- The early days of Canada's future capital were plagued with violence and anarchy. One group in particular, the Shiners, wreaked havoc on its citizens. Bytown was a lawless place and the Shiners ran the town.

Yes, Montferrand was very much a part of this story. I'm planning to do a future video on Montferrand as his story is fascinating (and legendary to say the least).
Perth being the largest town around 😂...Not that I don't love Perth, it's just thinking of it as some sort "provincial capital" is somewhat anathema.
We were here for longer and we were willing to work for less pay than the Irish. The Irish started this conflict.
