Been fidgiting mine for a few days now. Overall great knife I've only got 2 complaints. Mine came with a smile already ground into the edge (plunge grind hits edge), and I would have paid more if a milled clip was available. I personally don't care about deep carry and I think wire clips should only be used on ultra light or inexpensive knives. They scream cheap. I ordered a Lynch blackwash clip but haven't gotten it yet. I think it will dress it up nicely. Very unique design and pretty well done. I'd definitely recomend it to friends. I should be able to fix the smile with some choil work but that was a bit disappointing.
Based on the merits of this totally objective review, I just placed my order. It checks all my boxes - unique design, meant to cut, no thumb studs, great materials and a good canvas for home anodizing!
Bearded Gear, I just got an Avant and I am loving the blade shape. I really like everything about it except for I can’t get good action without considerable blade play. I own a micarta version and I have the Ti on the way. I have taken the knife apart for cleaning and nothing seems off or unusual but I still can’t get decent action without blade play. I know these are made by Reate (which I have never owned until now) and I have heard great things, but having blade play is a real deal breaker/issue for me. How can I get ahold of you to potentially go through the warranty process and see if there is anything we can do to see if my problems can be fixed? Thanks.
Just grabbed mine from the DLT drop! I’ve got the micarta and liked it but don’t love micarta so this one really spoke to me. I really really appreciate you working to not do a pre order. I personally hate them. Idk if I would’ve got this model if it was a pre order only. Great stuff man!
Man, I'm so glad you guys went with titanium and the zirconium accents look amazing. The only thing holding me back from buying one of these was the micarta, I just don't like it. It makes knives feel cheap but now that your scales are titanium. I think we have an affordable yet high quality knife that can do the job an Arius can do. I definitely want to try one out. I know that even the Arius had a micarta model which they can keep. Lol
Ergos over jimping, here! here! Enjoyed this satisfying preview and breakdown especially on weights as I love my micarta version but always wished it was more substantial 😊 Well done Jake.
It’s very nice, very very nice but there’s a couple things I’m not crazy about, the choil looks very small, doesn’t seem like you’ll be able to sharpen it more that 3-5 times over the life of the knife and for the price, it should have a milled clip, not a wire. It really kills the premium look of the knife. Other than that it’s an absolutely beautiful knife and I definitely wish I could fork up the $450 for the eknives exclusive DLC version.

@@nolanraney914 see, the thing is, if its shitty quality and fit and finish, that's what was paid for. Its obvious they can make amazing detailed quality, using top materials and flawless fit and finish. But that's what the customer wanted, and payed for. These chinese manufacturers will make whatever they're paid to make, be it crap, or gold. But yes, for the most part, the workers are treated like shit, and the govt gets that $.
Hate the curved tip design. Also, at or close to this price, there are now far too many knives that are aesthetically more pleasing, and a few are even American made! I love your reviews brotha, but the knife blade is just a bit fugly.

I love mine - bought second hand.
Are you doing any more production runs on the sold-out variants?

I’m new to the knife world and shame I missed the pre order. Here’s to hoping I snag one in the future!

Can’t wait to get the swag pack and the knife itself later on 🎉

Are these USA made?
Whats the hrc by chance?
That knife looks great man! Still love my Avant I got from you at Blade Show!
Is the full OAL of the blade 3.25” or is the cutting edge 3.25”? I really wanna pull the trigger on one of these
Alright fuck it, order is in 🤘🤘
looks great dude
I feel confident I speak for the entire knife community when I say these 2 words: MORE ABALONE
keep it in mind for next time
Nah.
That would be a show stopper but I’ve never seen it done on a production knife before. Would be cool though.l, if feasible.
Love the design and I'd really like one, but I can't bring myself to pay $350 to Reate simply because of the made in China aspect.
Agreed. No offense. But no Chinese knives for me.
I love when people make their identity all wrapped up in stuff like this. So silly.
