Bike fit is more important than the bike you buy.
Best thing I ever did since I can ride for hours now in comfort.
100%
That was really impressive! Dan is very knowledgeable, calm, patient and thorough - what a nice guy, too.
Kyle's frog exercise is too crazy! I will have to try it, but perhaps I'll ring A&E first to let them know I'm on my way
Yes he's great - especially putting up with me when I'm hyper! 😅 Haha I don't know how he does the frog 😂
Love your banter and sense of humour Amy. 😂
Always educational watching a bike fit. Just realize, the only tool Amy interested in is a chai latte tool.
I change to Lake a few years ago. I have a really broad foot. Best fitting shoe I have ever had, so comfortable.
Loads of good information there. 👍
One small point - I see that you have a payment card in your phone case. It's safer to add a virtual card to a payment app on your phone. That way, if you lose your phone, you don't lose your physical payment card as well.
Just got a new bike so incredible helpful Katie. Great video
I can highly recommend the go4dry shoe dryer, besides heat and a fan of course it also uses ozon to prevent your shoes from getting smelly which also helps to keep your shoes in a good condition.
Well deserved, onwards and upwards now, back to bikefit now
Nice one. Love a good bike fit video. Always something new to learn. Cheers.
Like probably most others I would love to get a bike fit. What makes me hesitate is that I live very far away from any reputable bike fitter and while you can get lucky and get everything fixed in one go, there is a very real chance that you will need a follow-up appointment and/or additional services as e.g. a foot-pedal analysis, new shoes, or maybe a saddle, and it quickly becomes very time consuming not to mention costly too. I better win the lottery I suppose 😂
Let's go bike fit vid :D always enjoy a change up of video
You know I luv that shifter alignment tool!!!! I'll be on to one of those ASAP.
Glad your position is finally locked in....
Degreaser is your friend when cleaning Pinni....The most important and first step. Plenty of tutorial vids on bike washing, seriously view a few. Both of you need lessons...you have a high-end whip now; half-assed wipe downs will not suffice!!! Please do have to find out the hard way the truth on this.
Cheers, Pjw
A word of caution in cleaning your bike and components: NEVER use a citrus degreaser! Because of the acid ph, at the molecular lever it causes hydrogen embrittlement with metals. Two or three TdFs ago a rider was powering up a steep climb and his chain snapped. I did some research and the team was riding with Campagnolo components. I have been in the Campagnolo factory in Vincenza and have seen the exceedingly high quality of the chain manufacturing and 100% Quality Assurance. (No wonder they're so damn expensive!) The chain failure was the result of a team mechanic giving the bikes a quick cleaning and wiping the dirty grease off the chain with a citrus degreaser before regreasing. The chain may have been cleaned this was many times before it eventually failed under max stress. Citrus degreaser will also cause aluminum alloy to corrode. I have a new Dogma F with Super Record wireless and a four year old Grevel with 1 x 13 Campagnolo EKAR. I take very good care of my bikes going all the way back to 1985 when living and working in southern Belgium I put together an Eddy Merckx with Nuovo Record. Check out the SILCA velo videos, Josh who owns SILCA in Indianapolis is an engineer (and a superb business man) and I learnt about hydrogen embrittlement from his excellent explanation. Also, NEVER use a pressure washer hose cleaning the muck off of your bike! The water will get into your bearings and ruin them.
Hi Kyle - helpful comment...... your White-balance is all over the shop mate. It's AWB (Auto White Balance) doing it's best in-camera but it's wandering around massively. For changing light like this (mixture of interior articifial light PLUS changing exterior ambient light) pick a FIXED white-balance setting in-camera (it'll be there in the menu somewhere) and then your color casts won't be changing every time you film a segment and it's much easier to do ONE change in the edit for scenes like this. Best regards
ps. to see what i mean look at difference between t=15m30s and t=15m38s. That's the camera's inadequate Auto-white-balance setting.
You can get rubber cleat covers for walking around the cafés and protecting you cleats. They do not fall off and are easy to carry in a pocket. If your shoes are wet, take out the insoles when you come home! This is where 90% of the humidity gets trapped. The insoles and shoes will also dry faster when separated. No need for a dryer; just wear your old pair on the days your main shoes are drying or carry a second pair of insoles if you're on a trip. Heat is the enemy of most sports wear and shoes. Never put insoles or shoes directly on the radiator. Cycling kits, base layers and clothing should never be dried in a dryer on the heat setting. Just hang to dry.
Gotta love Kyle's _figure-8_ pedal stroke. Good thing Dan loves a project--sort of like an old house that's a budget fixer-upper.
Great sound this time 👍👍 Excellent video 😀👍♥️
Woah, this is so informative. I need to do this for myself.
Love Lake shoes!
Nice to see Kyle getting a fitting.
Pinnie might have a slightly longer wheelbase, which may explain why it goes over livestock grates more smoothly.
Excellent video. I like this sort of stuff (likewise for the ftp/lactate/vo2 testing done there also)
It's good to see the whole process done in a real world scenario like this. Makes me want to go in for a bike fit, a bit far from Sydney though 😂
Ahh haha yes a bit much to get a flight over for 😂😂
Don’t waste your money on an expensive shoe dryer (unless a brand gifts you one) just remove inner soles & pop them on the radiator and put newspaper inside the shoe to absorb any moisture. Or just wear overshoes in the first place!
@14:00... this is why momma always said put on clean socks 🤣
Dan went full geek with his lever adjustment tool. Never go full geek! 😂
"Which part of the bike did you clean then ?? " ....
