  • I've been dyeing my hair for 15 years so I'm quite familiar with blonde hair dye.
    A couple of years ago I switched from warm blonde to ash blonde and I've been testing options since.
    In this video I will be dying my roots with Wella Koleston Special Blonde 12/81 and tone the rest of my hair with L'Oreal Matrix Color Sync SPA.

    I actually recommend dropping down the developer to 6% and letting it sit for about 40 minutes. This is because the Wella special blonde dyes are designed to lift the first 30 minutes and then deposit the pigment. By rinsing it out after 15-20 min you get less of the deposited (ash) pigments! X

      Hi! I am a stylist new to using Wella and i have a client who wants to be more blonde . I have started color correction on her from another stylist that she went to before. so I started doing color correction again using Wella.. I did foils the first time with a very low developer and it came out really pretty but she wants to be even more blonde. I don't want to damage the integrity of her hair, but I also know she doesn't want to sit for three or four hours so I was curious about using the special blonde mix and how much it would actually lift her hair and if I should apply it to the roots through the ends or should I go to apply it as balayage technique? I would appreciate your help. Also, if I could send you a photo of her hair, that would be amazing! Because some of the stylists in my salon, or not really helpful or don't really want to help with this particular client.

      Yes 9% (30vol) and 12% (40vol) do more irreversible damage.

    You did a great job! I love that you demonstrate how you can lighten hair without bleach, not many people realise this.

      Hi, did you dye your whole hair with 40 vol? I am thinking if i need less vol for the roots as the hair does lift more because of the scalp heat.

    Nice video but I`d recommend starting from the back of your head, not the front. The color on the front areas lifts much faster because this area produces more heat and the hair will be lighter in the front than in the back. That`s what I`ve heard

    Hi! I really want to try this Koleston 12/81 but I have a question: does it leave blueish or violet on the lengths? Aaand... how do you apply toner after? Hairdressers upset me everytime so I’m doing my own hair.

    • @KristinaCrown

      Hi, darling! I only get violet tints on my natural highlights that are very, very light. But that's with most of the hair dyes for me. If you don't have extremely light hair, it shouldn't happen. And it washes off anyway in a few days.

    Golden is better for your skin tone and eye colouring..look at Gwen Stefani or Shakira you are similar colouring they never do ashy or cool it washes them out..try wella 12/03 or 12/0

    I don’t like silvery blonde, ashy hair colour.I prefer yellowy blonde (not orange or brassy) if you look at children’s blonde natural hair it isn’t ashy. It’s either white blonde, yellowy blonde or golden blonde. You never see a child or baby with ashy blonde hair.

    • @linziRyan1965
      @linziRyan1965 2 роки тому +2

      I agree I love the more golden blonde

      @@linziRyan1965 This video is to educate and demonstrate her results. If you don't like silvery or ash blonde, that's fine, but that's not what this video is about. Personally, I like the less brassy look of the ash on her. She was very brassy before, so I think this was a good decision on her part.
