    I just started making my own yogurt too. So much savings! If you like the Greek yogurt you could always strain some separately for you. I strain all of ours and then save the whey for smoothies or to make fermented mayo.

    Such a blessing you are to so many🥰✝️ I love home made yogurt. I heat the milk on the stove then cool a bit, mix in some yogurt and place in glass jar wrapped in towels. Then I do have a yogurt separator to make it Greek style. Tastes soooo much better, and yes ALOT cheaper!! Healthier too😊

    Now that you are making yogurt I have a suggestion for your marketplace search: a Salton yogurt maker. I bought mine back in the 70’s. I did not use for many years😮. Then, about five years ago I started again using Trader Joe Greek yogurt for my starter. It is not practical for your large batches but it would give you your own personal yogurt cups with that perfect tanginess of Greek yogurt. I love your homemaking and so often find you doing things I did when I was younger that bring smiles to my face.

    Great idea making your own yogurt. You can make Greek yogurt with that by putting some in cheesecloth or a coffee filter and let it drain overnight in the fridge over a bowl. Best of both worlds! Loving your videos for years

    We have some hardwood and also LVP in our home and the chairs and furniture legs are definitely an issue with scratching. We tried felt but it kept coming off. We bought chair leg socks from Amazon in July and they are fabulous. I clean the bottoms a few times a month (dog hair) but the chairs are easy to slide and no more scratches. The brand I bought was Iamzay premium chair leg socks. I’ve also seen some that look like animal feet but not the vibe I was going for. I also make the English muffin sandwiches. I like to put a half slice of cheese on each half of the muffin since it holds the filling in when it gets heated.

    Hillary, my husband is a farmer, and I make him breakfast sandwiches every week he appreciates it so much. I do wrap them in parchment because he can microwave right in the paper. The hearts reminded me of my dear departed mother in law who would bake my kids' heart-shaped red sprinkled sand tarts every Valentines ❤ Your love for others shows in all that you do.

    Do you have a specific recipe for the mushroom sauce that you made? Looks and sounds delicious!

    • @OldWorldHome
      @OldWorldHome  2 дні тому +1

      I don't, I just throw together the ingredients I mentioned until it tastes good and has the consistency I'm looking for. I forgot to mention I also added in some of the beef broth from the roasts to help stretch the sauce and add even more flavor :) If you searched 'simple creamy mushroom sauce' or something like that I'm sure lots of recipes would pop up with more specific proportions

      I’ve been making Greek yogurt (in my instant pot ) for years. I bought a yogurt strainer from Amazon and it works great. You can also line a strainer with cheesecloth and put it over a bowl and strain it that way. I use the strained off whey to make my breads and rolls. It adds some extra nutrition.

    • @OldWorldHome
      @OldWorldHome  2 дні тому +1

      You would let it strain through cheesecloth in a bowl overnight, or you can buy a specific yogurt strainer. Essentially you just let it sit and drain and it will become naturally thicker!