I was curious why crank length wasn't mentioned by the bike fitment member, I have noticed most bike fitment experts failed to explain the importance and the effect improper crank length on movement, joints and performance
Dan deserves a medal dealing with these two 😂😂😂
great video and enjoy your new lakes
Thank you
Love these so interesting and good fun
We have good fun doing it 🙌🙌
Yes, Dan, I've been telling Amy for months that her cadence is tortoise-slow. And her position looks so much better with your subtle but important adjustments.
All Good stuff, Amy , Kyle looks much better now, It's a massing we the muc and dust gos you think it cleen but its not.🐑🐑🐑🤗.
Yes need to up my cleaning game!
Kyle looks a happy chappy 👌👌
He was! 😄 especially in the frog pose 😂
Looking forward to a bike fit and I think the brand ambassador is rubbing off. My Bianchi is up for sale as I so like look of that Pini X7 - what a bike. Shout out to McConveys Belfast who supply these too, hey they might give me an Amy 10% disc ?
Ohhh she is a lovely ride!! Let me know if you go for it! ohhh maybe you never know! :D
The Park Derailleur Hanger Alignment Tool stem top bolt adapter - who makes that?
If you decide not to buy a shoe dryer, packing newspaper in your shoes as tight as they will go will dry them out quickly and thoroughly. You may need to change out the newspaper after letting them sit overnight but they will be dry in no time and you definitely will not have to ride with wet, smelly shoes.
I think Dan enjoys his sessions with you 2! I bet he’s never had anyone doing a frog stretch in front of him! 😂
Haha no I don't think he has! 😂
fab video
2:25 Socks don't have to match the outfit-- they go with it. Also, loving the up-do hairstyle. Pinny looks so rad in the window light.
How do you adjust the seat post height?
Okay, please, what tool does he use instead of the 'expensive A-brand' lever setter? 😅 The 'A-brand' really is too expensive... 😂
Park im guessing
@@rollandjoeseph that's almost definitely a Park Tool derailleur hanger tool, but the little adapter to connect that to the top cap to adjust the levers is not something they make. I only know of the expensive Abbey Lever Setter.
Shoe dryer? I thought the bike fit guy suggested the oven. Baking shoes at 40 or 45 C should do the trick, I think.
How much is your new pinarello?
Has anyone know the brand of he uses to setup the levers. I know the original it’s abbey but I want the replacement one
Slam cleats back, you can't go wrong
none of them go back far enough 😢
@@hugejackedman1951 I think there are some shoes that do
I think I will take my bike into Dan to get him to clean it!😂🤣
😂😂
@15:51 I gotta get me one... ding dang soon
Those yellow cleats have too much float.Try the blue ones.
The cadence police nee naw nee naw
Cadence cadence cadence!! Promise you it’ll be worth working on ‘upping it’
Anyone else on the living room floor trying to do Kyle's frog stretch? 😂 it's not possible btw, even my 17 year old daughter can't do it 😂😂
😂 I have no idea how he does it!
Probably just put lady-sized cranks on and the cadence will be more natural, I reckon. It's already ridiculous that a 1m65 female gets roughly the same size cranks as a 1m80 male.
We are waiting for the smaller cranks to come ☺️
And they never give you the right size cranks when you get a bike.
"We wont say what brand tool it is but its overpriced"
Hmm.. Does it rhyme with "Park tools."
You are never going to be comfortable. He is stretching you out when you clearly prefer an upright endurance position. The saddle problem is purely lack of forward tilt. You looked better in the before rather than the after.
Take his advice, both of you need a higher cadence
If Kyle ever injures himself and can't lay bricks at least he can do frog stretches on Only Fans 🐸
😂
Road shoes... WHY? More faff with no benefit. Gravel shoe cleats will never wear out.
Agree. SPDs on my gravel & road bike, with XTR race pedals, super light weight, cafe stops and off bike a breeze, and comfy as you like.
Honestly you guys have no shame. Come with filthy shoes and filthy bikes to a bike fit.
🤦♀️ we’re an embarrassment! We need to spend less time riding & working so we have more time for cleaning 😂
@@amy.cycling.adventures yeah its like going to the dentist and eating a kepap with loads of onion and garlic beforehand.
Shame, a very interesting video from the bike fit point of view but Amy sounding very needy and grabbing. Big shame, digging at Kyle all the time spoils the video.
K
which points, I didn't notice that?
ah so sorry if it came across like this - I did say to Dan I felt bad as I needed so much doing before the vid - I was just joking about the shoes ☺️ & I'm so grateful for all that Dan did & for Kyle for putting up with me
As for the digs at Kyle, we always have a joke with each other - so proud of how far he's come with his cycling from LEJOG to here, just a bit of fun & as he's my hubby he would tell me if I had upset him 😅
@amy.cycling.adventures just sounded like any happy couple tbf! 🥰
great video always enjoy watching your videos keep it going yipeeee OhoooHooo
Thank you so much! Hope you yipeeee into the weekend :D
Shoes on the table..... Noooooo 😉 take the insoles out and dry them on the radiator.
just ordered shoe dryers from amazon what great idea, hopefully no more smelly wet cycling shoes, thanks for the video, would love one of these bike fits 🤩
Lol calling out Abbey bike tools as overpriced
I'm curious how those x stays feel. It looks like they would add stiffness more than anything.
Really interesting video this thanks. I also have a knee that kinda twists like Kyle. Maybe a bike fit is needed.
Hi Amy love the content.
Thank you 🫶
Really enjoyed this thanks Amy
You are so welcome! Thank you for watching, glad you enjoyed it ☺️
Great vid You two are an inspiration. Kyle is now finding his On Camera
presence
Yes getting him on it more 🙌 he’s in it for the free shoes 😂😂
@@amy.cycling.adventures the addition of the Rode wireless mics has really helped with that. I struggled to hear what you guys were saying sometimes - particularly outdoors. Now it's much clearer.
