The braid out came out really good on your hair...😃 I also do braid outs but I do it on washed wet hair & I noticed the more braids (6-8) the more defined the waves come out plus my tip is I go under the hooded dryer for 10-15 minutes & let the hair air dry but sometimes I may keep the braids in an extra day for more definition & then take it out....😉

Also moisture is NOT a look on your hair, you’ve described the sheen on your hair as moisture. Moisture is a feeling
Becareful, oil is not a moisturizer, it'll do the opposite actually. your hair feels better because oil is slick and shiny so it gives that illusion of moisturized. I suspect it was the shea moisture usage making your hair feel dry, they usually use a lot of oil in their products which then blocks the hair from receiving water in the air.
Try doing a really good detox every once in a while and a good moisturizing shampoo n conditioner
Yes I detox often and I stopped using oils because they stopped the moisture from getting into my hair. But now I use them to lock in the moisture after applying water and a leave in 💗
