Great video!! I'm never gonna stop being angry about this. It would have been massive, representation-wise. It was so easy, the chemistry was already there, the actors were on board,... but no.
It wasnt forced at all, its was too natural, we all have eyes, we can see there was more there, than them just getting on and bonding, they had a strong intimate connection with each other, any everyone who view it, who are straight, gay, bi, pan and so on, could see it. We have eyes, lol. The movie still would have made billions, they should have just went with it, (and also making Finn a jedi in training along with Rey), so much potential wasted.
The fact that Disney didn't steer into this and make them a couple shows just how surface level their progressivism is. They can't have openly gay characters as that would lead to the movies being banned in countries that discriminate against gay people, leading to a drop in revenue. Disney take hypocrisy to a whole new level. P.S. Great editing for this video.

TROS was when I realized how much I loved stormpilot. Can’t believe it’s been almost a year since then and I still cry because they deserved so much better. This has got to be the best stormpilot video I’ve seen.

All the parallels, from start to finish were absolutely perfect. & the VO at the end of Finn telling Poe they were in this together and then him saying they did it ugh *chefs kiss* I love this so much
These characters had so much potential, the introductory scene has really well written dialogue that establishes the characters pretty well. Finn directly killing a lot of Storm Troopers right after breaking out Poe was bad writing, but for the most part I liked the characters. But then they made the enslaved child soldier the comic relief.
It's really such a shame - I think they should have taken a page out of Stargate SG-1's book where we see a brainwashed soldier turn against his oppressors and actively tries to change the lives of others in his place. Sure, they shoot down their enemies when they're taking fire, but where he can, he stops and speaks to the others and offers them salvation and a place on the rebellion. It would have been amazing to see something like that for Finn!
I love it. Everything is just perfect. The coloring is beautiful, the overlays, the transitions, the voiceovers, the text effects just amazing. Stunning video. ❤️ ☺️
Amazing job. Really cool to see all the ROS clips blended with everything else. There may not have been any official kiss, etc; but that doesn’t mean there aren’t a “helluva” lot of kind gazes and touches. It’s obvious that Oscar Issac snuck in as much as possible.
A lot of times, a kiss isnt needed for one to just know two people are more than just friends, these two and Makkari and Druig from the Eternals movie perfectly show that, chemistry so strong you cant not help but notice because it isnt force, its all natural and powerfully so.

What's amazing about this awesome edit is that you managed to put clips from The Rise of Skywalker and make them meaningful. I mean Finn and Poe were basically reduced to cardboard characters in that movie. That's truly impressive!

Well, in this case one of the actors has stated that they were playing the role in a romantic context so is it really surprising that people perceive a romantic element? I'm all for rep of strong male friendships, they are often my favourite relationships on films and tv shows so this isn't a case of me dismissing a male friendship and forcing a romantic context onto it. If these were individuals of the opposite sex, would it be weird to ship them too given their chemistry and interactions? Honestly, I get really tired of male ships getting critiqued for ruining friendship. Plenty of solid and excellent male friendships out there, however this one has been explicitly coded as being romantic by Oscar Isaac, so I don't see an issue shipping them.
