, furthermore, it is all made from just 3 sheets of plywood.

I am impressed. Hope you get a lot more views and subscribers.
Thank you for the compliments. Selling some more plans would also be good!
I build a 8 feet trimaran
cute little boat
Thank you!
Best boat.
Need one of these at Sail Oklahoma this year
It will be! and also at the Port Aransas event a week later
See you there?

Looks great Richard, well done. What speed are you doing, looks fast.

I'm sorry, I didn't have my gps with me that day. It didn't feel particularly fast when on board, only after seeing Jetti's video did I realise I was going quite quickly. I need some one to sail against and also more wind. Hoefully in the next few weeks I'll have both. I expect Jetti will be there again with camera in hand. So keep looking at my channel for updates

fantastic design
+fedalito ayeng jr. Thank you. Glad you like the boat
when i buy the plans do i get the measurement's ( loof, leech etc) of the sail so i can make them ??
Thank you for watching. Yes you do get a sailplan with the plans
who made your sail ? and how much did it cost ??
The sail came from a Walker bay 10 dinghy. The purple stripe was painted on the hide the original logo.
Hello what is the size of amas
They are about 2.1m long (7ftish) so you can get all 4 sides and both decks from one sheet of plywood
D'awww, it's cute. ^_^
Turns on a dime too. Just needs a little more boom height to be comfortable.
+Vantss I already had the 3 piece mast and sail from two different boats. So I was lucky they fitted at all. Also as a dinghy sailor for over 50 years I am used to low booms. A longer mast wouldn't have fitted in our pickup truck either.
But agreed, the gooseneck is low in this video. Remember this was the first sail and I had put the gooseneck in a random position. By my next sail I had raised it to the correct height
You need to rethink the rig
Thank you for watching. The rig is a Walker Bay 10 sail, as also used on my Duo dinghy. A 3 part mast so it stowed in the back of our 6ft bed pickup truck. You could have a bigger rig, up to say 7sqm and a screecher, but then you'd be better off with my 14ft Zeta trimaran
Oh wow sorry i thought someone had built it to your plans i didnt realise it was you, you would know better than me the limits of your design- you really design some great boats you deserve a bigger reputation than you have, all the best
